What Are Some Centre-right Wing British Band Members

What are some centre-right wing British band members?

There are probably few centre-right to right British bands (unlike left or far right), however I know that there are probably band members who have been known to end up voting Conservative or UKIP in most elections. I'm aware that the majority of the Spandau Ballet support the Conservative party, and Morrisey nearly voted UKIP in one election (and ended up not doing so), but are there any others who have publically stated/had revealed their political stance?

Is the Indian National Congress a left wing party or a right wing party?

At the time of Independence, Indian congress used to be moderately conservative. While it had a lot of liberals, the conservatives outnumbered them. Thus, Jinnah, Ambedkar and other leaders accused Congress of being upper-caste Hindu [just like their successors accuse BJP now].The INC brought some of the earliest laws on cow slaughter and was also key involved in the restoration of Somnath temple, the controversial putting down of Razakkars during the annexations of Hyderabad. The party that put cow in the constitution was not RSS or BJP. It was the Congress. If Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt were magically transported with an NDTV crew to 1947, they would talk of a “communal” leader carrying the Bhagvad Gita while heading the INC and another key “communal” leader committing “genocide” of Muslims in Hyderabad while taking them over. They would also be complaining of a Hindu India taking over Junagadh, Kashmir etc. Thankfully the present day media was not there then.Over the years Congress lost the right wing. It started with key ministers of Nehru — Rajaji, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, quitting a party that was increasingly turn left. Rajaji formed Swatantra party, Mukherjee founded Jan Sangh etc. These were the precursors to the present day BJP. In short it is the freedom fighting right wing that goes by most of BJP right now.In 1947 if you had to think of a legitimate Hindu party, RSS would not even come into mind. Now, RSS/BJP had successfully sold the idea that they stand for all Hinduism, nationalism, capitalism etc. That is because they had a hostile takeover of the INC’s struggling conservative division. This changed the fortunes of the two parties.Congress now is a moderate left wing party that is struggling to win votes. But, 70 years ago it was on the other side.

How left wing is Jeremy Corbyn?

He is well to the right of me, but on the left of the Labour Party. He represents the left reformist wing of what was the old Labour Party of several generations ago (Tony Benn and Bennism, etc.) that was forced into the background by previous Labour leaders (Wilson, Callaghan, Kinnock, Smith, Blair, Brown, Milliband), several Trade Union Leaders, and the right wing of the party. He is about as far left on domestic policy as Bernie Sanders, but way to the left of Bernie on foreign policy. So, while Corbyn is on the left of the Labour Party, he isn’t on the extreme left of that party.Benn and BennismIf, after the next election, Corbyn is elected UK Prime Minister, that’s when his problems will begin. He will soon find out that there is little or no room to implement the progressive reforms that will appear in the Labour Manifesto since there will be an immediate and massive flight of capital out of the country (as the rich seek to protect their wealth), and a widespread investment strike, which helped kill off earlier attempts to reform UK capitalism. In short he will soon find out he can’t run UK capitalism any better than the Tories, and probably much worse. If not Corbyn, then what?Left reformism, the state and the problem of socialist politics today

How did the partition, the division of Northen Ireland and Southern Ireland?

I appreciate the difference in phrasing, but I believe my response to your previous question serves to answer this one as well. I think that nonpartisan websites will be few, while I did attempt to be impartial.

Which UK party are the American Democrats similar to?

I can give you a clue, based on myself and the “political compass” test.On most matters I would class myself as to the right of centre, but pretty much the standard issue of being socially liberal/fiscally conservative.I can veer a bit further right on some issues and quite a bit further left on some others. I would probably best fit in somewhere around the One Nation Tory area veering Orange Book Liberal sometimes. So by the standards of the UK I am slightly to the right, but not too far away from the middle. NHS, free markets, environmental concerns, abortion, gay rights, strong workers rights, Religion keep out! etc are all good things to me.By USA standards I am Bernie Sanders! That is how far to the right the Democrat mainstream are by our standards! The GOP are somewhere o’er the hill and faraway.

Titanic information please?

Several myths have arisen from the Titanic, and some stuff that oughta be a myth that's true:
1- "Unsinkable" There is NO evidence that the White Star Line or Harland & Wolff ever used this term. For the simple reason that any mariner would never claim a ship as unsinkable. The only real reference is in the Journal "Shipbuilding (sic)" which states that her new structure makes her, "PRACTICALLY unsinkable". (my emphasis). Some passengers later claimed that some of the crew used this term, possibly, but they weren't "mariners" but the wait staff.
2- Setting a speed record. Not possible. The Cunard Line was emphasizing luxury over speed. In fact, if they had set a speed record, arriving Monday or early Tuesday then the shipping line would've had to pay berthing for 2-3 extra days before the passengers would arrive. A money-losing situation.
3- First ship to use "SOS" in a distress situation. Absolutely true. The old Morse code was "CQD", which is distinctive in Morse, but with an operator under duress, could be blurred. "SOS" is very easy to send, and has a very unique sound.
The bottom line of the catastrophe was, the ship was steaming almost full speed into an ice field, of which they were clearly warned. Albeit, Capt Smith moved his course some 70 miles south, but he was still in the ice field.
4- The "mystery ship". Latest research gives some credence to this claim by the surviving senior officers and crew, that they saw masthead lights that slowly sank below the horizon. While that MAY have been the "Californian", it's now becoming accepted that is was a Norwegian whaler operating illegally in the North Atlantic. In fairness to that ship, without wireless they would just see a liner stopped in the ice-an entirely prudent thing to do.
