What Are Belly Buttons For

What is belly button rape?

belly button rape means sticking or inserting your finger in someone's navel or belly button for more than 8 seconds.

Can a belly button open up?

It would not be healthy if the belly button opened up. Also, it is not likely to happen, as the navel is very strong tissue. The navel is a twisted knot of tissue that closes off the link to the umbilical cord in the womb. Functionally, we can think of a baby in the womb being nourished through the umbilical cord like a balloon being blown up. One the balloon is blown up, we tie off the opening. That is how a belly-button is made.If you untie, poke a hole in, or cut the knot of a balloon, the balloon bursts. If the belly button opens up, the abominal cavity will be exposed, which is a serious medical issue involving high risks of dangerous infection. The body is made of a series of protective layers. The skin is the outer one. At the belly button, the abodminal wall is next. Inside the abdomen, the appendix is the inner remnant from the umbilical cord into the body. The closing of the umbilical cord to create the belly button at birth seals all three of these layers. Breaking open any one of those layers can create dangerous infection and illness. Breaking open all three at once would be very unhealthy.

What do belly buttons taste like?

I heard that they're kind of gamey.

Why are they called "belly buttons"?

Perhaps it is due to the shape, rather puckers appearance, looking like a button. I found the following a while ago. Perhaps you too will find it interesting.

Bellybutton names

The belly button has many names, including the fairly technical term "navel". "Navel" comes from the Anglo-Saxon word "nafela".

The Romans called the belly button the "umbilicus".

The Greeks called it the "omphalos". So if you add the Greek word "tomĂȘ" (meaning "cutting"), you get "omphalotomy". This word means "cutting of the umbilical cord".

Omphalos also means "knob" or "hub". The Greeks erected a holy stone, or fetish stone, in the Temple of Apollo at Delphi (on the slopes of Mount Parnassus near the Gulf of Corinth). They called this rounded conical stone the Omphalos (or Navel), as they thought that it marked the exact center of their universe.

The tallest mountain in Bali is Gunung Agung. One Balinese myth says that their deities had mountains as their thrones, and that the highest mountain of all was Gunung Agung. The Balinese call this mountain the "Navel of the World".

The original inhabitants of Easter Island called it "Rapa Nui" ("Great Rapa") or "Te Pito te Henua" ("Navel of the World").
