Reason for Tattoos / piercings?
What reason do people have tattoos and/or piercings to permanently scar and deform their body? My brother has tattoos on each arm from top to almost wrist and has to hide them for work. He looks like a freak and I can't understand if it's for attention or because he has an identity problem. Can anyone please give me a good reason without saying it's art or expresssion. An artist will find a canvas and another, and another.
Why do people do tattoos and body piercings?
It surprises me a bit that none of the answers so far has mentioned the obvious: because they appreciate art and enjoy having something they consider beautiful on their body. It's a myth that most tattoed people do it for the effect their tattoos have on others. Most (at least those with high quality tattoos) do it for themselves, to enjoy having great works of art on their body.Of course, there is as huge a variety of reasons as there are quality levels and styles, and some people (mostly younger ones) surely do it for "shock value", but the first and foremost reason is "they like how the tattoos look". You can't compare the twenty-something girl with one of the trendy feather/bird/infinity-tattoos nearly all of their frieds have a variety of to some guy who runs to the first tattoo shop when he hits 18 to show off what a badass he is (and wishes to have at least chosen a better artist some years down the road), to a middle-aged woman who gets a photorealistic tattoo of an iguana, to the elderly guy who is finishing his traditional bodysuit at 70. Four people, four completely different styles, reasons, ways of life.But the group I know most people of are those who made informed decisions about their tattoos, waited months or even years for the artist of their chosing and spend hundreds or (more likely) thousands of Euros to get the quality from the artist they aimed for. Many of those are middle aged, have professions that allow them to spend this amount of money on body art and a few even travel abroad to get tattooed by those whose art they love. They are tattoo enthusiasts and art lovers. Simple as that. :)
Reasons to get snake bite piercings?
Okay. I'm trying to convince my mom to let me get snake bites and it's not going well right now. My dad said yes but he's whipped. Haha. So I need some good reasons why he should let me get them. Help please. Oh I'm 14 if that helps. Haha. **don't tell me that stupid crap like there ugly/your to young/ blah blah blah!

I really wanna get my belly button pierced with my friend! Both of our parents said no because they think we're "too young". Little do out parents know, we've been secretly going online a night watching videos about belly rings because we want one so bad. We've been hiding this secret for maybe a week. 5 good reasons why i should get my cartilage pierced?
You have a smart and caring dad. There are no good reasons to get your cartilige pierced. And by the time you get to college, and you do have a piercing, you just wont be taken seriuosly. How many teachers, dentists, pharmacists, engineers, doctors, accountants, or any high career people have you seen with their cartilige pierced. NONE. Im not saying its right, but we live in a world where we ARE judged by our appearance. And a cartilige piercing isnt something that is respectable. Its ugly anyways Dont do it I dont know you but im only writing this for your sake O and its doesnt show individuality, it just shows that you are trying to hard
