Wedding Reception Help

Wedding reception Linen help???

A floor length round tablecloth, as you might guess, fits a round table and goes all the way to the floor. A Banquet tablecloth fits a rectangular banquet table, and usually hangs down only about six inches or so from the table. Skirting goes around the banquet table, covering that which the tablecloth doesn't, to the floor. A topper is usually a more decorative fabric laid over top of the tablecloth like this: http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11218392/...

The round tables are usually what people are seated at while eating; they will need floor length round tablecloths with the OPTIONAL topper. The banquet tables are usually where the food is laid out for buffet style serving and also need those rectangular tablecloths. Some people skip the skirt, but I think it looks bad and certainly takes away from the look of the room as a whole.

Other options are chair covers like shown in the photo above and sashes in your wedding colors.

Backyard wedding and reception!? Help!!?

My wedding changed completely but originally we just hired an Officiant that I found online. I met with him & he was great. He does non-denominational or anything you want. No meetings required.

You can do just about anything for food. You can stick to a certain type of cuisine like Italian, Greek, Mexican or you can just do a bunch of different types. Finger foods are awesome for a wedding. Shrimp cocktail, mini tostadas, taquitos, buffalo wings, eggrolls, finger sandwiches, cheese platters, fruit & veggie trays, antipasto salad, prosciutto, mortadella, brie cheese in a french bread bowl, etc. Or you can just hire a caterer to do something more substantial like a prime rib or grilled chicken, roasted garlic potatoes, green beens or another vegetable, maybe asparagus in a butter sauce. The caterer will bring the dishes & serving wear to keep the food warm if you want to go that route. Also, I don't know if you have them where you live but Boston Market is great. You can order whole hams or turkeys with all the sides & it's great.

As for the weather you can always rent a tarp. It's very hot where I was going to do mine so I was thinking of having some fans. Make sure to think about the centerpieces. When I was planning the backyard thing I wanted tables with umbrellas but then I realized it would screw up my centerpieces.

Best of luck. I'm sure it will work out just fine. You can always do what I did. Go get married by yourselves & then have a party for everyone when you come back. It's a lot less pressure. I was totally stressed so I canceled the whole thing & got married on the beach. It was pure bliss.

Soup at a wedding reception, need help.?

My sister is thinking about serving soup at her wedding reception for a fall wedding. Different soups, lots of toppings. I love love the idea, but we are trying to figure out how to serve it. You don't want plastic bowls cause it can be messy. We thought about mugs, but then that gets pricey and defeats the whole purpose of saving money with the soup idea. Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

Cheap Wedding Reception HELP PLEASE?

I'm about to go nuts trying to decide what to do! I am getting married at the church that I've always wanted to get married at, and it's only $750 because I chose to do January for the month we get married. But the reception is about to drive me nuts. First of all, we have a daughter, live in an only okay apartment, and don't have a good car (our car breaks down all the time). My mom is pushing me to have an extravagant reception, and of course, I want that for myself also. But my parents are only paying for half of it, which they shouldn't be, seeing as how they DON'T HAVE AN AIR CONDITIONER and it's about to be summer in TEXAS. What could I do, and where to have a nice wedding reception for CHEAP!? The cheapest really nice reception we've found would be $5000 for food, drinks, rental, and decor.
Is it trashy to have it at a restaurant and have guests pay for themselves?? and how would I tell them that??
Sorry sooo long!

Wedding reception layout help! How many people can fit per table?

Hi.

For the 72" round table.....8-10 people. 8 comfortably and 10 a little "squishy."

For the 96" long tables.....it's not as many as you think. Yes, that is 8 feet, but you must remember the legs on the table. Look at this picture:
http://www.differrentals.com/images/tabl...

We have these tables at the church that I work at. We put 3 chairs on each side with 1 on each end....so 8 total people. You could "squish in" 4 on each side if you want....but if you don't have to, it's lots nicer to give people arm room to eat!

Having a wedding reception too early? Please Help!!!?

Have a two hour cocktail period and start the dinner at around 5PM. Or extend the ceremony a bit. You could also move the ceremony to a different time, say around 3PM. Besides, if everyone arrives at the church around 2PM, there's bound to be some people late, plus last minute details with your dress, the groom's tux, the bridesmaids, probably have to track down a flower girl, you're looking at around 2:30 there at least. I've never been to a wedding that started the time that it said on the invitation. Usually I was sitting there for about an hour. Serve dinner a little earlier and have a visiting/cocktail period between.

Is 3.5 hours too short for a wedding reception?

I think anywhere from 3 to 5 hours is good for a wedding reception. A lot of people leave within an hour or so of dinner being over anyway.

West Coast Wedding, East Coast Reception? Help please!?

Heres the deal. I grew up in Oregon and half of my family still lives there. My finace's whole family is in ohio. We decided we wanted to get married at my family's beach house in oregon, since is beautiful and a free venue. We have already started making plans. We had originally planned to just have our wedding shower and engagement party in Ohio to make sure we could include his extended family. Last night I asked him what his family thought about our location and he said some were hoping that we'd switch the location to ohio... I'm crushed.

I dont want his family to have to miss out and I'm terrified they will think I'm some sort of bridezilla. Once I came to my senses and relized that was completetly irrational I started planning a 2nd celebration out here in ohio for his family.

My questions are how to go about this? Invite everyone to both celebrations? Send out the invites on the same day? Spend eqaul amounts of the budget on each? Any thoughts? Please...

How you can save money from wedding reception venues?

Have a smaller wedding reception. There is no way you can even see 300 people on one occasion. You’ll save on food, favors, and all the rest if you keep it well under 100.Trimming your guest list will also open up a more full range of options because there will be more places that can accommodate a smaller number of people. Then, choose wisely. Options include your home/yard or someone else’s; parks, beaches, public gardens. Near me, one of the historical homes is now a museum. Its garden is available as an event venue.Various restaurants and hotels, of course, have unique event rooms, too. If you want something like that, call around and ask different places what their rates are, and whether they can offer better for smaller groups, or for certain times of the year, day, or week.Click here for know more about wedding banquets in Mumbai
