What Are Some Good Careers For Infj Personality Type

Career choices for an INFJ Personality-Type?

Congratulations! You are a part of the most rare personality type! Less than one percent of people are INFJs. So you are one of a very limited number of your personality type.
From what I can tell online, any physician/practitioner career would fit well, but that also requires a ton of schooling. It also mentioned teaching, photography, religious and clergy work.
I happen to be one of the more indecisive types... ENFP. I still don't know what I'm doing. :)

What's a good career for someone with an INFJ Personality Type?

Lets start with your ID ( beatnick? ) that sums up a lot. I have to tell you that you are not the first or millionth person to get a degree and not be happy with their job.. A business degree is kind of a cop-out isn't it? I mean, if you really know what you want to do in life wouldn't you get a more specific degree?
I think you just don't know what you want to be when you grow up yet. I'm 46 and I'm not sure yet. You did good earning your degree, so you must be smart. Be smarter and admit you made a mistake. Think about who you are. I would suggest taking a behavioral test, one such as DISC profiling. You can look it up on Google. This test, if you answer honestly will help you see things like, what motivates you as a person, what do you dislike, what's your pace, do you like people or would you rather work alone? It is a fasinating look at who we are. I was floored by it the first time I took it. But I learned so much about myself. It is easy and clear, not confusing like some phsycological exams.

Example; I am classified as a (high I, high S, high C and low D) What this mean is that my main motivation is recognition. I need a job where I can attract attention. I am not very competitive but I like people to think I am the best even if I don't win. I like people and I like to help people, I am fast paced and I pay attention to details. I can be a Bookkeeper and be happy for a while. I make a good listner and could work as a teacher or counsler, but I really enjoy taking on new projects and leading, I like to help others achieve success.

I would not make a good assembly worker, athlete, lawer, doctor or CEO. I know what makes me tick and I know what I don't like. Try it.

Prior to taking this test, I had 26 jobs in the course of 22 years. Since then I have had two. I enjoy my life much more now because I undrstand why I failed and why I succeded where I did. I know hwy my marriages in the past faile and why I have now been married to the same woman for 17 years and love it. I know who I am, I know who is around me and what I need to be happy. Good luck

Reading, it empowers the mind, and helps activate the imagination, which then generates a world that can be expressed though writing. Pick a book that awakens the soul, it's a very powerful experience. It creates a visual realm that inspires you to draw, and it helps bring what you envision into your environment. Pursue a way you can help improve the welfare, and happiness of others. Be their for a friend, listen, observe. Volunteer at a animal shelter. Helping people, or animals is a way for you to use what you are great at. Your intrinsic essence is sensitivity, compassion, and empathy, you will automatically want to connect with the hearts of others. The arts, such as plays, dance, art galleries are one of many ways to dabble in your creativity, and the beauty of life. Continue to do what makes your heart sing.Be sure not to forget to surround yourself with lots of love, peace, health in your efforts! Have fun!

Do other INFJ personality typed people do this?

There is a book called "Please Understand Me" and it will explain in minute detail about your temperament and your personality. Get the original book as their is another book, part II but the first book is the best. Any book store will be able to order this book if they do not already have it in stock. It is a very popular book, and easy read and often used as a text book. I am an INTJ and all my life I have felt like an outsider, like I was different. Turns out I was right. Out of 100 people their will be one more person like me where as most personalities have a lot of company 16-24 out of a 100 will be of the same temperament.

INFJ personalities, what careers are you happiest in?

I don't know what a good career for you would be, but I suggest you try reading the book, "Do What You Are." I was completely miserable in a corporate writing job. I thought I had made a huge mistake getting a journalism major, that I actually hated writing, but my yoga teacher recommended that book, and after reading it, I realized that with my personality type, I did not do well with the disorganization in the company I worked for and that my personality did not mesh well with my flighty boss'. I now have a job as a reporter at a small business newspaper, and I could not be happier. See what the book has to say about your personality type. You might be completely suited for business, just a different kind. Business is a pretty broad category. I bet there's something out there just right for you. Good luck!

An INFJ personality type is found much less often in careers that are characterized by a great deal of technical work, attention to detail, work that requires realistic precision or production, or work that requires more business and bureaucratic management abilities. The INFJ type will also be less attracted to careers that require more practical hands-on or mechanical work, or careers that may involve a significant amount of interpersonal conflic.

What types of careers would really interest someone with an INFJ or INFP Personality?

INFJs and INFPs both tend to choose careers in one of two broad fields: helping careers (counseling, education, health care) and artistic careers (writing, design, music). Helping occupations are appealing to people of these two types because of their ability to see the potential in other people and their interest in helping others improve their lives. Artistic occupations appeal because they allow these types to express themselves and their creative ideas.

Although INFJs and INFPs choose similar careers, INFJs are more likely to prefer a structured environment because of their Judging preference. INFJs prefer a work environment where expectations and standard procedures are fairly clear. For this reason they are more likely to enjoy office work than are INFPs. INFPs prefer a more spontaneous and flexible work environment.
