Were My Meals Healthy Today

Are my meals healthy enough?

You're not eating enough whole grains, which can cause a B-vitamin deficiency. Make sure your morning meal contains whole-wheat or 12-grain bread, use the same bread on your sandwich at lunch, and try adding brown rice or quinoa to your dinner. Instead of eating sugary fruit yogurt, add your own fresh fruit to natural yogurt. I also don't see any vegetables! Increase your intake of leafy greens like spinach and kale, add in some other-colored veggies like squash, carrots, beets and tomatoes to make sure you're getting enough nutrients. Cut out that Diet Coke- the human body wasn't designed to process all those chemicals! Instead, switch to some different flavours of green tea.

Were Americans healthier in the 1950s than today?

While there were parts of the lifestyle of my youth in the 50s that were definitely far healthier — no fast food or pizza, very little obesity, no television viewing for seven hours a day — people were subject to health threats that no longer exist. For kids of the 50s, polio was a threat that we lived with. It was normal to get measles and mumps. While we generally survived those, things like leukemia or a congenital heart defect were generally a death sentence. So was a collision in a car without seat belts. When men retired at 65 (and retirees were mostly men) in 1955, very few envisioned another 20 years of life in retirement. The modern medications to treat blood pressure or diabetes or applications like pacemakers have changed the lives of older citizens.Health these days is more closely correlated to locale and social class than it has ever been. While upper middle class Americans are healthier than they have ever been, there are places where Americans are worse off than the might have been generations ago due to drugs, obesity, smoking, neglect, inequality, and general depression.

What are some easy to make healthy meals?

Oh theres so much! Don't go out of your way looking for meal plans and all of that!

Just buy healthy & you eat healthy. I'm not the best cook when it comes to looking good on the plate and that but they do come out delicious.

Now usually on these types of pages I find people adding all these ingrediants people have probably never heard of and a million different spices, fair play if you want that! But just incase, here's a few simple ones.

o Supernoodles (Cold)
o Prawns or Chicken Peices (Even have both)
o Spring Onions
o Cucumber cut long
o A Bottle of Sweet Chilli Sauce.

Pretty much explains itself! You just chuck it all together, mix it up. Perfect, tasty and cold for a summers day.

o Tuna
o Low fat Salad Cream
o Sweetcorn
o Pitabread
o Lettuce

Warm your pita breads in toaster for 30 seconds, mix up the tuna salad cream sweetcorn lettuce and anything else you may like added in, DON'T slice it but chop the top of the pita bread of and stuff it inside. They are suprisingly filling.

o Rice OR Pasta
o Phillidelpha Cheese
o Garlic (?) Lemon Juice (?)
o Ham / Some form of meat
o Spring onions / leek
o Mushrooms and/or Peppers
o Milk

Boil your rice, use a seperate pan for your phillidelphia cheese and put a generous spoonful in on a high heat with a little splash of milk, let it simmer keep it stirring regularly so it doesn't stick, thats your simple cheese sauce. Add everything else in after a minute or so, mushrooms/leeks/ham & peppers are my favourite in this. Add Garlic or a Splash of lemon juice if you have it to hand just for a extra taste. Leave to cook for around 20minutes, add your rice or pasta and ta da.. Ham and Mushroom Pasta in Cheese Sauce!

Basically just stock your fridge with a bunch of healthy stuff, don't stand around when your shopping wondering if you'll ever use it, just get it get it home and use trial and error, don't like it? You won't buy it next time! So long as you got a frying pan, and a bunch of stuff you can make a stir fry for any day of the week for any type of taste buds. Veggie, Spicy anything!

Enjoy and good luck!

Did i eat healthy today?

Kinda. You ate healthy things, but not enough of them. You need to calculate your BMR Which means Burning metabolic rate. What it is the calories your body naturally burns, even if you just lay in bed all day.( which you don't) I calculated yours and you burn 1459 naturally and you dont want to go below that because it will slow your metabolism down and you will gain weight, and I'm sure you don't want that.

