What Are Some Good Healthy Food For Breakfast Lunch And Dinner For A 18 Mths Old She

Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Toddlers?

I make pancakes for my son in large batches so that during the week, all I have to do is heat them up and his breakfast is ready. Here's what I put in them:

1/2 cup oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 cup diced, cooked apple (very small pieces)
1/2 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup splenda
1-2 tsp cinnamon (per taste)
1-2 tsp nutmeg (per taste)
1 egg
1 cup bisquick
1/2 cup milk

Mix it all up. Your batter will be very thick. You can add water, and I usually do, but add it 1 tbsp at a time or so. I've made the mistake TOO OFTEN of adding too much water and then they get runny, lol.

Also, the nutritional value of these is about 100 calories per 1/4 cup of batter.

My son LOVES these and with the oatmeal, pumpkin and apples, I know he's getting some good nutrients. He can also take these on the go!

Does eating two slice of whole wheat bread for breakfast and dinner and 120gm of rice for lunch too much carb?

Ok, so the first thing to realize is that Carbs are NOT bad for you. The media and stupid fad diets like Atkins have demonized carbs as bad, which is bogus. Some carbs are bad for you, mostly simple sugars like you find in soda, candy bars, etc. Carbs found in whole grains, veggies, fruit , etc are Complex Carbohydrates, very different. You ate whole wheat high fiber bread, which is very good for you, multigrain is better, but at least you didn't eat white bread. There is nothing wrong with rice and anyone who says there so, is totally full of crap. Why? 1 billion Asians cannot be wrong and rice is a staple for them!! Ever see a fat Asian? No.

My advice, DON'T worry about the carbs, totally ignore that, just stay away from the simple sugars. More importantly, eat a balanced diet, lean meats, fish, complex carbs, fiber, fruit and veggies. Manage this with portion control, don't over eat or go back for seconds.

Find your BMR online, Basal Metabolic Rate, which is how many calories your body requires on a daily baisis, based on height, weight, age, gender and level of daily activity. Assuming you are lightly active, 1-3 days of exercise a week, your body needs just over 2000 calories a day to function.

According to the height/ weight charts, you are not overweight for your height, assuming you have a medium frame. You shouldn't really lose anymore than 10lbs, max.

What should i feed my 1 year old? HEALTHY FOODS!!!?

I have a 13 month old and she is still eating the same things she was at 10 month. I am looking for ideas of healthy GROWN UP meals to give her. I try to stick to everything healthy and organic so i am shocked to read that people are feeding their kids hotdogs and canned tuna!!!

She has 6 teeth and loves to chew on Cheerios but swallows most other foods without chewing them.
I will really appreciate specifics, and also saying GIVE HER WHATEVER U EAT doesnt really help b.c i dont really cook, mostly order out and i am not giving my baby any salt/sugar or other stuff found in takeout. I also am NOT a fan on GERBER canned foogs or meals, i prepare everything myself to avoid preservatives and sugars.

Also, if you can suggest what i can prepare for 2-3 days in advance that would also be helpful b.c i will have another baby in 2 month and cooking everyday just wont be possible for me!

thank you very much, here is a sample of my baby's diet:
11am- baby cereal with 4-5oz of milk followed by a small jar of fruit ( i make the fruit in Beaba still, and i give her a small jar b.c she gets hichups if i give her more)
2pm - soup chicken or turkey and little pieces of bread
3pm - 4-5 oz of milk
6pm - baby yogurt
8-9pm baby cereal with 4-5 oz of milk sometimes followed by banana
11pm 4-5 oz of milk
if she wakes up at night after 4am i give her more milk

thanks again!

My 8 month old is HUGE, he is 30 inches and 25 lbs. and I am not sure if he is eating too much or too little.?

Why is he having a bottle at midnight?

Does he sleep through the night? (healthy sleep habits, healthy child-Marc Weisbluth) My daughter's pediatrician recommended that book. It is excellent.

He should be around 20-24oz of milk/formula a day, with 3 little meals.

Does he have any proteins in his diet? Pureed meats are ok at that age. Protein will help with iron levels and help him build muscles and give him greater satiety.

My 6 month old daughter is nearly 29 inches tall, but she only weighs 17lbs. She is 99.2% for height, and 84% for weight, so she's healthy. A friend has a 9 month old that is her height, but weighs 21lbs.
He was quite chubby, but the doctor said the weight was fine.

