What Are Some Good Ways To Get Yourself Out Of A Deep Depression

Deep depression after a breakup?

Hi, I understand how you feel...breaking up with someone you probably loved a lot is never easy, especially if you were already tierd in the relationship. I get the cold turkey thing is hard, you seem more strong than myself - I always cave in.

Listen, you aren't depressed...it's normal...I think you need to get your life back together now that the relationship has ended imagine how much freedom you have to the things you might not have before, go out, drinking, meet people at clubs, join some classes, go to the gym...you need to stop this mentality because the more you think this way and seclude yourself from the world and friends and family, the worse and worse it will get...

Just remember it's all about choice - do you choose to go day in day out feeling shitty and unhappy that things aren't the way you want them to be?
or do you choose to start fresh and start living your life...get out there, there's so much to explore and SO many possibilties that you are missing out on, learning about yourself, meeting new people...better suited people...by just being locked up in your room.

you need to be proactive! goodluck you will be fine :)

Depression in 14 year old girl? help?

I'm crying. Honest to God, I'm crying. I thought I was the only one my age with these same problems.

All I can say is: please, don't consider suicide.

As for the self harm- Have you heard of the Butterfly Project?

Whenever you feel the need to hurt yourself or whenever you get panicked, or anxious, go sit somewhere quiet, find a pen, and draw a little butterfly. If you hurt yourself before it fades (naturally, no scrubbing it off), you've killed it. Sooner or later, you'll get more joy out of creating the butterfly than digging your nails into your skin.

Don't worry about crying. It's a very good way to relieve stress and to get everything out of your system.

Please, dear, don't think that you're not worth it. I think you're worth it. If you've helped your mom the way I assume you have, she thinks you're worth it. It's a good thing to be mature. Treat yourself like an adult, thinking things like: I'm too good for this depression. Nobody can put me down. I'm so damn beautiful.

You'll begin to believe them because, honey, they're true.

Make up? Who needs it? I bet you're more beautiful without it anyway!

Nightmares...nightmares, nightmares, nightmares....well, there's got to be a cause for them and your depression certainly seems like the cause.

Maybe you should go to a hospital or somewhere like that ( I know, you don't want to) and get help. I wish I could do it, but the nearest hospital is about 10 miles away. Anti-depressants would do us both good.

Please, I think you're worth it. As creepy as it may sound coming from a stranger- I believe in you. You'll live through this. No, it's not a phase, but you'll still get through it.

Please, you're amazing. To get out of a deep depression is quite a feat. Now, unfortunately, you've got to just do it again...
