Water Yes But Why Do So Many Plant People Forget That Roots Needs Oxygen

Oxygen in tank?

Hi, yes you could get away without an air pump and air stones. However you would need to do daily water changes, because of all the build up waste and other poisons in the tank. That's if you don't use some kind of filter in the tank Secondly all filters move water. As the water moves in the tank the air and water exchange gases. Some filter are better at moving the water than others. Filters also help in removing unwanted waste and other poisons in the water. Some filters are powered by air pumps and air stones. So choose your filter carefully don't cut corners when choosing to filter your tank or not. Do the right thing and filter the tank water. It is far less work. Don't forget to do weekly water changes even when you are filtering your tank. There are some poisons that can only be reduced by doing weekly water changes of 20 percent.

If gravity is real, why do plants go up?

Let me rephrase the question for you:If gravity is real, why can I jump?“Wait, that’s not fair, I can jump because I have muscles, which allow me to exert force to move things!”Yes, but why are your muscles able to do that? Why would you assume that plants can’t do the same thing using a similar mechanism? There are several different things going on with how muscles work, but at the cellular level, the basic idea is that muscles contract because the cells that make them up are able to contract themselves to forcibly change their shape.Plants are rooted in the ground. They are able to hold themselves in a particular shape by modifying the water pressure within their cells. This is how some plants are able to move, albeit very slowly. Here’s a video showing the real speed at which one particular plant is able to move its leaves:And of course, for other plants, you can take video, speed it up, and see all sorts of interesting behaviors that happen with plants in the real world, just too slowly for us to see without help from technology. Here’s timelapse of a dodder vine, a species of parasitic plant:Here’s a timelapse of a prayer plant adjusting its leaves to put itself to sleep for the night over the course of eight hours from 4pm to midnight:Here’s a timelapse of young morning glory vines searching for something solid to climb on:The moral of the story is this: plants go up the same way animals go up; by exerting force on their environment to keep themselves upright.

Why can we not simply create water if it’s the simple combination of hydrogen and oxygen?

Why can we not simply create water if it’s the simple combination of hydrogen and oxygen?A quick scan through the answers shows that you CAN produce water from reacting hydrogen and oxygen directly - just burn it.Everyone thinks of uncontrolled explosions, but it can be controlled and that is the basis of the hydrogen torch used for cutting through metals / welding.Oxyhydrogen - WikipediaNo-one I noticed has stated that this is the basis of the hydrogen / oxygen fuel cell (though perhaps alluded to n the reference to the movie “The Martian”).This fuel cell is used to produce electricity on space stations and the only by-product is pure drinking water that is used for drinking and rehydrating food. In this way, mass and space are minimised at a time when both are at a premium. The combination of hydrogen and oxygen is the classic case of the conflict between thermodynamic and kinetic control…Thermodynamically the reaction is extremely exothermic, yet it doesn’t occur at all under standard conditions. The reason is, as others have stated, that the molecules must first be dissociated into atoms and the energy required for this intermediate step is too high for ordinary room temperature and pressure. That’s where the spark comes in to push the first few molecules over the activation energy barrier, releasing sufficient energy to cause a rapid chain reaction. Alternatively, and less explosively, it is possible to reduce the energy barrier by using a catalyst (platinum is good here) which allows the molecules to dissociate at room temperature and pressure by providing a surface onto which they can adsorb to form an intermediate between the catalyst and the atoms of hydrogen and oxygen - this requires far less energy than just pulling the molecules apart.

Can we genetically modify plants to fight desertation?

Ernie makes a good point. There are already plenty of plants adapted to semi-arid and arid climates, and the causes of desertification are mainly overgrazing and poor land management. Innovative solutions like planting trees work much better than trying to change plants that are already adapted to grow in the area. Trees have an interesting way of bringing water up from the water table to make it accessible to other plants. They do this because the more organic material they can eng=courage to grow around their roots, the better quality soil they have to grow in. Surface plants, along with creatures like nematodes and earthworms, circulate the soil, create tunnels for oxygen to reach deep roots and generally create a healthier environment, both for the tree, and for the surrounding vegetation. When animals like goats, which eat much more of the plants that sheep or cattle, are allowed to graze freely and destroy this symbiotic balance, then the trees and plants die, leaving behind a desert. Controlled grazing, intelligent planting and active management of scarce resources is much more likely to slow or reverse desertification than genetically modifying plants that aren’t native to the environment. Also, once plants have been genetically modified, they are no longer in the public domain. They become the property of the company that designed them, and anyone who wants to use them, such as poor farmers, needs to pay for the privilege. Using plants that already exist in the natural environment carries less of a cost, both financial and social.

Why do ppl chop trees down..........?

