We Wish To Name Our House Which Should Have Few Alphabets Of Abhijit

What's the difference between s & 's at the end of a word?

There are many ways in which a "s"is added at the end of a word.1. The most common is the "s" used to denote a belonging. Suppose you own a trophy. We will say "It is Abhijith's trophy". Here the meaning is the trophy ONLY belongs to you.Or "It is a children's park", meaning the park is for children.2. But suppose we want to say a belonging belongs to a group of individuals then the ' will come after the "s" if the plural of that word ends with an "s"Example: "Boys' locker room"Here it means the locker room is for "boys". The word used "boy" has a plural form boys that ends with a "s". It will be wrong to say It is a boy's locker room as it would mean the locker room belongs only to a particular boy.3. The other 's comes to use in case of abbreviations of two words such as what is=what's, It is= It's, How is=how's, etc.4.And when there is no apostrophe comma with a s, generally it denotes the plural of that word. Ex: Boys, boxes, pens, etc.I hope this helps. cheers. :)