I feed my daughter 24-30oz of milk/formula each day, and she gets however much fruits/veggie puree and cereal that she'll eat. I'm letting her build up her own appetite for the new foods.

I might recommend getting that last 8oz in earlier in the day.

I'd also recommend that you should contact your child's pediatrician to see whether he/she feels that the diet and his weight is acceptable.

Is cheerios enough for a 13 month baby to eat for breakfast?

My little girl was EXACTLY the same at that age! I felt there was no point forcing her to eat if she was not hungry, she was in the 85th percentile though and she was also breastfed (until 18mths). I gave her healthy snacks instead and a really good lunch. She still used to feed in the middle of the night at that age so that is probably why she was not very hungry in the morning.

You could try offering him breakfast before the breastfeed or give him half his usual feed then some breakfast, he might be more inclined to eat something without a tummy full of milk. All babies are different, my little one was just not interested in breakfast until she was about 16 months and now it is probably her favourite meal and eats really well.

Toddlers usually become fussy in the evening and they wont eat well if they are tired, I have to feed my little one before 5.30pm or she does not eat well at all. I would say continue with feeding him an hour earlier if he eats well!

Healthy Meal ideas for Toddlers?

Everyone deserves to get to eat their favorite foods once in a while, but there is no reason on Earth that kids should expect to eat "kids' foods." Gross.

Your child should eat what you eat. And the more flavors and textures you expose her to now, the less picky of an eater she'll be later.

Quesadillas are fast, kids usually like them, and you can use up all your leftovers making them. My kids love dahl and curry. Or tacos/enchiladas. They also love corkscrew pasta dressed with brocolli, little bits of chicken, grated parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic, and salt and pepper. Thick soups are messy, but tasty and toddlers like the challenge. Especially if they get to dip bread into it. Chili is good, especially if you serve it over tiny pasta shells. You can make pita pizzas or pizza using a Boboli crust, and your toddler can help top it. Shish kebob and couscous are always a hit at our house. And tilapia (white fish) topped with zucchini, onions, and dill, and served with risotto and green veggies...

None of those meals take a lot of time if you keep the ingredients around the house. My husband does our cooking. He doesn't start until 5:30 or 5:45, and our kids are always eating between 6 and 6:30. Or you can spend one afternoon a week making a big caserole, stew, or pot of soup, and then you can use the leftovers all week.

Basically, if you like it, serve it. Include your child, to the extent possible, in the preparation. And then expect her to eat. She doesn't have to clear her plate; she just has to try everything that's on it. And she may surprise you. If she turns up her nose, that's OK. No child has ever starved herself to death. Don't fix her anything as a substitute. Just offer something different next time. And keep your expectations high.

The payoff will be a healthier, more pleasant child who you can take to eat anywhere.

My 14-month-old toddler only wants to breast-feed and refuses to eat food. I think my milk supply is low but she still doesn't want to eat. Is she getting enough nutrition? How do I make sure she is healthy?

Ask your pediatrician to follow your toddler's weight gain. Ask to see the height and weight chart kept by your pediatrician. Set aside some time to speak to your pediatrician about your toddler's eating habits, and your concerns about whether she is getting enough nutrition. When you breastfeed, the thick, calorie-rich milk comes when baby is most hungry and her suck is strongest. Then, as the baby's nursing 'meal' continues, the baby's suck becomes less strong and the 'hind' milk is more watery. When you begin the next feeding, you begin on the side where you ended; you switch with each feeding to make sure you're producing milk evenly. Forgive me, please, if I'm telling you something you already know. Please do not let anyone shame you into thinking it is time to wean. You and your baby will know when it is time. Different children need different things. And it is the aware parent who will give to each child what is needed.Consider the issue of separation anxiety. At 14 months of age, she is certainly noticing when you are absent, and probably is having an emotional reaction to that, which could be evidenced by her behavior (behavior is 'speech' for a preverbal and barely-verbal baby or child). To minimize the possibility that separation is bothering her (and you!), be sure to say hello and goodbye whenever you plan to be apart from her. Never sneak out. Never leave when she is napping without first reassuring her by telling her which separation events will be happening in her daily schedule -- and when: "You will be asleep while I am at the market, and when you wake up, X will be here until I get back. I will be back soon after your snacktime. Mommies always come back!" Remember that babies have no sense of clocktime, but do know what comes next in their daily schedule. So use words like "First, next, and then, last" to describe time, which lets her know what happens, when.
