Weight Loosing Question

Weight loss question.?

One pound per week, honey! Most people that lose weight, lose it too fast. Those that do, usually brag very quickly and do not only gain it all back, but they bring their friends!

I have been telling people this for years. Almost all issues of weight loss are relative to the individual, but the best rule of thumb is to use 500 calories more than you take in. (If you lose 500 calories per day, you will lose a pound per week. 500x7=3500 calories or 1 pound.) You can do this in a combination of ways: 1) Eat less calories; 2) Exercise more (expend more calories); 3) Do both!...One pound a week would get you your 40 pounds easily in 9 months!

Just a couple of simple principles to remember. If your total lifestyle doesn't change, you will only find temporary results. Probably the most important principle is that of motivation! One of the biggest motivaters actually becomes one of the biggest "wet blankets"... When you first start on a routine/diet, you usually lose weight a bit faster in the first week or so....but ...if you've added weight training to the regimen, you may actually gain weight! (You must remember that weight and fat are not the same thing!!) Two things can be the blame: 1) Exercise can "pump" typically unused mucsle with water and glycogen; 2) You may have actually built up mucsle mass. This one really discourages a lot of females, but you must remember, most are really wanting to lose size...not weight! As muscle weighs significantly more than fat, it is possible to gain weight and go down a size in dress!!! So it is typical to lose quickly in the first couple of weeks and then slow down to a more normal weight loss rate...don't let this deter you!! Motivation is the biggest wall to weight loss, so get a personal trainer, accountabillity partner, an exercise you love, a dog to walk, or something that will keep you at it....

And just an extra tip for good measure.... most people don't drink enough water to lose weight properly. Water is NEEDED to oxidize fat. No water=No fat loss!!! The AVERAGE person should drink 1/2 gallon of water a day!!!...that is the "8-8fluid ounces that you learned about in elementary school. (I used to use this as a gag/secret when I was a personal trainer. I have had women lose as much as 10 pounds in one month without even changing anything but their water intake.)

Another weight loss question....army dfac?

Right now I'm actually losing weight to join. I've lost a little over 40 pounds so far, but my recruiter told me that I have to lose 3/4 of an inch around my waist by the 17th because of a new body fat requirement. I run twice a day, 1.5 mile intervals, and I bike 6.9 miles with a sauna suit, rubber waist band, hoodie and sweatpants. I STAY AWAY FROM CARBS, because....well they're bad for you if you get too many. Carbs just turn into sugar which in turn sticks to you. Very little sodium in my diet, VERY VERY VERY little sugar, I can't stress how much you should stay away from sugar. No starches either, so no potatoes, fries, chips, popcorn, etc. I figured you'd have a mandatory P.T. every month, and if you do you can take some exercises from them to do. If not, just do a lot of abs and a lot of cardio. Fat free yogurts are good to snack on, although they don't satisfy me. After a while of cutting down on your foods (portion size, sugars, sodium, starch, carbs), you'll begin to get full faster. CUT THE BEER! You're in the Army, so I'm sure you drink on weekends. If not, good. If so, then stop. Getting rid of the alcohol will help tons. Run, bike, swim, abs, eat right and BAM! You get to be skinny again. I'm surprised that by gaining 60lbs they haven't had you lose it sooner. But anyway, best of luck to you. Oh, and try P90X, it works wonders.

What is the most annoying question regarding weight loss?

Annoying Questions About Weight Loss:1.     Medical Emergency Questions.  Holy shit, if you’re bleeding, get on the telephone and call medical emergency straight away!2.     Medically complicated persons asking exercise questions.  If you’re diabetic and want to become the one legged person training for the long jump with a personal and family history of heart disease and are all pharma’ed up with meds that affect your heart rate, you need to consult with your medical team and hire a professional to help you and CHANGE your training goals!  Asking for free advice on the internet is not for you! 3.     Minors/Children asking weight loss questions.  Bad bad bad.4.     People that weigh nothing and want to lose weight (clearly an eating disorder question and OUT OF SCOPE for an internet forum.  See a doctor!).  This is a tough one because some of these askers need help, but some of these askers are literally seeking eating disorders.5.     Super personal unique questions regarding weight loss where the person lists all their intake data.  “I’m 5’6 and weigh 100 pounds and ….”  That’s a session.  If you have questions like this then we are on the clock.6.     Robot food questions or testimonials which is bad enough, but where the end goal is to build their downline. Fad diet mania and all of the canned leading questions to suck everyone in from the person selling the fad diet crap. Question are also usually robot questions:  “Are you a personal trainer?” My inbox is full of this garbage.  They are basically asking “Can I have your client’s contact information?”  Haha, seriously?  Super duper NO to you.  I’ve written on robot food here: 5 Reasons Fad Diets Don’t Work7.     Holiday weight loss expert answers that are instant experts and want your time, i.e. “I’d like to share with you that I’ve been eating this new Tree Bark & Mud Square for all of my meals and have lost 800 pounds, and kept it off for 2 hours.  I’d love to show you all the information.”  My answer:  “No no no, no no, no no.”8.     So called “helping” others.  My needs to lose weight.  I’m sure the person asking is just perfect.  :)------Let me know if I can help. Sick with strep throat... weight loss question.?

If you go back to eating normally you will regain the weight. As much as we would like to think otherwise, there really is no magic answer to weight loss. There is no well kept secret, and no mystery solution, but there are simple things you can do that will help tremendously. Eat a healthy diet of about 1500 calories a day - you do need to learn to count calories and there are tons of sites that will help you with that, as well as the labels on foods. Start keeping a record everyday of what you eat, because we all usually tend to consume more calories than we think we do. Eliminate ALL junk food, sodas, pop, sweets, fried foods, fast foods, fruit juices, and processed foods. Everyday eat fruit, veggies, a few nuts, lean meat and fish, whole grain breads and cereals, low fat dairy products. The many meal replacement products on the market can be a good tool to help you get started on a better eating plan. Use them in the first week or two if you like to replace one meal a day. Make sure you get one that has a good protein content. Special K makes a protein shake and the Glucerna shakes have higher protein content. Go for a brisk 45 minute walk twice a day if you can, everyday. Climb lots of stairs. Drink plenty of water. If at all possible start a weight lifting/strength training program at a gym and get some instruction from the gym trainer. It will work. Here are a few sites that may help.

Is it worth answering weight loss related questions on Quora?

I'll choose Door Number Two, Bob.I think people who get so fed up with their inability to have the body they wish they had that they ask a question about how to do it on Quora simply do not want to hear it's going to be hard work, which may or may not succeed, and which will take a long time.Who wants to hear you have to give up foods you love in the quantities you love?  Who wants to hear you have to exercise to the point of sore muscles daily?  Who wants to hear there's no quick and easy fix??  No one, that's who.Door Number Three is always a viable option, but I truly hope if Door Number One turns out to be the right answer it isn't because the questioners got waylaid by yet another siren song of a high-calorie food.
