What Are Good Online Shopping Sites For The Stuff I See On Pinterest

Which sites benefit from using Pinterest?

It is ideal for retailers with online shopping carts. If you include a dollar amount in the description of your pin Pinterest puts a banner across the pin with the price. This is a cue to Pinners that this item is available for sale.  They know that if they click through they will be taken to a shopping cart to purchase the item. The site also lists the items in a special menu "Gifts".  Some people use this as an online shopping too.Special note to retailers selling one of a kind items.  Pinterest suggest removing the pin when the item is sold.  I suggest removing the price.  It lets people know what they missed and that they'd better snap up that other cute Item you've got.  It also creates balance on your board of items for sale and items just there for curiosity and inspiration. It's also great for photographers.  No matter how many times that photo is passed around it will always link back to the site.  Could provide good feedback on which photos people particularly enjoy so you know which ones to turn into cards, magnets, and other things people can buy via your site. There are ways to use Pinterest for building brand as well.  Use great photos in your blog post and good teaser descriptions to get people to click through for the whole article.  When I post on Pinterest I get good traffic to my site. The key is to get creative to engage your product or brand with topics Pinterest users find interesting and like to share.

What things do you shop for on Pinterest?

Mainly memes…but I'm guessing you mean products.Well.. I don't use Pinterest to actually shop. If I see somethung I love I will go directly their site. I'm wary of giving out my debit card info so I only use sites I can trust. There are a few things I can’t seem to find that I desperately want though.. I can't even find them if I use the link on Pinterest. :/So.. If anyone knows where I can buy these two cuties…. Please tell me!They are sooo cute. My daughter would absolutely adore those things. Here is a link to a board of mine with some of the things I found on Pinterest that I just really, really want:I want that... :\It is really filled with some random stuff..you've been warned.. o_0

Is Pinterest positioning itself as an ecommerce site?

YES and since your question in 2012 they have successfully gone down the route you intelligently predicted,"The next step seems to practically go from window shopping (currently what it allows for) to acquisition."with the Buyable Pins feature. Can it become e-commerce powerhouse and take on eBay? YES.The platform stands to win big by plugging what is currently a major hole in its user experience: once you find a product you like on a social network - you have to go elsewhere when it comes time to take out our credit cards. It's a major bummer!Pinterest's new Buyable Pins have changed the game.Pinterest has been a place for finding products that inspire you and make a few discoveries along the way. Buyable Pins will make it easier to go immediately from pin to product purchase, removing any extra steps like trying to find the item online. Seamless.Filter by price, color, size and then pay for the product using Apple Pay or Credit card. So simple, so blooming awesome! Will Buyable Pins be a commercial success?Stats and data speaks for itself. For instance users are product-oriented and in a buying mindset: 93% of pinners said they use Pinterest to plan for purchases, and amazingly”87% of pinners have bought a product on Pinterest,” which is key for social selling. To top that it is blowing all other networks out of the way: Pinterest users’ average order value is $123.50, which is about 126% more than Facebook users’ of $54.64.Although Pinterest doesn't charge vendors for buyable pins, they will gain revenue by promotion of these pins - businesses competing to get to the top of it's visual search - much like competing for a google page rank. This was NEW function was built for it's USERS by giving these buying ready, shopping savvy users the option to go from pin to product purchase all on one app. If I was a betting man, I would put a LOT of money on Pinterest giving the likes of eBay a run for their money in a few years.James WaddingtonCo-Founder @ VizifiedFind out more about Pinterest Influencer Marketing and how Vizified is changing the game here.

How can we shop on Pinterest?

Pinterest has partnered with several big ecommerce platforms - such as Shopify - and offers what they call “Buyable Pins”. These items can be purchased directly from Pinterest - without leaving Pinterest. To identify a Buyable Pin versus a regular pin, look for the TAG icon and the website name beneath the thumbnail of the pin - like this:When you see a Buyable Pin, you can click on it to get more information about the product right on Pinterest. You’ll see the item description, additional photos, the price, and the stores Return Policy. The screen will look similar to this:If you decide to complete a purchase, you can simply click on the ADD TO BAG button. You can then either continue shopping, adding even more items to your shopping bag, or you can complete your purchase. To complete a purchase, click on the Bag link in the upper-right corner of your Pinterest screen. This will display the contents of your shopping cart:When you click the red CHECK OUT button, you will see the shipping charge and an order review screen. From there you can click on the red PLACE ORDER button. Your order is sent to the vendor and you can continue browsing Pinterest. AND…. you never had to leave Pinterest to complete your purchase!NOTE: In order to complete a purchase on Pinterest, you will have to have your shipping address entered into your Pinterest profile, and you will also have to have a credit card on file in your Pinterest profile. You’ll be promoted to add this information the very first time you make a purchase. Once that information is part of your profile, checking out at a future date is even easier.NON-BUYABLE PINSIf you see something on Pinterest that is NOT a Buyable Pin, sometimes those pins lead to a website where you can complete the purchase there. You would have to click on the pinned item, then click on the link to the website (taking you outside of Pinterest).I hope this information helped!
