Wearing Colored Contacts Thru Airport Security

Wearing colored contacts thru airport security?

Hey!
Ok, so I naturally have light brown eyes and recently I ordered colored contacts which are a pure hazel. I'm traveling to a different country in about 2 wks my question is that can I wear my hazel contacts thru security even though on my passport photo I am photographed with my natural eye color. Is there going to be an issue with security if I choose to wear my hazel contacts?

Thank You!

Why do passports from different countries vary in color?

The color is simply the choice of each country. There is no international standard or governing body that decides or dictates a passport’s color however international standards have dictated the size of the passports to be uniform and comply with minimum standards for entry into a territory or sovereign nation. The standards include a photo , full name, date of birth and expiration date. Some countries won’t allow entry if your passport is within 6 months of expiring and some countries require that photos show the person without s smile. This is for identification purposes. We don’t normally walk around with a smile plastered to our faces.Passports by the way are only to my knowledge made in four colors. Black, blue, red and green.

Do contact lenses count as a liquid if you bring them in your carry on?

In the United States, no more than 3.4 ounces of liquids can be brought in your carry on. Usually, contact lenses would not exceed the 3.4 ounce rule if the supply of contact lenses is less than 2 weeks worth but since this would enough for a years supply, it could very well exceed the carry on board limit. If the contact lens fluid totals more than 3.4 ounces, you have three options.#1 Put in checked baggage- this could potentially be a costly solution as many airlines charge hefty prices for checked baggage.#2 Mail- This could also potentially be costly dependent on the weight of contact lenses and the shipping speed.# 3 Discard contacts and purchase new ones

Does Walmart Vision Center accept Medicaid?

You need to call the Walmart Vision Center you plan to visit and your Medicaid MCO (The company on your insurance card) if your state has them. Some Walmart's accept Medicaid, some don't. Vision benefits vary from MCO to MCO. The basic Medicaid benefit *shoud* cover your exam, single vision lenses (ie not bi or tri focals) and a limited number of frame options once every two years for adults. If you have an MCO, some offer richer benefits. I've seen some who will go so far as covering contacts even if they are not medically necessary.

Can surgeons wear any shoes?

I am a surgeon and i wear cowboy boots to the OR routinely. And no, i do not live or come from Texas.Shoes serve a purpose in the OR like they do in most other situations. They protect your feet from guts and gore that sometimes escapes the operative field. They provide a firm/hopefully comfortable footing to stand on during those long days of operating and hopefully not leave the OR with plantar fascitis or generally achy feet. Some surgeons prefer clogs since they are usually waterproof, comfortable and easy to slip your feet in and out of if u want ur toes fo breath while ur hands are doing the hard work. I personally did not find them comfortable even with orthotics and usually had foot pain at the end of the day.More recently i have tried vibram fivefingers. While they give the most natural support/protection to my feet, they do catch some unwanted attention and they are not particularly water/blood proof so i have to make sure i put shoe covers on them. Also in cardiac surgery ORs when the room is freezing at baseline, i do feel like my toes will get frost bite unless i wear woolen toe socks with them. Some will even go barefoot, especially when sitting on the robotic console, which brings up a whole slew of questions related to hygeine, but hey, its ur feet and ur health. Some make it a point to have separate shoes for the OR to minimize cross contamination between the Or and outside world. But you can easily avoid that with shoe covers. So in short, you can wear pretty much any shoe to the OR that serves the purpose, although some more unconventional choices may raise some eyebrows.

Can you wear glasses for a drivers license photo?

Not any more, unless your state is ignoring current security protocols. It is actually international policy now, places that allowed glasses before require they be removed for driver licence photos, for the simple reason that glasses are the easiest, fastest, and most used form of disguise. Homeland Security mandates it for the US, and it is mandated in every province in Canada.
Basically, driver licence photos are expected to follow the same standards as passport photos.
By the way, the name on your driver licence has to follow legal format, the standard on your birth certificate, no nicknames any more, no JR or SR unless it is part of your legal name, either. If your licence doesn't conform to international standards, it will be useless if you try to travel outside Australia.

If an "FBI officer" doesn't know the current rules from his own Homeland Security, there is something wrong. I suggest he isn't FBI, rather he is FIB (Fibbers In a Basket).

If Georgia is allowing you to choose to wear glasses, they are issuing identification that does not meet standards as set by Homeland Security. If you travel internationally with that as id, you may have trouble, and if you travel domestically after 2011, you may have trouble.
There is a standard called the Real ID act, which a state can stay out of, but that is not a good thing, and here is why.
"After 2011, "a Federal agency may not accept, for any official purpose, a driver's license or identification card issued by a state to any person unless the state is meeting the requirements" specified in the REAL ID Act. States remain free to also issue non-complying licenses and IDs, so long as these have a unique design and a clear statement that they cannot be accepted for any Federal identification purpose. The federal Transportation Security Administration is responsible for security check-in at airports, so bearers of non-compliant documents would no longer be able to travel on common carrier aircraft without additional screening"

So, unless, and until, the REAL ID ACT exempts wearers of glasses from wearing them for the photo, you will need to take them off. Note, wearing of coloured contacts is also specifically disallowed.
