Weight Exercises And Knees

Exercise with bad knees?

Swimming and the elliptical trainer have saved me. Swimming is super easy on the knees and still gives you a great work out. I was a competitive swimmer with arthritis in one knee and rarely felt any pain. I actually have some workouts that burn a ton of calories real fast. While I'm at it, water aerobics are a great low pressure workout. I did a couple of classes while I was a lifeguard. You really feel the burn. I use the elliptical to switch it up. It is a really simple machine that keeps you from putting too much pressure on your joints. All the pounding from running is taken out.

What is the best exercises for bad knees?

Rather depends on what’s “bad” about your knees. Your knees are joints, they have no muscles, only connective tissue and cartilage. For many conditions, no exercise will be of benefit without some sort of other medical intervention. Exercise will not repair torn cartilage, nor do anything for osteoarthritis.Other conditions that can cause knee pain are excessive use injuries like “runners knee” which is an irritated tendon or tendons.See an orthopedist first and see what he recommends.

What are the exercises to reduce weight when you have knee pain?

Follow advice on this thread for weight loss - What are the best ways to lose weight? This question has been asked and answered 100s of times. If you are lucky, your knees haven’t had significant cartilage worn out and been ruined by bearing too much weight. A visit to your orthopedist will help determine what relief, if any, losing weight will provide. My personal story. Your personal situation may be different and my experiences may not be relevant.I was fat for many, many years. I lost almost 100 lbs at age 40 but still ended up needing to have two hips and one knee replaced between ages 55 and 63. My cartilage was shot. I was experiencing bone-on-bone rubbing. Even after I lost weight, my joints were sore. My orthopedists all said that losing weight and exercise would do a bit to alleviate pain, but would not fix the damaged joints. In fact, exercise, while excellent for helping weight loss and improving health, would make joint wear worse. A real dilemma. They did encourage weight loss, especially before surgery. It’s clear to me that if you lose weight, post-surgery recovery will be easier and less painful.

I want to lose weight what exercise can i do with back injuries knee arm and leg pain?

Eat a lot of green to dark green vegetables, and do light tai chi and yoga... light meaning, stay seated and hold your stomach in as tightly as you can then work those muscles without holding your breath. lift your legs slowly while sitting as many times as you can without straining them it may be once or twice but movement will eventually make you feel a little better...see your doctor also

I have asthma and bad knees how can i exercise?

Id say the best way to do cardio with bad knees would be to use a crosstrainer, its a brilliant machine and is very low impact for your joints, which may be better for your knees.
Long duration cardio, using the crosstrainer for 30-45 mins at a steady pace, 3 times a week, would probably be the best option for someone such as yourself with bad knees and asthma.

The soreness is probably a result of previous inactivity, so it may be difficult to start with, but you will find that after you have lost weight that crunches get easier because you are shifting less weight in the movement. However if the soreness is too much for you it can interupt your cardio, so for the time being it might be advisable to avoid crunches temporarily. You may also find that with weight loss, your knees and asthma get better.

As a personal note, I myself don't find skinny women attractive and your husband probably feels the same way, so dont assume that he wants you to be skinny ;)

Best of luck, if you have any other questions just ask :)
