If you have Turner Classic Movies, the following are must-sees:Remember the Night (1940) - the most romantic comedy-drama on the list, starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck four years before they paired with Double Indemnity, with a Preston Sturges script. Very funny at places, very romantic in others, and ends honorably.The Holly And the Ivy (1952) - this is a serious post-war drama that is powerful in its depiction of an Anglican vicar’s home, and is a rarity showing in the U.S. Catch it to see a young Denholm Elliot, who later grew up to assist Indiana Jones in a few films.It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947) - a very funny romantic comedy centered around a homeless person who moves into an empty mansion for the holidays. Hijinks ensue.Holiday Inn (1942) - Charming, funny, and breathtaking. Its only sour note is the “Abraham” sequence, which, to its credit, services the plot. But other than that, this is the movie that helped define what Christmas means to today’s popular culture.The Man Who Came To Dinner (1942) - this is my favorite Christmas movie! Still funny after many many multiple viewings. Still endlessly quotable. Still nerve-wrackingly chaotic. When you think it’s run out of air, they bring in Jimmy Durante, who demonstrates he had the chops to go toe-to-toe with Steve Martin, Jim Carrey, and the late Robin Williams. This is classic comedy at its finest.

It is "A Year Without a Santa Claus" . It has Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Santa wants to cancel Christmas because he thinks that people don't believe in him anymore. Mrs. Claus sends two elves with a reindeer to find out more and they get into trouble. I think that is the one you are talking about. The Miser Brothers hate each other and both sing a song about themselves. "I'm Mr. Heat Miser, I'm Mr. Sun, I'm Mr. Green Christmas, I'm Mr. Hundred and one...."
Which Christmas movies do you make sure to watch every year during the holidays? What makes them special to you?
Home Alone: I love it: Kevin McCallister is a not so likable sibling, and finds he’s left alone, while family is gone, and goes on a spending spree and gets away with it. He defends the home with traps, captures the thieves and the family comes home with police making the arrests. Home Alone2: Again a family goes on vacation and Mrs, Mcallister, realizes Kevin is gone missing eventually flies home, but this time, Kevin is pursued in a park.
