What Are Some Cool New Ways To Jump Into A Pool So We Can Take Pictures

Is it safe to jump into a swimming pool if a tornado is near?

I would hope you could find a better shelter than a swimming pool. The amount of debris that ends up in a swimming pool is often considerable. While it might offer a little better protection than being in the open or in a ditch, it is more preferable to have something more protective over your head besides water. I agree that you likely would not be able to hold your breath as long as the time for the tornado to pass and the debris to settle.

I have several pictures of cars in swimming pools after a tornado. I just don't think that the water will help much with a car falling on top of you.

If you were on fire, would jumping in a pool be smart?

Assuming you can swim, it would extinguish the flames and that's that. Chlorine dissolved in water is not flammable.

Has anyone jumped in the NYC 9/11 Memorial pools? If so, how did they get out?

No, and it would mean serious injury or death if they were to do so. On the other hand, perhaps a better question would be:Why do some visitors to the 9/11 Memorial feel it is fine to toss their refuse into the pools, or rest their bags/bums on the names of the deceased? As someone who has volunteered there since it opened, I’ve seen this disrespectful behavior way too often.

Does putting your phone in a ziploc bag make it safe to take pictures underwater?

Yes — because my phone is rated for a modest amount of submerged use without any housing. :-)Actual ziploc bags are pretty fragile and single seal; there are more substantial waterproof bag-like housings with a double seal cheaply available for cell phones: I see many available from China for under $3 each, and they’re also commonly sold in water parks at a higher price. However, even those are more about keeping the phone dry than about being able to operate it while in the bag (touch screens don’t work well through a plastic bag underwater). Also beware trapping humid air in with your phone, because the cooler temperatures underwater can condense the moisture you trapped in the bag with your phone.Honestly, you can buy a decent waterproof rugged camera for between $100-$300… which is a lot less than your cell phone probably cost. I strongly recommend doing that if you’re at all serious about taking photos in wet environments. They’re more likely to produce good photos and much easier to use.

What can I use as a swimming pool for my pitbull?

I have 2 pit bulls and have had the same problem :-) After 2 summers of several kiddie pools and a chance out of stock at Walmart I got one of the kiddie sand boxes. They are green and look like a turtle - very cute yet very functional! Mine has lasted 2 1/2 summers so far! The dogs can't poke holes in the bottom and all they can chew off are the knob things that help hold the lid on. It will cost $31.33. Best wishes with your sweet puppy!

Fun places to take my two year old on rainy days?

I'm a stay at home mom with a two year old daughter. Most days her and I either go to the local park or if it's too hot we go to a little water park. Where can we go on rainy days that's fun for her age and also FREE?

How did tadpoles get into my 4 foot high above ground swimming pool? No trees above.?

its amazing how resilient and resourceful nature is. if you had just a few of them .... birds can actually carry the eggs on their legs accidentally, which is how isolated lakes/ponds sometimes get a new fish species. but a couple of hundred is alot of frogs. Offer some tadpoles to local schools so kids can see the changing of tadpole to frog