Ok, realistically, you should only lose 1-2 lbs a week...that is the healthy way. It will take about 8 weeks. But remember this little tip * If it comes off fast, it will come back faster *...I am not trying to discourage you. I'm rootin' for ya girl! Your eating great...you just need to eat about 400 more calories. You workout..it will happen for you. Believe in yourself!

Oh..another tip...if you split your workout up 30 min in the morning and 30 in the evening, you will lose faster. The reason why is when you exercise and get your heartrate up your metabolism speeds up and if you break it up it will speed up twice! yay!

As far as your diet...eat 5-6 small meals a day...I would just add one more meal to your diet. Eat the cereal for breakfast and the smoothie for dinner. Its better to have carbs in the morning. Dont eat any like after 2 pm...and make lunch your biggest meal!

Hope this works for ya...mail me and lemme know!

I m not sure my eating habits are healthy. I have one meal a day- maybe.?

I stopped eating 3 meals a day about 7 years ago to save money, and then never picked up eating again. I don t get hungry anymore and just have one meal a day whenever it s convenient. If there s no convenient time (because I don t have the funds, I don t have the time, or I just don t have the food,) then I ll go a day or more without eating at all. I still drink, but it s also not very much at all- maybe one bottle of water a day?

(For reference - I m 5 4 and 120 lbs., which I think is healthy..?)

What are the best healthy alternatives to your favorite meals?

My favorite meals are pretty healthy. I do not need substitutes. For instance, today I have had a delicious homemade (by me) risotto with zucchini and taleggio cheese, followed by some fennel braised in milk. For dinner I made veal escalopes with peas and with spinaches sautéed in extravirgin olive oil with some garlic and pancetta. And now, before bed, I think I will have an apple.

Rate my meal plan (How Healthy)?

I usually eat similar things each day, I have been noticing myself toning up a bit. I have been watching what I eat and excersizing for the last few weeks. Im 25, female, 67kgs, 168cm tall.

Breakfast : 1 weetbix with lite milk, low fat yoghurt 2 tablespoons, a few frozen berries, instant coffee with lite milk and 1/2 tspoon sugar. I eat this everyday.

Morning tea : A piece of fruit - usually an apple, grapes or a peach + 1 cup lipton green tea with mint flavour.

Lunch : Leftovers or salad or sandwhich, for example - today Im having a pumpkin, sweet potato, pine nut and bok choy warm salad. Yesterday I had a ham, avocado, tomato, cucumber, mustard sandwhich on wholemeal bread (no butter). I also have an orange with lunch everyday. 1 cup lipton green tea with mint flavour

I now try and go low carb for the rest of the day.

Afternoon Tea : Either a boiled egg or cottage cheese mixed with tomato and cucumber. 1 cup lipton green tea with mint flavour

Dinner : Meat with salad or veggies (low/no carb - ie. no poatatos / pasta / rice)

I try keep my calories around 1290 per day. I don't really on weekends as alcohol kinda blows it out.

I drink about 3 litres of water a day. I excersize about 4 times a week. 1 x spin (cycle class) - 45mins, 1 x 30 min walk / jog, 1 x body pump (weights) class - 45mins, and I play tennis socially once a week - 60 mins doubles.

I think Im pretty healthy but what do you guys think? Any advice? Am I eating too much?

What kind of healthy and soft foods should I eat after getting my braces tighteneD?

OMG I hate braces, i just gotten mine tighten today and it will hurt like heck tommorrow mornoing and for a week afterwards, everytime i get them tighten i always don't eat much....(they were supposed to take my top off, but it was a mix up)
but its unhealthy....
Any ideas?

Were frozen meals better in the 50s and 60s compared to today?

In the 50s and 60s, in France, there were no frozen meals. The only frozen food you could buy was ice-cream.
