What Are Some Flaws In The Modern Feminist Movement

What is the modern feminist movements objective?

I asked a similar question earlier
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
and i received 12 answers

Another poster asked this question
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
berating a man for a medical condition and spreading misandry and received 35 responses

This really shocked me, i asked a legitimate question and received very little response from feminists

Im starting to understand why modern feminism has a bad rep and sadly, as a woman, i still don't understand its objectives

Feminism and women's rights movements?

The following are two questions posed by Gallup (for those unfamiliar with various polling sources, Gallup is an excellent stamp of accuracy to have when looking for opinion statistics) to women about their impressions of feminism and women's rights, with the exact phrasing of the question quoted, and the margins of error (when significant) accounted for by the two separate percentages:

"Do you consider yourself a feminist, or not?"

* Yes (26.09% / 32.53%)
* No (66.60% / 60.66%)
* Sometimes/depends (4.54% / not an answer option)
* Don't know/refused (2.77% / 6.81%)

"There are many social movements that try to have an impact on policy-making in our nation. Regardless of how much impact, if any, the Women's Rights Movement has had, please tell me if you personally agree or disagree with its goals."

* Strongly agree (45.38%)
* Somewhat agree (40.07%)
* Somewhat disagree (8.73%)
* Strongly disagree (4.24%)

So, while only a quarter to a third of women identify as 'feminists,' over 95% of women agree with the goals of the women's rights movement. This causes me to think that perhaps most women see feminism as something different from the women's rights movement.

So, my question is, do YOU see the feminism movement and the women's rights movement as different or the same? How would you have answered these poll questions? If you see the feminism and women's rights movements as different, what are the differences?

What are the flaws in Indian feminists?

When a man asks for money from women during wedding it is called dowry, it's wrong accepted. But when a women seeks only those men with 1 lakh rupees salary, bank balance, own house, car etc as a prospective husband she's just looking for financial security.When a man went to Sania mirzas HOUSE ( long time back) with a proposal to marry her police dragged him out, manhandled him and charged him with criminal case. When same thing happened with M S Dhoni the girl was pacified by the police, her parents where informed and she was convinced to go home. We'll the offense here is same but two different treatments.According to delhi womens commission half of dowry cases in India are fake. Police is reluctant to file rape cases because of a high number of false complaints due to which innocent women who deserve a strong law suffer.Women were not allowed inside aiyappa temple because the history says “ Aiyappa killed a demon, out came a beautiful princess who requested the Lord aiyappa to marry her which was politely refused, on persistence aiyappa said the year kini swamis that is first time shabrimala visitors don't come that year I will marry you, so the women out of empathy for the Princess put a self imposed ban on themselves not to enter the temple to help the princess marriage with aiyappa. Now narrow minded feminist with little knowledge of history have made this also into a women empowerment issue.Women empowerment for the narrow minded feminist is male bashing.They say they are equal to men but demand reservation. They demand reservations in government jobs but don't want to take transfers because of their gender. When it comes to benefits they ask for reservations and play the feminism card when it comes to efforts.Not all men are goons and not all women are saints.

What is the biggest flaw in feminist ideology?

The biggest flaw is not taking men's rights into consideration. By advocating and advancing women's rights beyond the point of equality and fighting to prevent men's equal rights in regards to reproduction rights(paper abortion, visitation rights), equality under the law ( see reasonable women rulings), access to non bias education.

Feminist's work to stack the decks in women's favor while knowing damn well no one speaks for men and men are punished and humiliated by society when we try to stand up for ourselves.

If most people say they hate modern feminism, why is it still around as a modern social norm?

If most people say they hate modern feminism, why is it still around as a modern social norm?Because equality is an important value, no matter how many people don’t like it.

Anti-feminist women: Why are you against feminism?

Because the feminist movement has transformed from activism for equality to some kind of whinning festival of people searching for an identity since they havent developed one of their own.

Many feminist's problems are a direct result of her choice to condone and participate in a patriarchial society... reap its benefits and complain about its flaws. Women are stronger than that, and are capable of fighting the patriarchial system.

So many feminists want to walk around with "victim" on their brows when they are only suffering the consequences of their own actions or lack thereof.

Misandric and gynocentric feminist laws and societal changes simply due to the law of unintended consequences?

An (old) example of breast cancer bias:

In Fiscal Year 2000, the federal government funded research into breast cancer—which kills about 41,500 women per year—at $424,900,000. Research into prostate cancer—which kills about 31,700 men annually—got $190,000,000.
In the same budget, breast cancer outreach and screening programs got $185,000,000, while such programs aimed at prostate cancer received $11,000,000.
That’s $14,700 per female death, $6340 per male.
On February 14, 2001 Representative Randy (Duke) Cunningham (R-CA) introduced legislation to establish an Office of Men’s Health to parallel the Office of Women’s Health, which was created in 1991.
