Wedding Timeline Starting At 2 00 Pm

Getting married at 26? What should my timeline be?

Here's my question. You're 26, you both have full-time jobs - what's stopping you from looking at houses now? I understand that maybe you would need to save for another year to make a down payment or something. But if you want a house, and you know that you plan on staying in your city for the next few years, why not start looking? Figure out what neighborhoods you like, and exactly how much you can afford to spend. Browse the listings on sites like Redfin and look for open houses. Get pre-approved for a loan. There are a lot of steps between saying "I want a house" and actually signing the papers - why not take a few of them and see where it leads? It's not as easy as snapping your fingers, but if you have money in the bank and can put the time into looking at real estate, you could certainly own a home within the next year.

And if you get pregnant while saving/looking - well, babies are born to people living in apartments all the time, in every city in the world. I understand that it's not your preferred timeline, but you shouldn't feel that you CAN'T have a baby if you're still looking for a house. You absolutely can, and it will be absolutely fine.

It is so daunting to put "house" and "baby" on your to-list - those are huge items. Try breaking it down into smaller chunks. "Redo budget to save $1000 a month toward potential down payment." "Go to three open houses every month." "Ask friends for recommendation for real estate agent." "Get pre-approved for loan." Those are all steps on the way to buying a house that will help you accomplish your goal. In a way, you can do the same for a baby. Figure out what you need (or want) to do before you have a child. "Get a physical and talk with doctor about preparing for pregnancy." "Spend two weeks in Europe." "Save $100 a month for potential baby expenses."

In other words, there's no right or wrong answer. What you really need to do is take some of the pressure off yourself to accomplish all these things by an arbitrary deadline. You've lived enough life to know that things - especially the big things - in life tend not to go as planned :)

Is it weird to start dinner at 4pm for a wedding reception?

The wedding venue I am seriously in love with requires that the party end at 8pm. If I work out the timeline backwards, that means dinner must be served at 4pm, if not sooner. As a guest, how would you feel about having dinner at 4pm? What about at 3pm? Is it acceptable? and if 4pm or 3pm is acceptable, is it considered late lunch or early dinner?

Wedding Reception Timeline?

5- Cocktails
6:15-toasts
6:30- Dinner
7:30-Cake
8:00-First Dance, bridal dance, followed by some get up and get moving stuff, (now is the time to all the traditional, locomotion, hokey pokey, shout, YMCA, etc)
9:00-bouquet and garter toss
9:30-Dollar dance (if you are having one, before the old people leave)
10:00 Dancing til your tushie falls off.... (hopefully you won't have bridesmaids puking all over their dresses like I did)

Having a catholic wedding ceremony at 2pm. Should we have reception immediately following or later in evening?

Very concerned about reception being too early in the day, however also concerned that people won't attend ceremony if we have too much time in between that and reception.

What was your timeline like for getting ready for your prom? What were the popular styles of dresses for prom?

I started looking for a dress in early March, my prom was in early April. I lived in Texas but I went to Michigan for spring break to check out colleges there, and I was going to find a dress there as well to ensure I had a truly unique dress since at my junior year prom another 2 girls had the same dress as me. But I ended up finding a dress before spring break. It was a two piece dress and I loved it. The top piece was connected behind my neck and near the skirt, so the back was open. Two piece dress are very in at the moment. The day of I woke up around 8, are breakfast and started getting ready with a moisturizing face mask, and washing my hair. Dried my hair and got my base makeup on (foundation, concealer, cream contour and highlight.) around 1 or 2 I had my hair appt, and that took about 2 1/2 hours, also because it’s a trend that when I get my hair done for an event my hair dresser and I get food delivered or have my mom pick food up.After getting my hair done, I went home to finish my makeup which was basically just eye makeup. Got dressed, kinda had to be sewn into my dress then waited for my friends to arrive so we could take photos. Had dinner around 6:00 and got to prom around 7:30 when it started.

What are some cool wedding dates for the year 2020?

Personal Preference can factor into a lot here.Is it outdoor? At Night? There are 4 supermoons in 2020. One of them being on May 7.Are they Harry Potter Fans? HP fans frequently Marry on May 2nd, (the Battle at Hogwarts-and a Saturday in 2020) or September 1st (The first day of School at Hogwarts).Do they like novelty dates? Then 10.10.2020 is nice, or 02.02.20.20 like Sabrina Suggested. I particularly like February since it will be a palindrome. Addition is popular too. Something like 6.14.20 (A Sunday)Some couples like to do a hybrid of their parents dates. Take the Bride’s parents wedding month, and the Groom’s parent’s day. Or Visa Versa. In my family Friday the 13th is good luck. Those dates are March 13th, and November 13th, 2020.Do they enjoy History? November 11th 2020 marks the 400th year since the Mayflower landed at Plymouth Rock. Those are just a few ideas. In the end what the couple is most interested in is what is best.
