Which electives should I take in high school?

So yesterday we got a list if ninth grade electives in the mail. And to be honest, I hate most of them. I know that they aren't going to be like fun journalism or wood shop. They are meant to help with your future. Which scares me. Here is the list:

Foundation of Art (1)
Concert Band
Wind Ensemble
Orchestra
Mixed Chorus

Stage Craft

HALF YEAR (2.5 CREDITS)
Ceramics
World Crafts Sampler
Drama 1
Marching Band

Modern Foods
Business & Personal Law
TV 1
TV 2
Computer Applications & Design
Computer Science 1 - Visual Basic
Anthropology

..... I'm not sure how many you are supposed to take yet, we will find that out in a little while.

So, which ones sound the best to take? Keep in mind that I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up! And please nothing with music or art, those do not interest me!

Thank you sooo much!! (And sorry this was so long!!)

High School electives?

umm. at my school i think you can only take an elective once, but they have different levels (journalism 1 and 2, Speed writing and Advanced Speed Writing...) so, if you take a course you like, they might have a second part to it. But yes, they will teach the same things as before.

What electives are there in high school?

Common types of electives hihg school include:

1) Visual arts (drawing, sculpture, painting, photography, film studies, and art history)
2) Performing arts (choir, drama, band, orchestra, dance, guitar)
3) Vocational education (woodworking, metalworking, computer-aided drafting, automobile repair, agriculture, cosmetology, FFA)
4) Computer science/information technology/media technologies (word processing, programming, graphic design, computer club, Web design and web programming, video game design, music production, film production)
5) Journalism/publishing (school newspaper, yearbook, television production)
6) Foreign languages: (French, German, Italian, and Spanish are common; Chinese, Japanese, Russian, 7)Greek, Latin, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, and American Sign Language are less common, though the former two are gaining increased popularity. Not all states consider sign language a foreign language and can, therefore, hamper students' ability to go to an out-of-state college where they require a foreign language in high school but do not count American Sign Language.)
8) Business Education: Accounting, Data Processing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Information and Communication Technology, Management, Marketing, and Secretarial
9) Family and consumer science/health (nutrition, nursing, culinary, child development, and additional physical education and weight training classes)
10) Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (In some schools, JROTC may replace a credit of health or P.E.)
Some American high schools offer drivers' education. At some schools, a student can take it during school as a regular course for a credit. At some schools, drivers education courses are only available after school. California school require to take it but not to pass it Good luck.

Can I switch electives in high school?

I'm a freshman going into 9th grade this year and during course selection week at my school, I chose a course call Mythology. I really wanted to take a course called Creative Writing but since i had to choose i just picked my first instinct, Mythology. But now I'm having second thoughts and I'd really rather take Creative Writing instead of Mythology. Would they let me switch? Should I call the school now, a month before school starts, or just ask the counselor the first day? please help me! thanks(:

What was your favorite elective in High school?

psychology b/c it's fun, interesting, and probably won't have much homework
journalism b/c you get to go around the school taking photos and interviewing ppl, and you'll have a permanent hall pass

What are the best high school electives for going to law school?

Law Schools will ask you to submit your college transcripts but they will not ask you to submit your high school transcripts. They only ask you for an overview of things when it comes to high school (Name of the school, GPA, etc..).If you want to just prepare yourself now I would shift my focus from high school classes to the LSAT. The LSAT has the most weight when it comes to getting into law school. Start taking LSAT prep now because it is the most important tool when it comes to admissions. It is also a very unique and hard exam.

What electives should I take in high school to become a doctor or nurse?

If you are in the United States, then the best classes are the ones to prepare you for college.Almost everyone who gets into medical school has an undergraduate degree. The medical schools look closely at your college transcipts. However, I do not  think anyone looked at my high school record.Once you are in college, it is important to have a good grade point average and it is also important to do well in science and math classes. These will be reviewed by the medical admissions committees.
