An American moving to South Africa?
Cape Town is pretty safe, as long as you stick to the tourist areas and don't travel alone at night. It's also surrounded by stunning scenery and is one of the prettiest areas in the World. Crime is a problem everywhere, but Cape Town is much safer than Johannesburg. The food out there is very good and modestly priced. Eating in a restaurant isn't that much dearer than going to a fast food place. The most dangerous places around Cape Town are the Cape Flats (Khayelitsha and Gugulethu etc), but these are several miles from the city CBD (they are actually nearer the airport). If you come to Cape Town you will see the shacks of the informal settlements from the aircraft on the airport approach. Even these places offer township tours for the tourist and you can get B&B there, although I wouldn't recommend it!) I've been to South Africa 4 times on holiday - 3 times to Cape Town, twice doing the garden route, twice to the Eastern Cape and twice around Joburg. I spend between 2 and 4 weeks out there at a time and still haven't even seen half of South Africa. The Cape Town area is a great place to go - the locals are usually friendly and helpful. I like the Cape Town area so much that I've bought a plot of land out there (Gordon's Bay) and plan to emigrate there soon. Whilst looking for a place several agents said the most common foreign nationalities buying in Somerset West (40 minutes from CT) were either American or Irish. I don't think you would regret visiting Cape Town!

Why is most of africa so far behind the rest of the world?
Besides South Africa (which was started by the Dutch-a white group) why is the rest of Africa so far behind the world like U.S and Europe. Africa has been the starting point of man, and therefore Africans has head a major head start from newly formed 1st world countries like the U.S which has only been around for about 240 years while Africa has had man for about 6000 years, so why are African nations so far behind.

Bring back the French, British, Germans, Italians, the Belgians, and the Vatican.The only way for Africa to be better than Europe, is to have Europeans running Africa. German engineering will be at the core when it comes to mining and industry in Africa.French essence and royalty will embrace African culture and bring it to new light (imagine how we romanticize the romans/Greeks and their glory when we make movies) Large national monuments will bring pride to Africans and make feel a sense of belonging to a nation, not just a tribe or state.Italian style of cuisine. And family values. The Italians can make simple ingredients into the stuff of legend. Italian family values are nuclear and emphasize on a tight knit family as well community being tight knit.British government. Parliaments are cool. What else do I have to say about that?The Vatican? Well this is probably surprising for many, why do I want professionals from the Vatican (Aka the Capitol of Catholicism) in Africa? I'll explain it. So I'm an atheist, and while I don't see myself praying before any god. I do respect and acknowledge some religions. I think that if Africa is united under a major religion like Christianity, then it would give hope to people in all classes and backgrounds. Also, the cathedrals and basilicas are jaw dropping to look at.Anything else? Desalination plants around the coastlines, nuclear powerplants. Better irrigation. Military enforcement to protect the continent against radical Islam. Enforce the laws to strike down on poachers. Scratch that, make it so it's easier to strike down on anyone who commits a crime.Continental highways for better transit, emphasize on railroads and train transportation. Get rid of chemical fertilizers and instead use dung for the plants (it helps a lot).Is there anything else? At that point, Africa would possibly be the most economically powerful coninent in the world.

I think Afrocentrists (Not Blacks in General !!!) are individuals who lack self esteem due to the fact that Whites, Asians, Middle Easterners contributed so much to mankind. But Blacks obviously didnt contribute as much as others did (No offense, they are doing great stuff NOW ).Do you see any remnants of advanced civilization in the black Heartland Like Angola,Congo, Chad, Nigeria,…?No, Because there aren't !Instead Afrocentrists claim to be part of civilizations and cultures in non-black countries. Meghan Markle has been divorced and is 36 years old. Three years Harry’s junior. Some people think that because she is half African American she is not blueblooded enough for the royal succession, but Prince Harry has no reasonable claim to the throne.,unless they go through the finite number of heirs they currently have. Old prejudices die hard, but these two seem made for each other. I hope England will give her and them a chance.
