What Are Some Examples Of Situations That Can Be Seen From Different Perspectives

What is the best example of having different perspectives on the same situation?

These two are best example for different perspectives on the same situation!!!!!!1. "When I was in elementary school, I got into a major argument with a boy in my class. I have forgotten what the argument was about, but I have never forgotten the lesson I learned that day.I was convinced that “I” was right and “he” was wrong – and he was just as convinced that “I” was wrong and “he” was right. The teacher decided to teach us a very important lesson. She brought us up to the front of the class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on the other. In the middle of her desk was a large, round object. I could clearly see that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. “White,” he answered.I couldn’t believe he said the object was white, when it was obviously black! Another argument started between my classmate and me, this time about the color of the object. The teacher told me to go stand where the boy was standing and told him to come stand where I had been. We changed places, and now she asked me what the color of the object was. I had to answer, “White.”It was an object with two differently colored sides, and from his viewpoint it was white. Only from my side it was black.Sometimes we need to look at the problem from the other person’s view in order to truly understand his/her perspective"2. you have two answer here depends on from which side you are looking:

Why is it hard to consider a situation from a different perspective? How do you make it easier?

When I'm all tangled up in a common, daily struggle, I go somewhere with a view.Yesterday, while waiting for the elevator, I looked out the window down onto the street below. I was up so high that people looked small, like toys, with their briefcases and sneakers and coats flapping in the autumn wind.I wonder, how many times does someone see me from a distance?I don't really mean watching me as an individual, as someone that has been attached to a specific identity. I don’t mean attraction or curiosity or being noticed, but rather the opposite of relevance. How many times am I, say, on a Ferry on the San Francisco Bay while someone is looking at the boat from a car driving across the Golden Gate Bridge? How many times does someone lying on the beach see the plane I'm in slowly move across the arch of blue sky in his span of vision? How many times has someone taken a photograph and caught a fragment of me as I move across the frame? How many albums do I live in as even less than a stranger, the tip of my shoe intruding on a picture, a brown blur caused by a curly strand of my hair ruining an otherwise perfect family shot? How many times does someone look down and notice people look like toys, with their briefcases and sneakers and coats flapping in the autumn wind; and realize they not only seem small, but trivial, deceived in their sweet sense of self importance, foolish, really, to be hurrying along as if their efforts really amounted to anything? What I mean is, how many times is one of those minuscule, ant sized people way down below me?

What are some examples of a functionalist perspective in a situation?

A functionalistic view of things means seeing how everything serves a purpose and is useful in some shape or form. The most common example used is probably the human body, it reacts to pain in order to protect itself from damage and instinctively moves away from it. If you run a lot, the muscles in your leg will be damaged slightly and heal with even stronger muscles and more stamina, just as your muscles tear and heal and grow in order to adapt to whatever task you do daily. Not only that but it doesn’t waste anything. If you consume excess and unused nutrients, it stores it up in your body as fat! Which can be used later when food is low.The human body is probably the best example of a functionalistic perspective.

What are some of the best examples of an unforeseen perspective shift?

One of my favorite moments of changed perspective is in the film The Usual Suspects. If you haven't seen it yet, go do so. I won't ruin it for you. Another great cinematic moment about perspective can be found in a nature documentary called Microcosmos. There's a scene where, for several long minutes, you follow the plight of a beatle struggling to roll a big ball of dirt she collected, hoping to get it home (presumably for dinner). The camera then zooms out to show you the grass where the beatle crawls, the road that the grass grows by, the countryside that the road runs through... Bonus track - if you like perspective changes, try the strategy game called Abalone. It was designed to do just that. The board is hexagonally shaped and you can turn it every once in a while to get a totally different perspective of the situation.

What are two different situations of examples of stratification in sociology?

Since your asking about personal experience I will answer using personal experience.

For background I am a 20 year old, white male, living in suburban middle class Virginia, and attend a local community college.

I think an obvious example would be high school. There's constant stratification/separation of social groups.

The dumb jocks.

The smart jocks(think well dressed future fraternity members).

The ditzy unaware girls that are comfortable in their own ignorance. Often befriend dumb and smart jocks.

