Things you learn in English 9 and English 10?

I just finished English 10 and we did book analysis. We also covered Participial Phrases, Gerund Phrases, Prepositional Phrases, and Infinitive Phrases. The majority of the year we did literary analysis to help prepare for AP Language and Composition which is for grade 11. I was in English 10 Honors are my school.

As for English 9, I was in Honors for that too, and we learned basic essay stuff and writing like how many sentences a paragraph is (which is not 3-5, its as many as it needs to be.) We also did some analysis, but it wasn't really called that. I also learned a lot of new vocabulary words that we had to memorize definitions for. Same with Literary and Figurative Devices like simile, metaphor, personification, (I already knew those three though), allusion, irony, verbal irony, situational irony, dramatic irony, motivation, direct and indirect characterization, foreshadowing, flashback, etc. We also did grammar and learned about Introductory Dependent Clauses, Direct Quotes, Direct Addresses, and the eighteen subordinate conjunctions. We might have done more but I don't remember. This is all.

How should I prepare for the GATE for English?

Hi, I'm mixed with Puerto Rican and African American and when I was younger I tend to mostly stay on the side of the family that speak English and now that's my native language, but now that I'm older (teenager) people call me a "fake Puerto Rican" for not speaking it and I want to understand my other side of the family too.

Here's my attempt at it.

1. Tell your mom I said hello

The literal translation would be:

tamaari (your) ma (mom) ne (to) kehsho (please tell) me (I) namaste (hello) kidha (said) chhe (have).

Alternatively, you can say:

tamaari (your) ma (mom) ne (to) maari (my) yaadi (remembrances) aapsho (please give).

In general, referring to someone else's mother like that is not considered very polite. May be you'd want to call her aunty or something like that instead of saying "your mother". Just my opinion.

2. I am cleaning

hu (I) saaf-sufi (cleaning) karu (doing) chhu (am).

3. You look handsome (to a guy)

tame (you) sundar (good looking/pretty) dekhaav (look) chho (are).

4. Lets go eat

chalo (let's) jamva (eat) jaiye (go).

In your opinion, what is the most useful language to learn during high school?

I don’t think it’s important to focus on the most useful language; usefulness just depends on the context and time period than objectivity. I really have started to believe that you should languages you feel passionate about instead of ones that are useful. This is not just true with languages though; it’s true with anything. It’s pointless to force yourself to learn something just in hopes of making money. Money comes and goes, and so this advice that our parents and grandparents gave us about sticking to the most economic options is useless intbis age, but maybe it was useful in theirs. In the 21st century, we have way more options than they do, and so we are free to pursue our passions regardless of what they are because of you’re good at what you do, someone will notice it and you will make (lots of) money.

Advancing in riding lessons?

it all depends on you. if you keep a good leg than you may start to canter if you havent.
i would say that an advanced rider would be able to jump 3 ft w/o a saddle, do all barn choes(muching,water,hay,sweepin etc) teach lessons, walk, trot, canter, gallop, to point for at least 20 mins, ride green horses, stay on bucks/rears 9/10 of the time, ride without reins or a saddle and a whole lot more. the list would be very long if i wrote it out.
intermediate - most/all barn chores, riding some green horses, staying on bucks/rears 1/3 of the time, riding bareback, to point for 10 min, walk trot and cater, some 2 1/2 ft jumps and some more things
begginer- walk and trot ground poles, 3 min, keep a good leg and hand. some more stuff 2
