Disclaimer:When you say boyfriend/girlfriend,I assume it to be someone you are deeply in love with..someone you have a lot of feelings for. [It was necessary to mention this because of the present situation where boyfriend/girlfriend has become just a word to describe a person with whom you share a romantic or sexual relationship]Coming back to the question…I frankly don’t know how it feels when your boyfriend/girlfriend dies … But it must be very very painful and devastating…isn’t it??It may ruin you drastically . Can totally damage you. It can cause problems at work,can push you to serious mental illnesses(including depression) . In extreme cases it can increase the chance of risky behaviors such as drug or alcohol addiction.But Hey…..Hey… Is this the only possible outcome?? Is there an another side of this coin??YES….A big YESSSSSSS…….Death of someone you love so much can change your attitude towards life. It can make you emotionally very very strong….because you have already suffered one of the worst phases of your life because of their death.. It can make you temperamentally so strong that you go on to achieve things you never thought you could.Possible changes in you:You will not yell or become easily angry.You see problems from a larger perspective. Big problems seem small now.You will be willing to adjust to bring improvement.You will refrain from expectations on others.You will find ways around any obstacle.You will not blame circumstances on extrinsic things.You will remain calm and clear of thought during a crisis.A great example of the later case is our own Mahendra Singh Dhoni.I wish this question could be answered by India's most successful skipper himself on Quora.We all know Dhoni’s story. Nevermind sex and what everyone else is saying. The best thing you could do for him to show him you love him is to do something with him he likes doing. If he likes watchin certain types of movies that u dont normally agree on then maybe invite em over for a surprise movie and popcorn night. Or whatever he enjoys doing, I dont know your man so it's hard for me to say. Monster truck rallys, hockey tickets, paintballing for the day, etc etc Naturally whatever else you normally do can follow, but surprising him with something he loves and you normally wouldn't do is the best way!!!! Take it from me!
My boyfriend left for navy boot camp i miss him like crazy. is anyone going through the same thing?
my boyfriend was gone for 3 months this past summer doing bootcamp for the marine corps. i'm only 18 so it was very very stressful on both of us. i tried to keep myself very busy to help the time pass. luckily i had a lot of summer work for school which helped. i planned a lot of day trips to new york and washington and was always out doing things. especially try signing up for something that happens on a weekly basis like a weekly yoga or art class. that'll really really help. and don't stress over the mail coming. i practically drove myself crazy waiting for it everyday. during the first few weeks after he left, i'd stand outside for nearly an hour waiting for the mail truck. whatever you do, write write write! that is so so important. i dunno how mail correspondence works with the navy, but if you are allowed to write to him, make absolutely sure to do so as often as possible. i sent my boyfriend a letter almost every single day and he said sometimes my letters were the only thing getting him through training. send happy stuff. if you go anywhere, send pictures. but use plain envelopes (like don't put stickers or smiley faces on the outside of the envelope or anything) cos they'll get some **** from the drill instructors if they see that. try not to have every letter be all mushy and teary too. it's okay to be like that a little, but your bf prolly knows that you're hurting already and that'll just make things worst. just tell him anything and everything. they are basically cut off during bootcamp so every little detail about the outside world helps. sometimes i would just log onto cnn.com or something and write down all the news headlines for my bf. one time i logged on to his facebook account and told him all of his friends status updates. he loved that :) be as encouraging as possible. even though it seems like his return is eons from now, the time really will go by more quickly than you think. it did for me. it's hard at the beginning right when they leave and then again at the end in those last few days before they come back. a few weeks from now it won't seem as hard i'm guessing. i hope very much that you find this helpful! i don't come from any military background whatsoever so this was entirely new for me and extremely stressful but i got through it and you will too :) peace and love to you
