We Always Hear About Police Corruption In Country A B Or C What About Police Corruption In The Us

What should this country do to stop police corruption?

Ask police for a cut in the take. Tell them what you want to do with your share of the protection money paid in not to prosecute prominent criminals. (Computer room at library, etc.) Ask them for a job counting money at the station or a puff of the weed they confiscate (just kidding, you ain't gonna get it)

I think it is impossible to generalize about the US police because there are so many organizations in different parts of the country, each with their own history and cultural attitudes about corruption. In my home state of Tennessee, each incorporated town (and there are 347 of them) has its own police force. In some very small towns that force may consist of one person. There are 95 counties in Tennessee each with their own Sheriff's department. There are the Tennessee State Troopers who are responsible for the patrolling the highways. There is the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The TBI is the state equivalent of the Federal FBI, who also have offices in the state. Then there are all the government regulatory officers who have a law enforcement function. We all know the stories about the corrupt small town Sheriff. These stories often have a basis in fact. Perhaps the Sheriff turns a blind eye to the activities of the drug dealing son of a county official. Perhaps they choose to patronize their nephews car dealership exclusively for new patrol cars and maintenance. Sheriffs are elected officials and they often have enormous power in a small rural community. Then there is the big city police force with half the officers on the take from the local crime syndicate. Remember Frank Serpico with the NYPD? Recently the New Orleans PD has been the subject of many Federal investigations into police corruption. So, just because Officer Friendly doesn't shake you down in lieu of a speeding ticket doesn't mean that the US police are free of corruption. Our culture wouldn't stand for open corruption. So, it is always hidden.

Is this Police Corruption..?

Move back to your black neighborhood if you don't like it. When I lived in an all black neighborhood the police always harassed me because I was white and didn't fit in. If I was giving one of my black friends a ride home that took me through a low-income black housing development, we were pulled over. Why? Because I was a white man with a black man in a black neighborhood, it was a drug deal what else? As soon as I sassed the cop, demanded to know why I was pulled over, and wouldn’t let them search my car, I was suddenly some heinous criminal. In short order, I was surrounded by three to five cop cars. I never faltered or gave in to their demands. Eventually I grew tired of this, the cheap housing wasn’t worth the racism I had to put up with from blacks and the cops so I moved deep into white country. I haven’t seen a black for years and I no longer get pulled over.

Almost nobody fear the Law & break the Law.In many cases people make video but doesn't help accident victim. Most people doesn't trust Politicians, Police & even judiciary. There are more than 3 crore Court cases are pending.Govt hospitals always have long ques of patient waiting for treatment.People doesn't want to send their kids to Govt schools. In any govt service you go, you will be asked for bribe.Politicians are getting richer day by day legally with black money. We trust banks who have our money but bank officials always involved in Scams.Value of LIFE in India is nothing, people aren't afraid to Kill or Rape.We are still dependant of foreign countries to buy most of our countries arms & weapons.(so many scams in defence sector)India doesn't even win one Gold medal at Olympics or maybe 1 or 2. As politicians who are supposed to encourage sports in India try to fill their pockets.Whatever the condition of India is, Corruption is behind everything. Corruption is root cause of every problem in India.

Why do we always think Politicians and Corruption are spoiling our country ?

Ans 1. a) To make sure the right Politicians only come to power - a detail & cristal clear information including bio-data of politicians with the history of their background should be provided to gen public atleast 1 month before the elections.

1 b) Mass awareness campaigns should be done before elections similar to Polio Awareness Mission, AIDS mission. Govt., Judiciary & Election Comm. were never serious in promoting awareness for elections.

2 a) Govt. should adopt new concepts to nab errant govt servants like - Frequent Sting Operations by Police, CID, Anti Corruption Buerea etc., Suprise visits & checking Cash counters / accounts (like the one done recently at SBI, Jaipur)

2 b) Indian Police (except some major cities) uses outdated techniques like many havildar still use Lathis, Dandas etc. In case of terrorists attachs it becomes even worst who use advance techniques like GPS systems, Super gadgets on the contrary police uses lathis to sheu them off.

2 c) With the recent hike in salaries of MPs the time came that there should also be a Performance Appraisal system for them once/twice in a year. The datas of such appraisals should be provided to general public (in all National / Regional Lang.) which would be helpful in deciding at the time of elections.

But this is only half-way done. There is one crucial thing which needs to be done is to strengthen our Judiciary system. Our Judiciary system is outdated. Its just a Copy & Paste British Judiciary system which is still on run.

Well still there are many things which needs to be changed and there so much little time to waste. So, go & work sincerely & efficiantly and do justice to your work and that would be a good start !!!

