What Are Some Fun Things To Do With My Bunny

Why does my bunny squeak? Am i doing something wrong?

Ok so my 3 month old bunny just made a very soft squeak, but even though it was soft and quiet i got a little worried.I was picking her up to take her out of the cage because i had to clean her cage and i gave it to my mom who was sitting on the couch reading.I placed my bunny on my moms stomach and my mom just petted her nothing else.It was just for a minute, she seemed very happy and not scared at all.I picked her up of course the right way n i hugged her, while i was putting her down, she was close to my chest and i heard a little squeak.I got nervous but i let her down very slowly. After that nothing happened, she was just running around, like nothing just happened. She is now fine, eating, drinking and playing. But im still alittle worried.Did i scare her?Am i doing something wrong? Why did she squeak?Thank you very much for the help!I love her, and i dont want her to feel bad or scared, i want her to feel like part of my family, because shes my baby..Thanks

I think my rabbit likes shiny things?

my buck is really funny, i have this gold bracelet that he tries to rip off my arm and when i give it to him he throws it across the room. i know throwing things is normal for rabbits when they play, but he seams to have an obsession with shiny things. when I'm laying on the ground he loves to bite at my earings and my necklace. not to mention how much he goes nuts when you give him a soda can.

is it normal for rabbits to like shiny things?
or is my bunny crazy?

My bunny has a smelly bum bum?

my bunny Thumper, has a very stinky botty.
he is an out door bunny and it is now the wet/rainy season (we are in New Zealand).

every weekend we bring him and his sister in for some fun indoor time but last week we noticed his bum had lots of poo on it. we washed him (after some difficulty) around the poopy area and dryed him off.

he seems fine and happy and we feed him and Mimsy the same food as we always have---carrots, spinach, brocley, pellats, water, apples ect

today i brought him out and he had more poo, so we washed him again. but now, even though the poo is gone, he stinks! Mimsy (his sister) is fine and dosent have this problem at all.

Thumper= 2 years and abit (male)
Mimsy=1year and abit (female)

is there anything i can do to help him?
im scared of him becoming infected with maggots but its a massive hassel to wash him everyday-once a week like this is more than enough.

he is litter trained and uses a litter box in his hutch

HELP! IM GOING TO DIE FROM STINKY BUMS!!!

note: he is a minilop. and there is no chance my mum will allow him to live inside our house.... especially since this!

What would be some fun things to do with my dutch rabbit, to gain more of her trust?

I adopted Vienna (my dutch bunny) from the humane society about a month ago and she is just starting to come back out of her shell, such as; licking me, coming to me when she is running around, and layin on my back. after not being socialized with for her first year of life because she had 21 other rabbits surrounding her in a little shed before her and her fellow rabbits got rescued.

How old should kids be when the Easter Bunny stops coming?

He's a PARTY POOPER!

My kids are 15 & 13 too and they of course know the truth, they have for about 5 years now but we still do the Easter Hunt. It's tradition. My siblings and I all meet at my mothers house and all her Grands do the hunt together.

There are some years that we just don't feel like it, or money is tight and we think it'd be really easy to call it off, or only do it for the little kids, but the little kids need to see the excitement on the older kids faces to have fun so we still do the whole thing like we always did.

The baby of the family is 4 and the oldest is 15 so we've been doing hunts for a long time, and still have at least 6 years to go before the baby starts getting tired of them. By then, there could be MORE babies...who knows.

Never stop the hunt. We'll be doing them until we're 80 at this rate. lol

How can I toilet train my bunny rabbits?

It's actually not that hard. Rabbits prefer not to do their business in the same area as they sleep and eat. You need to make enough space available for them that they can separate the two, and then make sure they have a proper litter box (the cat type is perfect). Whenever you catch the little bugger doing his business, you pick him up and move him to the litter box. Keep doing that for a few days and he will soon understand that this is a much better arrangement overall. The only difficulty is male rabbits who will sometimes wee on furniture and such to mark their territory. That's a little more difficult to deal with.

What can I use to entertain my pet bunny rabbits?

Ideally, give them a room or several rooms to roam around and explore (which are rabbit-proofed and safe for them). If you have to keep them in an enclosed area most of the time, this is even more important. Rabbits like to hop up on furniture, although if you have an older rabbit jumping down from a high up piece of furniture can be risky for them. Rabbits are pretty curious and love to explore, so this is a good way to keep them entertained. They also like to rearrange and modify their living areas, so make sure they can do that--i.e., chew on their hiding spot or move stuff around in their area, dig at any towels they might sit on, etc. There are lots of toys you can buy rabbits; Oxbow has a lot of good stuff, and The Busy Bunny Home also has good products. Our rabbits thought the hay they use to fill the balls was amazing. Cardboard boxes with a hole pre-cut out for the rabbit to get in and out are also great. Rabbits like to chew on the cut out areas and nudge the box around. Make sure the cardboard box hasn't been coated or painted with anything--anything rabbits chew onĀ  you should view as something they might ingest. And if you have way more time than me, you can make something like this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&...Holding a stick (that's safe for your rabbit to eat) while they chew on it is a fun thing to do with your rabbit if you can get them to start chewing on it, although be careful to not let them chew near your fingers. I never got bit by accident but it's good to avoid it! One of our rabbits would pull a card from our hand if we presented him with a set of cards fanned out, which I think was more fun for us than for him, but he seemed to like doing it.

Why does my bunny pee on the floor?

Is she spayed. If she isn't then that is the problem. Unfixed male and female rabbits will spray pee to mark their territory. YOu will need to get her fixed if you ever want to litter train her and if you don't want her to develop ovarian cancer(over 80% unfixed females get cancer).

If she is fixed then I would suggest hitting the whole litter box trainning thing harder. Start her out in smaller more confined spaces preferably. WHen I was attempting to litter train my bunny. I didn't put any bedding down in the cage, I only filled a litter box with lavender bunny litter. She kind of automatically didn't want to pee outside the litter box b/c there was nothing to soke it up and she would have to step in it. Eventually after they catch on, you can put bedding back in their cage. Some people swear by litter box trainning, but hte truth is there are some bunnies who just never get it. My advice is when you let her out, keep her in a smaller area for now and put a piece of plastic down. Leae the cage door open(with the litter box inside) and you need to get a second litter box to place outside the cage. Put it in the same spot every time, so she doesn't get confused and praise her and give her a small treat every time she hops in the litter box, even if she doesn't go to the bathroom, so she associates the litter box with a good thing. Also make sure the litter box is big enough for her.
