Pain for the constant pee and poop. As they have small bladders. They will start teething and chew furnitures and clothes slippers. So you need a lot of patience. There will be a time where you will get fed up and give up. But stay and wait it out it will pass. You need to move all things above ground at least a table hight if you want to be safe. Don't give in to whining, as that is their secret weapon to get treats and make you bow down.Get your pet vaccinated and dewormed.Get a chew toy or toys.Give the puppy space to explore, too much attention will cause it to panic if left alone.Define it's eating and sleeping area.Don't feed after 8 or 9 pm. Lucky for the dog, dogs sense of smell can keep them in good stead (at least they'll be able to find food). But you really need to think, is it worse for this dog to live its whole life in that condition? Does it have any other problems? I know this will sound cruel to a lot of people, but perhaps it is kinder to let it go (take it to a vet to have it done though). Remember a dogs sense of hearing is very good. I'm not sure how happy it would be not being able to hear. Sorry to be the negative one, but I like dogs too much to keep one alive that is just going to have a poor life. Dogs seem pretty capable if they have their sense of hearing and smell (ie blind dogs somehow get around...dogs can't see that well anyway).

It will likely never be 100% cured. But a dog can live a long happy life with demodex. It is heriditary and is NOT contageous. You may or may not have to ever treat him, every dog is different. Usually extreme neglect cases will cause major flare up. It can be managed and a low stress environment is essential for the dog so the demodex doesnt flare up. This means, if he isnt comfortable being left alone all day, he shouldnt be. Possibly another dog friend could help with this (but that would come later if you notice it flareing up). They also shouldnt be left in extreme weather conditions for long periods of time. Keep them cool and comfortable or warm and toasty. If its a shy dog, dont press too hard for affection, that could be stressful. Basically, if you can ensure the dog would have a happy stress free life, go for it. Just know what youre getting into and ask LOTS of questions. Chances are, if this dog is fairly symptom free in a shelter setting, it should have very little problems in a home setting, but he might also have other dog friends to keep him company, which could be calming for him, so youll need to find that out.