Have gr8 day ! byeee

A nation is corruption free when all process in government offices happen in transparent manner. All government officials should perform their duties and all citizens should avail those services without any “bribe” in between. In a corruption free country, all government officials will do his duties properly, hence all citizens including government officials will always prefer government services when compared to private services. That’s one obvious parameter.

To prevent police corruption, you have to police the police.Cops are around to enforce the laws in a disinterested way - that is, without fear, favour or bias. They see you committing a crime, they arrest you. They discover that you’ve committed a crime, they arrest you. However, that’s all the police do. They don’t put you on trial or convict you, because we strongly believe that cops should not also be judge and jury.Police corruption has to be treated the same way: the police cannot be their own police, judge and jury - not because they’re not trustworthy (gosh, perish the thought), but because it presents an irresolvable conflict of interest. You need an independent body that can investigate complaints against police, compel testimony and evidence, and make findings of fact that can then be referred to the courts. This independent body also needs to have clear rules and laws that set standards for police behaviour and clear penalties for misbehaviour. If these things are in place and you hire people who will do their job with decent competence, you’ll quickly start cracking down on police corruption because corrupt cops will realise there’s a very good chance they’ll get caught.Of course, it’s easier said than done because all of these things have to go right to succeed. But that’s how you’d do it.

First of all, we have to understand we live in a system ran by a monopoly on initiating force and violence, and law enforcement is the branch that dishes it out. They are the ones morally culpable for the violence they initiate in the name of unethical, archaic, and bigoted laws because they enforce those laws. Ultimately police corruption could be prevented by abrogating the state the employs them. Until then;Abolish public unions. Police unions are the political means by which police are protected from the ramifications of the crimes they commit. Collective bargaining is supposed to keep employers from abusing their workers, since the state is supposed to be fair why is this practice needed in the public sector?Allow victims of police brutality to sue for reparations from the offending officer’s pension fund or personal funds in lieu of taxpayer funds. Taxation is theft to pay for social/tangible infrastructure and is double theft to pay for the state’s mistakes.Make every officer/agent carry professional insurance that they pay for out of pocket. Every time there is an incident, the premium gets higher until that individual is uninsurable. No insurance-no badge.Set up a law enforcement blacklist. Many cases of police brutality involves a history of violent behavior and officers simply moved to other municipalities. Had those officers been banned from police work, hundreds of people would be alive today.Contract a private security firm instead. Not only would it be less expensive due to competition from an already existing industry, any firm that employs people with a penchant for violent or unstable behavior would surely go out of business very quickly. A private firm would have more reason to vett their security better to avoid costly mistakes and litigation. These are just examples to treat the symptoms, however. The root cause is still a state entity that thrives on coercive slavery, subjugation, and the legislation of immoral laws.

Human Nature. Police are corruptible… It takes a great deal of effort to walk away from taking a little off the top of a million dollars. Cops have families to feed, divorced wives to support, children to put through child support and school. Habits to feed or keep at bay. COPS are human. SO if one starts down that slippery slope they have to look at is the pay off better then my pay from the department…. also CAN I GET AWAY with it…My Uncle took down 6 cops in Dallas PD. Lieutenant down to a patrol officer. it was a Drug sting in the department. The Chief was HOT, the US DEA never told him they were going to CLEAN HIS HOUSE. Chiefs do not appreciate this at all. It was a pretty good scheme. Steal from dealers jail them and skim off the top BEFORE the evidence is even gathered and logged. But of course the POLICE know how to skirt the system that they use to catch thieves. It takes the POLICE POLICE (Not IAD) to catch them. That Thin Blue line keeps many good cops from ratting out the bad ones. Also the Police Unions would just get them back their jobs and have the convictions over turned maybe a pay increase and a promotion over a good cop, so why should good cops even bother turning in bad ones????I Personally know only 3 cops that will arrest bad cops in the entire Dallas Fort Worth Area. THAT IS SAD. Oh and those 3 have arrested cops in uniform on duty and off.

Some of the most obvious examples are officers who willsteal money, drugs, weapons, or other property/contraband while on dutycommit other crimes while on duty (officers have been arrested and convicted for a wide variety of crimes, from sexual assault to drug dealing to murder)expecting other officers to ignore criminal activityignoring criminal activity by other officerscommit crimes while off duty (again, officers have been arrested and convicted for a wide variety of crimes committed off duty)"fixing" a traffic citation or tampering with evidence as a personal favor (or for profit)These practices may be committed by individual officers or small teams of officers.  Department-wide corruption is also a possibility, and there are too many examples of entire departments being shut down or subjected to Federal oversight in response to corruption claims.
