What Are Minimum Requirements To Study At The University Of Aberdeen

Should I go to university in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen? The city itself is very important to me, as well as the arts and music scene, and of course the university itself.

Disclosure : I am a student at Edinburgh, and have not been to Glasgow/Aberdeen Universities. Hence my answer might be biased.1) Edinburgh is set up as a research university. Hence you see in many of these rankings that the graduate/research program is ranked higher than its undergraduate program. For rankings in sociology see the links below.Focus Undergraduate : Sociology - Top UK University Subject Tables and Rankings 2016Focus Research : Page on topuniversities.comIf you have any interest in research or higher studies, Edinburgh is the place to be.2) Edinburgh has a better international reputation than Aberdeen and Glasgow. Since you are an international student that might be a concern for you.3) As a city to live, Edinburgh is a good choice. The city is a bit laid back and very easy to get used to. It has a well developed bus transport system. There is also a tram connecting the city to the airport. Law and order situation is good and violent crime is rare. The climate in Edinburgh is better than Glasgow or Aberdeen due it its location close to the sea and some ocean currents. It is windy or it drizzles often, that is the only issue with climate.3) As a city to  experience, Edinburgh should be the best choice. The city is historic and looks like it has grown around the Castle. The Edinburgh Fringe and International Festival are huge and brings artists and stage shows from around the world. There are many art galleries in Edinburgh and they conduct events. nationalgalleries.org4) The Edinburgh University has an International Student Centre run by students. They organize many events including weekend trips to tourist locations nearby, weekly coffee/pub meetings, events celebration the culture/food of different countries etc. International Student Centre

Robert Gordon University or The University of Aberdeen?

So I'm planning on applying to one of these schools, but I don't know which one.. I have a friend in both of the schools and both of them says their own school is better. So someone who knows, could you plz tell me which you like more? Why? What's good/bad in those schools? ANYTHING really !

P.S. I plan on study something inside of business (Which, as I understand, is possible in both schools), and I wanna play basketball (Which I also understand is possible in both, but not so good)

So just tell me what u like/dislike, in the school, system, sports, area, studies, anything really ! THANKS ALOT !

Is studying at Oxford University in England a good idea???

If you don't know the answer to that question, are you really intelligent enough to study at Oxford University?

Studying at Oxford should open up the very highest doors but the people who go there aren't necessarily the most intelligent people in the UK or the world, and it certainly doesn't mean that they are better or nicer than other people in every respect- they have just managed to answer questions to a high enough level on a narrow range of subjects in their exams. Cambridge University has actually been classed as slightly better in league tables overall in recent years. Cambridge University has a much better reputation for science than Oxford, whereas Oxford has aa better reputation for the arts (but the difference between the two in the arts is probably very small and Cambridge has the Footlights society.) Although some people mention the ancient universities of Scotland. eg St Andrews, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, the closest equivalent to Oxford and Cambridge in England is arguably Durham University, as it also has a collegiate system. Although York (where I went) also has a collegiate system, it is pretty arbritary, with no discernible differences between each college.

School in Scotland: Napier University?

I studied at Napier University in 2000, doing an MBA, and enjoyed my time there. There are lots of different nationalities studying there on quite a large campus.
The main campus at Craiglockhart, is in a very nice area of Edinburgh, usually very safe, but like living in all cities, sensible precautions should be taken.
The public transport system (local bus) serves the main campus. Ther is a bus terminus on site and you are only 15 to 20 minutes from the city centre.
The surrounding area, Morningside, Polwarth and Craiglockhart have lots of student accomodation available and there is accomodation available on campus.
I am sure that if you can secure a place, you will be made welcome and will enjoy your time in Scotland.

What are the possible universities I can get admitted to with a 6.5 IELTS band and with a 66% on my bachelor’s degree?

The entry requirements for postgraduate degrees vary from university to university. Universities set admission requirements based on the number of applications they receive in the previous year, reputation, employer feedback, student’s feedback and quality of education. The average bachelors GPA for master’s degree admission is 6 and above in well-ranked universities. Similarly, the minimum IELTS band score is 6.0 and above. In your case, opportunities are more to get an admission at a well-reputed university or business school.