The bookworm nerds who hardly leave their homes and don't know much of what goes on outside of school or chemistry club.

The lookalike nerds who aren't smarter than the majority, but spend their time playing warcraft instead of doing homework.

The punk kids(punk rock, Mohawks, vans, frequent concert goers that believe they are more committed and righteous in they interests)

The goths. Typically befriend the nerdier types and even the punk kids sometimes.

The "minorities" I guess you could say. The Spanish, Mexican, blacks, Asians all have their own sort of niche.

Typing all of this on my phone, but I feel like I hit on some of the major clicks.

They all interact very differently and can have varying levels of openness to newcomers and openness to mixture of other groups.

Like the goths/nerds are typically very open to accepting new friends of all types. A lot of the goth/emo/social introverts are the ones that tend to value friendship and shared interests no matter what type of person.

The punks can also be very accepting, but there's some different subgroups in the punk culture that can be a little more extreme/judgmental/ and choosy with their friends.

As we know, the jocks and popular types seem to only avail themselves to other jock/popular types.

Why do different people react differently to the same situation?

Perspective is EVERYTHING.

We all see the world through our filters. A builder will notice things about how a building is made that most of just dont see.

A car sales man will tell you the make and model and tint colour of the car in question.
A security guard will know the number plate by heart.
A fashion designer may notice other details, like accessories inside the car. Things hanging from the rearvision mirror. Or what the driver was wearing.

We all see the world through different eyes. Isnt it WONDERFUL.

What are some examples of "cultural perspective"?

What are some examples of "cultural perspective"?In regards to psychology, cultural perspectives are how our culture influences the way in which we learn and think. According to the sociocultural approach, cultural factors such as language, art, social norms and social structures can play a significant role in the creation of the individual’s perception, behavior, and personality. Some small examples:Chinese people often smile when embarrassed, while some Americans think they aren’t being taken seriously.Americans have larger arm movements and louder voices than those in Thailand, so are at times considered rude there.Italians yell at each other as a way of expressing themselves in elevated emotional situations, while some people would consider these actions to make a situation worse. Many will yell to express feelings of anger while others sublimate them and deal with their anger physically as that is what they are taught, control in anger, redirect emotions elsewhere. Some people revere pets like dogs and cats, allowing them in the home and as part of the family. Others think they are nuisance and should live outside the house, only allowed inside if weather becomes intolerable. Even other cultures allow the cooking and eating of animals that others feel are pets. Horse meat in America is frowned upon but in other countries, they aren’t so able to choose. In America there are many different cultures that converge in large cities e.g. New York City, NY. It is in dense but richly diverse populations when you find the most interesting differences in cultural perspective. Not only are you dealing with people from all over the USA and their personal customs and oddities of upbringing in their home towns and states, but you have people from other countries bringing their experiences and beliefs which creates for some interesting differences as well as funny misunderstandings.

What are some examples of sociological perspectives?

There’s 3 main sociological theories:structural functionalism, conflict theory and symbolic interactionism. However they differ, the most universal perspective can be concluded by ‘sociological imagination’,put your personal story and experiences into a larger societal even global context. And try to see the general patterns/paradigm of social activities ranging from your personal interactions with others to large social changes and movements.Say if you are living under different conditions with your friends or celebrities, you might attribute that to social stratification and think of where your position is on the social ladder. If we see two movie stars dating together,is it just because they are in love? What else do they need to consider? Think about class, ethnicity, age and sex and sexuality. If you are into popular culture like comic books or Marvel superheroes, how does these reflect the society’s value ? You might consider the individualistic society we are in.If you travel to a new city and see people interacting differently, you might consider using symbolic interactionism to explain it.If you line up like everyone else in the grocery store ,if you say ‘How are you’ to your friends when you meet ,you need to think how you are socialized that way all the time that you become part of the society’s running machine. What keeps society going on ? What forms such a seamless system that everyone seems to follow ? Sociologists find the strange from the normal. So think big, and think outside of the box—Seeing the general in the particular, seeing the strange in the familiar , seeing society in our everyday lives.Seeing our personal life as part of the changing societal ,national and even global process. That’s sociological perspective.