Trees need to be cut down for various reasons. To clear land for building homes,to heat homes, to keep disease from spreading from one tree to another, paper products, mulch for gardens and they need to come down when laying on power/phone lines. Nature has always done her own thing to thin out forests and maintain the balance. Lightning strikes, tornados ,hurricanes are just some of the ways that she does her work. People need to understand and appreciate reforestation efforts by individuals and companies. Most home builders replace some of the trees that they cut down to build their homes when they do their landscaping . Lumber companies do reforestation projects . They have to or they would be out of business eventually. The same goes for people who grow Christmas trees. If they did not replant they would be out of business. If you would like to explore what other countries are doing to aid in protecting the trees you could go to : reforest, org or outland.ca

What can I do to make the environment safer and a better place?

You can reduce your garbage- try creating a mulch pile with your food waste. I keep an ice cream bucket on my counter and chuck potato peels, coffee grounds, etc. in it. Make sure you have a container with a lid, though! Otherwise, things could get ugly (like, the scent of the air you breathe).

If you need to get rid of old clothes, donate the ones that aren't holey, stained, or otherwise no good, to a thrift store, thus reducing more waste.

Get yourself some plants- plants give off oxygen, plus they're so pretty you'll feel happy looking at them. Geraniums are super easy to grow, and there are always cactus plants if you're worried about water. However- do you ever have to soak your dishes? If you don't use soap to do so, you could pour the water into your plants or else use water that is left over from boiling eggs or vegetables to water your plants.

Try saving gas by making sure your tires are properly inflated, by car pooling, and by shopping locally.

Don't forget to recycle- you can use the money from cashing in cans for your ga$. I wash out jars and margarine containers and reuse them, so you might try that also.

Can an evolutionist explain water without using the formula?

In the earliest times of our solar system when our sun was very young the dust and clouds which surrounded it began to from into planets our Earth contained water from that hot mass of dust and clouds. Other smaller protoplanets collided with Earth adding water in the process. Evidence of surface water go back as far as 4.2 billion years ago. Comets which bombarded our infant Earth also contained water.

There is strong evidence that Mars had extensive water on its surface. When Mars lost it magnetic field plasma ejections from the sun stripped Mars of its atomosphere and most of the water was lost. Recent findings reveal that at one time rivers flowed on its surface and chemicals found on Mars give strong evidence that Mars has water. Water has been found on the moon and earth like planets have been found. In the next decade we are going find planets with water. There is reason that Europa a moon of Jupiter has deep oceans beneath its surface. I am sure that there are millions of planets in our galaxy with water

Where can I get resveratrol?

be careful who you get it from, because some so-called resveratrol products do not contain enough resveratrol in them to be effective. They cannot be technically called scams because they do have some resveratrol in them – but, they are misleading because they do not have the proper concentration to be effective.

There are two products on the market which have been proven to have the effective amounts: ResV Pro and Resveratrol Select. These two were showcased on Oprah, Dr. Oz, and 60 minutes(among others). These are the 2 “big guys” which actually are providing the real thing, so if you get it from them, rest assured you are getting the real thing. They are not “scams,” as so many people are wary of.

Any other products may be substandard, so do your research before choosing any of them.

But why waste time doing that when you know that Resveratrol Select and ResV Pro are the real thing, as documented by Oprah, Dr. Oz, 60 minutes, and the Discovery Health channel?

Here is the difference between the two:

ResV Pro: Has the full amount of resveratrol you need, plus it is enhanced with green tea and acai berry. Each tablet has the equivalent of 200 glasses of red wine. These added ingredients help boost the effects of the resveratrol. Because acai and green tea have been proven to be excellent metabolism boosters, they help you break down the resveratrol much more efficiently and you'll see its effects a bit faster. I like this one because it kills 3 birds with one stone: acai, green tea, and resveratrol.

Resveratrol Select: Simply contains the best and highest quality resveratrol, each tablet containing the equivalent of 200 glasses of red wine. Also, an excellent product and and 100% Pure.

There is a great website I'll put in the resource box with more information on ResV Pro and Resveratrol Select – plus, they have a special on ResV Pro: If you order the free trial bottle from them, they will reimburse your shipping, and also give you 5 free health eBooks absolutely free – it's something you should take advantage of, as it will not last much longer.

This website is not just a “sales” website, but they have lots of info and articles, updated everyday for your evaluation.

That's where I got mine, and the eBooks are highly informative and helpful. All the details are in the website below.

Why does everyone assume that extraterrestrial life requires water to exist?

Basically, it's because water has so many wonderful properties that help life, and other materials don't. Sure, you *could* have life that uses alcohol, or ammonia, or silicon, or oil -- but the probability seems very very low. So low, it fact, that it's hardly worth spending much time and effort working on it.

Yes, extraterrestrial life would have a different physiological composition. But the basic chemistry would most likely be the same. That's because water, oxygen and carbon are so common, and form a large variety of compounds. A moderately large fraction of these compounds are water based and life-reactive; that's not true for non-water based compounds.

Besides, not *everybody* assumes that extraterrestrial life requires water. Robert A. Freitas, Jr., J. B. S. Haldane, V. Axel Firsoff, and several other scientists have seriously thought and written about non-water based life.
