What are ways to help with anxiety and depression?

What are some ways to help with anxiety and depression without meds, because when my doctor prescribes me meds for panic attacks, anxiety and depression, i freak out even more because i don't know what it is going to do to me. So they actually do more harm than good. I get to where for a while i may be ok, but then i get like this for about anywhere from a few weeks to months where i can not even get out of my van to go into walmart, or leave my house, be around people, i get depressed thinking about things that happened in the past, and all kinds of crazy stuff. Any suggestions on maby how to help this without meds? Like maby something i could do, or start eating or things to avoid?

What helps anxiety? ?

I have anxiety disorder. my personal faves for at least alleviating anxiety is doing crosswords, try avoiding as much caffeine seriously you will notice a major relief without it. Talking on the phone to a friend about something random, it helps take your mind off of it and after your mind has been distracted you will feel more at ease.
I've had general anxiety disorder for several years, mine has never completely gone away but it's not as severe as it used to be. I have tons of tricks, ideas and suggestions if you want more. These are just the basics, if you want more feel free to ask. I know how terrifying this can be, especially if it's a first time thing. If nothing else, I can talk/chat you through it, I find the distraction method to be the best thing.

Hi, i am a 20 yr old male who currently suffers from social anxiety. I have tried many ways to help overcome it such as asking my doctor, seeing psycologists numerous times and even talking to a close friend, though i am still having trouble. My first sexual experience was at age 19 with a prostitute. This was a difficult event for me to go through, and a decision which i regret. I was under alot of peer pressure at the time and had some difficulty with being underweight (self esteem issues). This all lead to my lack of confidence with girls. I felt the prostitute would help with my confidence which would overcome my anxiety, which it did not. I have never had a girlfriend, and as i am the shy quiet type, i find it hard to meet and approach women. Just recently i read an article saying sex is one of the most wonderful and pleasant stress & anxiety management techniques and even though most of us lead busy lives, you can always find time for sex. In my case, this proves very difficult. So to narrow my question, would sex with a girl (not a prostitute), be the answer to overcoming my confidence/anxiety issues? If so how do i build the confidence to make this happen?

Crate training is a great way to help with anxiety. Buy a crate for your dog. A crate offers a sense of safety for your dog. Look into crate training, so that when you aren't home or when your dog is anxious they will find comfort in their crate.
