What do you guys think of advertising?

It depends on the advertisement. If the ad promotes a product or service in an innovative and creative way, then it's great. So many different mediums exist for advertising today that marketers have more opportunities than ever before to produce something amazing. However, if the advertisement is unethical or exploitative in any way, then that's not so great. For example, in our social media text we discuss this ad by Hyundai: That's pretty disturbing, right? Also, it fails at what it's designed to do: sell cars. No one is persuaded by that ad to buy a Hyundai. Instead, it stirs up negative feelings which the consumer may forever associate with the company in years to come. What do you guys think of Mexican women?

They are misrepresented - It’s absurd how people think Mexican women are one race. They aren’t. Most are mixed-race.This is a white Mexican woman.This is a black Mexican woman.Asian Mexican.Indigenous Mexican woman. This is what most people think of when they hear the stereotypical “dirty Mexican.”They’re racist - Unfortunately, racism is a thing among poor Mexican women. It’s because alot of the communities are separated. Dark-skinned Mexican women are isolated in poor areas with no jobs, no education, no housing, etc. Light-skinned women are treated better and live in rich neighborhoods. They don’t like anyone who isn’t one of them. Mexican-American women however are more open.They need help - Mexican women are often the most neglected and abused. Look at the crime rates and the types of crimes committed against them. Homicides and femicides are very high. Sexual assaults are also high partially due to machismo and sexism. The Government looks the other way. My mom talked about how an old guy ejaculated on her skirt in a public bus. The men would grope the women in crowded buses and possibly rape them as soon as they got off their stops. They didn’t care if they were children, young women, old, etc. Some women are raped by all the men in their own families. If a woman leaves her fiance before the wedding, she’s shamed for it. She’s also at risk for murder. You could get killed simply for being a woman. Women are also pressured to look to the men for survival and please them. The man is supposed to do everything and the woman is expected to be a housewife. That’s why alot of beautiful women are with Mexican guys who have little to nothing to offer. Even in entertainment, you often see scantily clad women posing for the cameras on Mexican TV. They don’t care if the kids are watching either.

What do you guys think of quiet people?

Guys love quiet people. Especially quiet women. From what I’ve observed women tend to spend a lot of time talking. Usually they are asking guys what they are thinking but let me tell you a little secret… We ain’t thinking much. Nope. Your brains got that extra dna-code so your processor is running at a high rate, ours not so much. When you are all talking we are just trying to keeep up. It might take us 5 minutes to come up with a good answer to your question but by that time you’ve asked us 3 more questions so we just sit there and stay quiet. So, yea when we encounter a quiet girl it’s a blessing. It gives our brains time to think and relax.btw, no offense intended to any dudes out there, this is just how my brain works, so I assume it’s how most dudes brains work…

What do you guys think about coursera?

As a person who's taken courses on Coursera, initially out of curiosity but later on out of interest even, I can attest to the quality of their courses. Of course, in formal professional courses, a Coursera course would be no substitute for a degree but it's especially helpful if you're trying to learn a course which is a hobby, or in a profession which doesn't exactly call for a full time degree. Having said that, Coursera courses are often high quality courses, which have assignments and tests the completion of which earns the participant a certificate of credit of sorts - especially if you score above distinction. However in many a case Coursera courses are "watered down" versions of the actual course. For instance, I've taken several courses in Coursera, which have been given by Berklee College of Music - including their Introduction to Production Course, their Musicianship Course, and more recently their Introduction to Guitar Course. I took most of these out of sheer curiosity considering that Music Production is something I'm insanely passionate about, among other things in music. I felt it was a very beginners oriented course and while it did teach a few basics really well, it didn't deal with the actual production and post production process - the creative element in detail. I've also taken a course on Practical Ethics by Princeton University from there, and it was a very refreshing course.In conclusion I think Coursera is a great way to spend spare time broadening one's horizons but it's not something which is going to help secure you a job like a traditional degree.

What do you guys think about the end of humankind?

I find it exciting.“Exciting? You think the end of human kind is exciting? What is wrong with you?”Uh…have you ever wished that there would be a zombie apocalypse so that life ceases as we know it and we're thrown in a situation where all the superficial things and distractions that we preoccupy ourselves with will cease to matter, the system we've built chained ourselves into breaks down and we'll be really living?No? Just me then? Okay.Well. All the crazy schemes to save humanity, the way everything unfolds etc would be quite interesting to watch.
