Sack of potatoes (aka sack-a-potatoes) is a phrase used to describe the hand motion a Baseball umpire makes when a batter strikes out.
When a batter receives a third strike, the umpire will signal he is "out" by conducting a hand motion similar to that of a person reaching into a burlap sack and pulling out a potato, hence... "SACK OF POTATOES".

The origin of the phrase can be traced back to the early part of the 21st century in Long Branch, New Jersey.

How long for two baked potatoes?

Cook on full power in the microwave for 5 minutes. Turn over, and continue to cook for 5 more minutes. When the potato is soft, remove from the microwave, and cut in half lengthwise. Season with salt and pepper, and mash up the inside a little using a fork. Top the open sides with butter and 2 tablespoons of cheese. Return to the microwave, and cook for about 1 minute to melt the cheese.

First, you won't carry three days' worth (three gallons) of water into the outback with you. At 25 pounds, prohibitively heavy. Not only that, but you wouldn't be taking into account that you may get lost or injured, so you may need access to more than three gallons. No, you'll bring a gallon with you to start. But because you did the homework and looked for sources of water along your hike, you'll be able to make more potable. I use one of these: Sawyer Squeeze™ Filter System | Sawyer. It will filter 1 million gallons, and has a lifetime warranty. The threads on the filter fit standard soda bottles, but they come with a collapsible bladder. You can find one for about $30, if you shop around. They make a smaller one that will filter 100,000 gallons, called the mini. Further, you can get it down to the size of a cigar with the Life Straw. It will filter about 250 gallons, or, 250 days of hiking and backpacking.

A cowboy rides into town on friday, stays 3 days and leaves on friday, how does he do it?

Been watching "Little Big League" have you? That Bowers is a charactor isn't he. The horses name is Friday.

Oh No! That is such a short time!JKSRTC - J&K State Road Transport Co. has awesome bus services - you buy a round ticket, get into a bus in the morning and it brings you back in the evening (timings are approximately 8am-8pm, fares around 250-300 Rs, takes around 2-3 hours each way). Preferably book seats a day before in person. These busses are ideal since they go to all the tourist spots like the ones you have mentioned, they let you spend adequate time at the location, and there is one fixed bus that takes you back and forth so you don't have to spend time waiting for a bus to arrive or worry about reserving a seat. However you will be able to do only two locations since you will have the 8 to 8 time slot only on 20th and 21st. The Tourist Reception Center (close to the bus stand) is very helpful, giving maps and tips for travel. TRC Srinagar: 0194-2452690, 2452691JKSRTC Srinagar: 0194-2455107, 2475360I would definitely suggest taking your first day to walk around the Dal lake, taking a shikara ride and walking to the TRC and Bus Stand to book your tickets. Last day, I would say go to Chashme Shahi with its delicious spring, Shalimar bagh and for a lovely vantage point of Srinagar, trek up to the Shankaracharya Mandir. Make a visit to the Jama Masjid (open to non-muslims as well) to see its magnificent arches and almost 40 ft high wooden pillars. If nothing, just walk around the city of Srinagar - it is safe, beautiful and has amazing people. And Eat Local! Right from the hard baked roti with salt tea for breakfast to the lotus root kebabs for lunch to the yummy fried mutton ribs and meatballs (Rizta and Goshtaba) for dinner. One of the best things about Kashmir I have noticed is despite being such a big name in tourism, no one is out to fleece you. Of course you can haggle with the pony owners for a ride to the meadows of Gulmarg, but remember their tourist season is for a short while and things have been bad for a long time. Have a good time!

First of all, YES.imageBut only in strict moderation as its nutritional value are enacted only after eating. Dark sweet potato contains Carotene that your body converts them into Vitamin A and some additional precious Vitamins and Minerals. The best way to eat them in its full nutritional status is to boil them while keeping its peel upon it. It will prevent the loss of nutrition in the cooking process. When you will eat the raw sweet potato, you will face the following side effects. It contains compounds the slows down the digestion of protein and by cooking such compounds are neutralized. You will face flatulence as raw sweet potatoes are hard to digest.Related:This drink while going to bed will Burn your Body Fat Like Crazy. This is what happens when you apply Yogurt on Skin?

