What Are Good Movies To Do Scripts On

What is a good topic for a movie script?

Do what Hollywood does - mash things together. Take two genres of movies you like and mash them together. Like Aliens? Like Cowboys? Mash them together and you get aliens in the Old West. Like Superheroes? Like Space Opera? Mash them together and you get a superhero that gets his powers from Outer Space.

(both of these ideas are coming out this summer, BTW)

List all the genres you like, and pick a pair at random and see if an idea pops into your head.

I need a good website for movie scripts?

What movies have good scripts but are bad movies?

None come to mind. Given that I went to film school and have seen literally thousands of films that’s a testament to the fact that a good script is everything. Just as it’s nearly impossible to make a good film with a bad screenplay it’s pretty hard to make a bad film with a good one.A good screenplay does a lot of heavy lifting. it plants visual seeds in the mind of the DP, it gives the actors lines that just feel natural and roll off the tongue, it gives the director a sense of the rhythm of the story and, if it’s followed closely, lays out a perfect roadmap for the editor. With all of that you’d think screenwriters would be more we’ll paid.

Where can i get a script for a movie thats not out yet?

I don't see it on the list, but here's a good site for scripts

Where can i find scripts for movies that aren't out yet??

http://www.simplyscripts.com/

It is listed as having screenplays, transcripts, and partial scripts of old, current and soon to be release movies.

Why do people make movies with bad scripts?

There are several reasons for bad films:1. An outright bad script2. Film-makers having poor sensibilities3. Lack of deep foresight4. Losing sight of the bigger picture5. Focus or perceptions become muddled as a result of either wrong feedbacks or inputsAnd because of reasons 2-5, good scripts can also be badly transformed into a film.Interestingly, there are many cases of directors who’ve made good films but have also produced boring/nonsensical/underwhelming films. In a general sense, bad films are Potboilers which filmmakers make just for the sake of their own livelihood - since they cannot do anything else.

Which movies had a reasonably good rough draft of a script that was ultimately watered down in order to better fit the directors' personal sensibilities?

It’s not about “watering” anything down to fit anyone’s personal sensibilities. That’s now how the system works.Cinema is collaborative. The screenplay is only a piece of the puzzle that so many contribute to and thus, each draft is only a piece of the puzzle as well. The end product, the film, is the final representation no matter how many drafts are written.Look, I get it. Yes, some great scripts have devolved into lesser stories present in the final film cut. Some great films have also devolved into lesser films because of edits, be it through the director, producer, or studio executives. My point is that whatever previous draft there is doesn’t matter. The final product is the final product. It doesn’t exist without a director, producer, editor, crew, cast, etc.To somewhat answer the question directly, there are likely hundreds of scripts that could be considered better than the final product. But that’s part of the process. Without a director, there is no film. And a director MUST take on the story and make it there own because it’s a collaborative medium. The script is just the beginning. For better or worse.

Why do so many Hollywood movies have such badly written scripts?

I’m guessing a good script requires a good writer, and a good writer costs money, it’s either that or recent writers just don’t care about the plot anymore, to be honest with you, I can’t really blame them. The entire Market is trending towards mindless action with no story, it’s what sells the most tickets, people are no longer willing to wait for more than 2 hours to watch a decent movie, most of them focus on two Major Elements: Bang Bang, , Boom Boom and last but not least: nudity. So long as you got those three factors in any movie, the rest doesn’t really matter, every year, we get a new masterpiece of the “The Fast & The Furious” every time there are at least a couple of cut-scenes that make absolutely no sense; Van Diesel was in a car that just flipped for 2 minutes across a mountain ridge? no problem, he just comes out of the car without a scratch, Dwayne Johnson fell of 3 stories to the street? it’s just a minor fracture, and he still rips open his cast like “The Hulk”And yet, they remain on the top box office for weeks, so can someone explain that for me? I would only think of one thing: people don’t care about good writing anymore, and since producers can see that, they invest less in script every time.

What movies have a good script or story but bad cinematography/camera work?

I recently watched the Netflix movie called ARQ (2016). It’s a time travel sci-fi story, all set and filmed in a single rundown house with very pedestrian visuals but a story that’s enough to keep you interested if you like the time travel genre.
