What are really good books for an 18 year old to read?
I love Meg Cabot (Heather Wells [upcoming movie]& Queen of Babble [upcoming movie], and tons of others), Sophie Kinsella's (AKA: Madeleine Wickham) (Shopaholic [movie based on her books] & Remember Me), Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed & Certain Girls), Jane Green (Mr. Maybe) Emily Giffin (Something Borrowed & Something Blue), Lauren Weisberger (Devil Wears Prada, Chasing Harry Winston), and Candance Bushnell (Sex and the City) books. They are all great authors! For a young adult/teen Meg Cabot's young adult books. She is the best author. Also best selling. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), All-American Girl (up coming movie), Jinx, Airhead and more. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her. If you want more info or any of the authors website's email me. You should use the website, What Should I read Next. What are some of the best young adult fiction books you have read?
UNWIND DYSTOLOGY - Neal ShustermanI’m a female and I love this series to pieces. No pun intended.I’ve read a lot of YA over the years as a teenager still stuck in the system called high school.BUT SERIOUSLY!I loved this series more than the Hunger Games after burning through this series.I was born in the HG era, was forced to read The Outsiders, and then lived to enjoy the Divergent Trilogy but this?(I cried for Johnny only because it was on audio book.)I picked it up on a whim, thinking that the concept was relatively interesting and had good reviews. I read it while on vacation.Unlike other YA authors Shusterman doesn’t bowdlerize his work so teenagers will read his work. Rather, it’s just the right amount of romance, numerous plot twists, and just enough gore. His writing is in third person and is anything but amateur writing. He is by far one of the most underrated YA authors. He has worked as a screenwriter as well as an author. This book has been considered required reading at some schools but it is by far anything but that. The romance is more realistic than the HG and so is the ending. Also, the writing is better than Divergent.DID I MENTION PLOT TWISTS EVERYWHERE?The concept? It’s a dystopian novel that centers around three characters: Lev, Risa, and Connor. The society is set in modern times, just a little after the iPhone became an outdated piece of technology. But really? It’s practically set in modern times probably still set in the 21st century. The only difference between now and in their world is that kids can be unwound if they are under the age of 18. Abortion is illegal. Instead, parents have the option to unwind their kid. If they have their kid unwound, they are sent to camps in which they are sent away so that 99.9% of their body parts can be given to others as transplants. Some of the kids are delinquents, some are orphans, and some were sacrificed so their parents could give 10% for religious purposes.Oiy. I know. Weird. Just pick it up and read it. If you’re itching for plot twists? Read it. Good romance? Read it. :D

Harry Potter is among my top three favorites, so I guess I'll just have to give you my top two before I go on to my long list: Fablehaven by Brandon Mull Pendragon by DJ MacHale Others (I put the titles for books that don't have a specific series name, but most are series): The 39 Clues by various authors Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan The Inkheart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke (Inkheart, Inkspell, Inkdeath) The Land of Elyon by Patrick Carman Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson Gilda Joyce by Jennifer Allison The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis The Books of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler The Otherworldlies by Jennifer Anne Kogler Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn The Bar Code by Suzanne Weyn (The Bar Code Tattoo, The Bar Code Rebellion) Coraline by Neil Gaiman Chasing Yesterday by Robin Wasserman Grey Griffins by Derek Benz and JS Lewis The Stoneheart Trilogy by Charlie Fletcher Septimus Heap by Angie Sage The Theif Lord by Cornelia Funke Triskellion by Will Peterson The Headless Cupid by Zilpha Keatley Snyder The Old Willis Place by Mary Downing Hahn Planning on reading, because it sounds good: The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan (Comes out tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4) I also recommend RL Stine. He's written a lot more than just the Goosebumps books (which are still good, no matter how old you are!), like The Boyfriend, The Girlfriend, and all the Fear Street books...
Book recommendations for a teenage boy?
Hi. I'm 16 years old, I'm a boy, and I like to read. I pretty much like any type of action novel (whether it be fantasy, science fiction, superhero, etc). Just to give an idea, some of my favorite series that I've kept up with recently are the Chronicles of Nick series by Sherrilyn Kenyon (I just finished the latest one, Illusion), the Insignia series by S.J. Kincaid, the Unwind series by Neil Schusterman, and Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. I tend to prefer books with male protagonists, just because I can connect with them more, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a good one every now and then with a female protagonist like Hunger Games. I've read a lot of the books for the genre I like and right now I can't seem to find anything that I want to read, despite scouring the Kindle store for hours. I feel like very few authors write towards my "demographic" anymore, most of the "hot new YA" books are dystopian/paranormal romance books that are primarily written for teen female audience (i.e. Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, the Mortal Instrument Series, Twilight, the Selection series, even Hunger Games in some ways). Those aren't the kind of books I like to read, and so for me there is a lot of downtime after I've finished a book to find a new one. I've read so many of the good series for the genres I like that almost any time I get recommendation it's one I've already read. That being said, does anyone have a good book/series recommendation for me? I'd really appreciate it