In the days of the old wooden sailing ships, food and fresh water was always a problem, therefore feeding a hardworking crew would have been very difficult. Meat and fish was dried and salted to be stored in barrels. There would have been few vegetables once the ship had been at sea for any length of time. Fruits were unheard of except perhaps apples stored in barrels. Hence the expression "one bad apple" would contaminate all within the barrel. It must have been soul destroying to open up a fresh barrel of apples only to find that they were all bad and had to be thrown over the side. With no fresh vegetables and little fruit, the sailors diet was seriously deficient in vitamin C. The result was a common disease known as scurvy. To overcome this Royal Naval ships crews were given a daily ration of Lime juice and even in my days in the Navy this ration is still made available when certain arduous conditions prevailed. This was noticed by the American before the war of independence and hence the English are still referred to as "Limeys" to this day.Larger ships would take to sea with live animals to be butchered and eaten at a later date and as the journey length was dependant on the wind and weather, it would have been extremely difficult to plan domestic arrangements with any certainty. In bad weather with the ship being tossed like a cork on the waves, the wood burning stove was a dangerous device which if it got out of hand would consume the wooden ship. In extreme conditions hot food was difficult to provide and yet most foods would require cooking to kill the bacteria and make them edible. The ships carpenter would make plates for the crew and the easiest way to make a plate was to cut a square section piece of wood. Square shaped plates could be stowed away easily and wooden ones would not break irrespective of how violent the ships movement might become. There was no sort of turning machine to make round plates and that would have been seen as an unnecessary expense. So when the sea state allowed and there was sufficient food available, every effort would have been made to provide the crew with a hot edible meal. This would have been collected from the galley and eaten with relish on the mess deck table utilising the square section plate. Therefore if you achieved "Three Square meals a day" you were doing very well. An expression still used today in everyday English.

Why are there fifty-two cards in a normal pack?

There are 13 cards for each suit. The Ace, being one, then 2 through 9. Afterwards are the face cards, the Jack, Queen, and King. There are 4 suits, which totals 52 cards, without Jokers.

What supplies do American Soldiers carry during war? Please be detailed. Include weapons and personal items.?

It all depends on the mission. If you are a rifleman (what most people think of when they think soldier in the army), than you will most likely be carrying an M4 carbine, sometimes with accessories such as a PEQ-2 laser, or an ACOG scope. Unless you buy your own magazine, you will have a standard 30 round magazine.

You will usually be wearing standard desert-camo BDU's, boots, socks, an undershirt, gloves, a plate carrier, a helmet, rigger's belt, knee and/or elbow pads, and goggles. Other things you may wear/have on your person are dog tags, your ID, watch, notebook and pen, and a multi-tool or a knife.

Your vest will mainly hold at least 6 M4 magazines. Other weapons carried on your vest may include a bayonet (works o your gun and in your hand) and frag grenades. You will also carry many miscellaneous items, including: 1-quart water containers, a water bladder, zip ties, night vision equipment, a compass, water purification tablets, a first aid kit (at least a few wound dressings), glow sticks, a flashlight, a canteen, earplugs, and usually a small radio.

The next step is your bag. You may not always carry your bag everywhere, but it still holds anything you may need. It almost always carries: extra water, MRE's, IV's, a poncho, a blanket, batteries, shirts, socks, a gun cleaning kit, rope, spare gloves, your toiletries, underwear, a sleeping bag, some type of hat, and a sleeping pad. Any other spare space is usually filled with more ammo.

While that may seem like a lot of things, there are still a lot of things that soldiers may carry with them. These may include: maps/aerial pictures of the area, whistle, GPS, lock pick, riot baton, strobe light, bolt cutters, metal detector, mortar rounds, laser pointers (the good ones, not the dollar store ones), a star cluster (aircraft/troop signaling device), survival tarp, incendiary grenades (explode on impact), concussion grenades (huge explosion), or smoke grenades (kind that SWAT uses).

Personal items are basically anything that you may want as a remembrance of home. Serving a tour in the middle east may last 1-3 years, so you will want things from home.

Hope this helped!
