Website Where I Can Order Custom Gift Cards Not To Be Swiped As A Credit Card

Can you buy a gift card with a credit card?

I can only answer with certainty for the place I work at which, obviously, is Walmart (since it says so next to my name). The question was merged so I’m answering whether or not you can buy with debit and/or credit card.Debit card - yes if it is a flat fee gift card, such as a Walmart gift card or a gift card for Domino's or Pizza Hut or Panera bread. As long as it is a flat fee ( you pay ten dollars to put ten dollars on the gift card ) then it should be fine as long as you are using a pin based debit card.Debit card for prepaid cards and/or credit card gift cards - my experience has been you must pay with cash or pin based debit card. MOST will not allow you to purchase credit with credit ( a gift card, especially the credit gift cards or prepaid are many times used as credit not debit cards; however, if your prepaid or even credit gift card has a pin with it then you might be able to use it ).This brings me to continue with my answer with:Credit Cards - Usually no. Stores can differ (between retailers) but as far as I know most will be the same way. If the card does not work with a pin then you will be unable to purchase a prepaid card and/or a fee gift card ( such as the credit card gift cards ) because, as stated previously, you cannot buy credit with credit.Again this is iffy. I have had people have no problem buying say a master card gift card with a visa credit card but I cannot say without a doubt that it will work and you are best off purchasing with cash.In addition. If you plan to buy many or a high monetary value you will more than likely need (have to) go to the customer service area.

How can I activate a stolen gift card and redeem it?

If the gift card is truly not activated, like someone swiped it off the rack at the store and snuck it out without taking it through the cashier process… it's almost certainly just a dumb, worthless piece of plastic. The activation process conducted by the cashier is what creates the corresponding entries in the database at the payment processor, linking that card number with a stored value amount. Usually the gift card packaging is clearly labeled, “No value until activated by cashier,” so you don't waste your time and effort.I suppose you could take this “stolen” gift card and sneak it back into the store, and hand it to a cashier with some cash or your own credit card, to have it activated properly… but that hardly seems worth the risk over just grabbing a fresh one legitimately. Keeps a tiny bit of excess plastic and cardboard out of the landfill, I suppose.

Is it illegal to copy a credit card on a copier?

Hi. I worked tech support for a major CC processor for about 2 years, so I've had to advise many merchants of this very issue.
When a credit card machine is out of order for whatever reason, it is not only legal but advisable to get an impression of the card. A photo copy is not good enough, by the way. To cover yourself for liability, you need an actual physical impression of the card as proof that it was handed to you. It's best to have a manual imprinter on hand, but even laying a piece of paper over the card and using the side of a pencil or a crayon to obtain the impression is ok.
Also-make sure you are calling your CC processor's voice authorization line to get a valid autho of the card, otherwise you might get a decline later. Have the customer sign a receipt for you, showing the card number, the exp date and the authorization number so there's no mistake down the road that the customer authorized use of the card.
Getting the authorization number into a working CC machine differs from machine to machine, sometimes labeled "Offline", or "Post-Auth". Have your CC processor's customer service walk you through that if you are unsure.

What happens after a prepaid visa gift card runs out?

I wanna get my friend a prepaid Visa gift card so he can by games online... anyway, the question is: If the Visa card runs out, like say it has like $4 left and he buys a game that's like $5, does it act like a credit card and bill/charge him, or does it just not simply let him make the purchase.

*you can enable online purchasing by registering your name and address etc on the Visa website after gift card purchase
