Sooo Anime Fans Have a Bad Reputation?
Recently gotten into anime (past 6 months or so) and have found some amazing stories to be told in the medium, that for the most part, couldn't be done any other way. Cool, fine. But recently it was discovered by my group of friends that one of us watched anime in their free time (I had not known about that either). Immediately he got teased for about 3 weeks or so now being called an "antisocial ******" and whatever a "dirty weaboo" is... They pulled up a Reddit video of a guy who makes out with his katana and showed his anIme porn collection to his twitch stream. I'm starting to get really into anime, but know nothing about the culture... So is the general consensus that anime fans are some sort of jackass perverted introverts? I'd rather not have that reputation and am thinking about not watching it anymore if that's what the reputation of anime fans is. Idk just seemed strange that this kid who was cool a week ago is getting publicly **** on over their choice of entertainment... I'd rather not et called out for it.
