Weakness In Left Elbow Followed By Tingling In My Hand/fingers

Does pain in left hand ring finger mean something?

Aside from the other answers, are you experiencing any numbness or tenderness in your forearm muscles/tendons connected to ring finger? A chronic nerve impingement in your neck (ruptured or degenerative disk, etc) can manifest its effect as pain, numbness, or weakness that translates down from your neck, through your shoulder and rotator cuff and down your arm to your fingers. Of the various symptoms that I mentioned, weakness is probably the most serious and likely merits a trip to the doc. Hopefully, it’s just an acute condition/local injury of some sort.

Tingling and numbness in hands (feels like the "fall asleep") alot?

Well, it can be cause by how you have you arm laying at the time it falls asleep.. if you are resting on your elbow you may be pinching a nerve. It can also be cause by carpal tunnel syndrome, which is the pinching of nerves and blood thru the wrist. If its getting worse, then you should check with your doctor.

I had my wrist operated on for carpal tunnel when I was in 8th grade.

Heres a great web page for more information on carpal tunnel, see if it helps.

What is causing my left hand to be numb, tingly, and weak?

Recently I've noticed that I am having a difficult time with my left hand. It has become quite numb and tingly (particularly in my pinky and ring finger), and occasionally hurts when I make a fist. I've also noticed that it has become rather weak as well. I am having a difficult time typing, opening clothes pins, latchinghooks on garments, etc., etc., because it feels so weak.

On a side note which may be related, I have had juvenile onset diabetes for 20 years now, but I have not experienced any problems with neuropathy in my legs or feet.

Also, the numbness and tingling has happened before (although the weakness is a new thing), but it usually goes away within a day or so. This has been going on for about a week now.

Thanks!

Finger and hand numb/tingly?

This started last sunday, and has not gone away. My ring and pinkie finger feel somewhat numb and tingly to the point where it feels as though it is somewhat asleep as well as half of my hand. I don't think or hope it is carpal tunnel because the symptoms of carpal tunnel involve tingling and burning in the index, thumb and middle fingers. I don't know what it could be, it has happened before but it went away. I do use my computer everyday and only work on the weekends as a cashier. I read that it mainly occurs in older adults and I am 18 right now. I am going to the doctor soon but wanted to see what other people think. Any ideas?

I have numbness in my pinky, ring, and middle fingers, random pains along my arm, and a weak grip. Why?

This all started two weeks ago. I woke up in the morning with the worst back pain ever, right behind my shoulder blade. It lasted all day. That night, as I was trying to work out the muscles against a corner of the wall, my pinky and ring fingers suddenly went tingly, then numb. By the next day my middle finger was numb and I had very little grip strength between my thumb and index finger. I was also getting random spasms in my back and tricep (those are gone now). The numbness is always there, though sometimes there is less of it. The pain comes and goes seemingly at random. Sometimes the pain is *very* intense (enough to put me on the floor). My symptoms match cubital tunnel, except for the pain at different points along my arm and the fact that my middle finger is numb, too.

My Left arm and hand fingers feel numb?

you have probably pinched a nerve in your neck which has now caused you to have numbness and even possible weakness in your arm. You would do best seeing a Chiropractor. If you do not believe in them, I did not until I was in a major car wreck and had whiplash. If it had not been for the Chiropractor I would not have been able to go back to work. (I am an Occupational Therapist - so most therapists kinda stay away from Chiro. and lean towards physical therapy) If you do not have a Chiropractor, call around to find one that has been out of school for around 5 to 15 years - the nurses can tell you. They will be up to date but experience enough . It will cost around 150-200.00 for first visit because of x-rays but it is worth it.

My left pinky and ring finger are becoming tingly and numb...?

don't worry
it happened to me about a year ago

you just pinched a nerve
its nothing to make a big deal about.

it'll go away eventually
i can't remember how long mine went away, but it did.

seriously,
you don't need to freak out about it.
you'll be fine.
just be patient.

:D
