What are some good stores to buy grunge/rock/punk style clothing?

Thrift stores are an awesome start. If you look, you’ll see that most punks just wear whatever they want and add their own flair to it. Denim vest? Boring. Add some patches? Punk! Camo pants? *Yawn*. Cut them off and get a studded belt? Yeah! Paying too much to just “look the part” is akin to being a poseur. Nobody wants that.That being said, there are some good websites for getting shirts, studs, patches and things like that. Overhead costs on things like T-shirts and records can get really expensive, and buying from the band directly helps them out a great deal. I know this from experience. I’ve printed thousands of shirts for bands, and it’s hard to get a deal. Bootlegs are great for bands that don’t exist anymore, but don’t steal from folks that are currently working!If stuff does not exist for them, look up ways to make it yourself. I’ve spent tons of hours studding vests and belts rather than let someone else do it. I also learned to sew, which was great for patches, but also helps my clothes last longer. Plus, if there’s a local place to get your things, please try that first. I’ve been in cities with *ahem* leather shops (like leather daddy, not Tandy Leather, but Tandy has studs too, actually) and they’ve had studs and spikes and solid leather belts. Granted, it’s for the S&M crowd, but it’s the same thing.So, to sum up: Support the bands you like, shop locally, and DIY or DIE!
