Weeding And Viewing Ceremony Same Day What To Do

What is your weirdest experience after smoking weed, getting drunk or using any other drugs?

When I was a student and soon to be dropout, I lived near the beach in a house with two friends. One night we went to a party about 3 minutes drive up the hill.Once we arrived and looked around we smoked some pot that someone at the party had - and I got very stoned very fast. It wasn't your garden variety weed.I don't think we stayed at the party for very long (I certainly wasn't talking to anyone) and when I went to drive us home, my vision became affected. Basically everything I saw appeared like a cartoon - dark outlines, solid colors, little depth - cartoon-like is the best way I can describe it.Sane people would not drive in that condition. I'm fortunate I didn't have a collision, side-swipe twenty cars or get pulled over for driving at 10km/h.I can imagine what i looked like - staring out the windshield like a drooling possum with fully dilated pupils. The drive home was pretty scary and seemed to take a lot longer than 3 minutes. My mates provided important emotional support. The effect wore off pretty quickly once I got home.Since then, I have read of a drug that is known to sometimes produce that kind of visual disturbance and I can only assume the pot we smoked was laced with it.I'm older and wiser now. I was operating with a very limited brain and psyche in those years. I'm so lucky nothing terrible happened - well more terrible than the opportunity costs of a decade trying to medicate my emotional problems, and a decade getting back on track.I'm very sensitive physically, and vulnerable to mental health issues, so I'm lucky I only ever collapsed twice whilst high, and did not develop schizophrenia.Out in the big bad world, you don't know what you're taking unless you grow it yourself. When I realized that I had a problem and that I needed help from other people, I went to Narcotics Anonymous - I took it seriously and it worked.

Are there any substitutes to meditation, in terms of weeding out invalid thoughts and automatic behaviour from childhood?

I shall add another perspective to this discussion, by first refining the meaning of the word "meditation", which is quite a loaded word.In ancient Indian tradition, the word Bhavana is used, which means cultivating or developing. In this context of spiritual practice/personal development, we want to cultivate attributes such as kindness, patience, concentration, openmindedness... In English literature, Bhavana is sometimes translated to meditation, hence the confusion. The practice of sitting meditation limits external stimuli and allows the mind to settle. When the mind is settled, it becomes clearer, and we can direct this clarity into understanding our own mind. Hence, sitting meditation is a favorite tool for spiritual practice. However, given the definition of Bhavana, any practice that allows us to reflect upon ourselves can be defined as meditation. For me, writing helps to refine my thought process, and therefore it is a meditative practice. In the Japan, archery (kyudo) is often practiced as meditation. The ancient Greeks had the stoic tradition of analytical thinking, which comes really close to some Buddhist thoughts. The Buddha said that there are infinite beings with infinite variations of mind. Therefore, there are infinite variations of spiritual practices that can benefit every being. Thus, there is no cookie-cutter approach to spirituality. According to my understanding, the Buddha outlined the general framework that can be infinitely adapted to the benefits of any being. This explains the variety of Buddhist practices and traditions. Finally, my teacher said that spiritual practice requires a sense of consistency over time. For example, for beginner, it is not required to meditate for hours. 5 or 10 minutes a day can be sufficient. (IF you cannot spend 5-10 minutes a day on a spiritual practice, it is a sign of something really wrong and you really need to do reflection).Dipa Ma, a famous Indian meditation master of 20th century, showed the way to enlightenment for many students with only 10 minutes a day. Once you are used to spiritual practice, if you feel the need for longer practice, you will be able to make time for it.

Why is "weed day" on 4/20?

Actually, nobody knows for sure why 420 is connected to marijuana. None of the reasons you listen hold true, however.

The 420 connection seems to have begun in Northern California, where it was apparantly a popular time for students to smoke after getting out of school. Later, the Greatful Dead followers adopted it, incorrectly thinking it was a police code, and spread it throughout the country.

For years it was known mainly by the hippie community, who have a whole set of marijuana ettiquete rules, and now many in the growing underground pot-counter-culture movement know of it.

Many pot smokers still recognize 4:20 as a ritual time to smoke, although today, 420 is more of a code used to identify other smokers (see my name for example). April 20th is a pot-smoker's holiday only for the fact that the date is 4/20. There is no other connection.

How does an LSD trip compare with getting high on weed?

Okay, so for all of you out there who have tried both, how do they compare? Is an acid trip similar to marijuana but just more intense? Are they fundamentally different?

Do people still think weed is bad in 2018?

I think all drugs should be legal. I see prohibitionists and I think, they’re the ones who are insane, they are the ones who have no rational argument to support their position. And as long as people can hold laws in place while there is no logic or reason behind their position, we live in a dictatorship, not a democracy. My answer is, no one ever thought weed was bad. It was used as a medicine, hemp had industrial uses, and it was a popular recreational drug. However America did use racist propaganda to have it made illegal. The idea is that black people react with violence to recreational drugs because of their inferiority. This helped keep in place segregation in America and helped to criminalize non-whites. In prisons slavery is still legal, so for profit prisons are made. These places would be harder to keep up without drug laws.Use of drugs is not considered a crime in our society. Drugs are used as medicine, for recreation, and sometimes during religious ceremonies. The idea that some drugs are bad and should be punished by police counts as police harassment of the public and is a violation of privacy. Use of drugs is considered a crime by law. The law is not society. Society is the opinion of the people as a whole and even in a democracy that claims to reflect that, I would be ashamed if America reflected society’s opinions, because it would mark all people as monsters. We are under the influence of a spoiled aristocracy who wants to manipulate things to get what they want without caring who gets hurt in the process, they think they can claim that people agree with them, but the reality is that saying that weed is bad is so off base and insane that it sounds ridiculous and it always has sounded insane because the person calling marijuana bad has no proof for their accusations, and is just insulting, harassing, and ultimately mistreating an innocent citizen. It might be funny to a spoiled aristocrat to be worried about being thrown in a cage for drug use because they use drugs without worrying about the consequences. But to the average citizen it is mistreatment. It is like being a Jew during the holocaust. Or a Japanese person during WWII— the Japanese American could have lived here in America for decades and still be put in internment camps.People aren’t talking about this in America, how people actually think, because we live in a dictatorship with no freedom of speech.
