Well I Am 50 Will I Be Able To Find Any Work If Or Am I To Old To Get A Job As An Xray Tech

Salary of radiology technician (x-ray tech)?

I have searched several places online and there seems to be a different average salary everywhere i look. One website said the average salary for a radiology tech. was around $35,000, while other websites said 50 and $60,000 for the average annual salary....

So which is it? I am planning on getting my AS degree for radiology at my community college, but i dont want to be stuck with a career which makes an average of only $35,000.

any help and advice on how to make more money as an x-ray tech would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Is 37 or 38 too old to consider trying to get a job in the tech industry?

I was recruiting a guy for a software engineering position at a defense company and because his resume looked good, with 3 years experience and a BS in Computer Science, I called him in for an interview. When he came in, he shocked me because he had to be in his late-forties and had gone all gray.So I asked him why the career shift, since nothing was even listed prior to 3 years ago. He just said he was tired of doing whatever he was doing before, or got sick of it, etc, and decided to shift into software. He was a great employee with a fantastic attitude and is still at that job over 10 years later. It's never too late, and no, it's not a waste of time. It depends what you require for income and where you live, but developers can easily make $50k-$100k using the techs you mentioned. You could be a contractor, buy insurance through the ACA, and make even more than that, if you want. The trick is that unless you have a BS CS degree of the like, you'll have to do something to make employers think you're legit, even as an entry-level developer, which is what you'll be with zero professional experience. Obviously a BS degree would be ideal, but that takes a long time. There's a ton of posts on Quora and other places about the best ways to do build your professional portfolio, like working on open source projects, or creating websites or apps you can show. Sometimes getting enough certificates will convince an employer to overlook your non-tech degree. Somewhere between coursera, udacity and coding boot camps, you should be able make some bucks easier than archaeology anyway!

What are some good paying jobs of at least 25,000 that I can get with a two year degree of less?

Becomming an LPN would be good. It only takes a year, and there is ALWAYS a job open for you. Most have good benefits, and you will have a sense of accomplishment with your work. My mother,, an LPN, is a single mom with two teenage kids and a grandbaby to take care of, and we live fairly comfortably. She makes enough to pay bills and have a little spending money. Last year she made $32,633, but she takes off all the time (lol). Also, you should be able to find a lot of government grants and stuff to become one because there is a shortage of LPNs.

Is 50K a good salary for a recent college grad.?

I would definitely accept the job. 50k is a very generous salary for a recent college grad. Many of your ex-classmates are probably unemployed and hurting for money at this time, so thank your lucky stars!
Even if you end up not liking the job or if it was not what you studied for, take what you can from it and learn as many new skills as possible!
