IS nursing still in high demand as a career ???

YES! I am a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and I hear about the shortage all the time. One of the reasons is because we are so low on nurses now that there is not enough to go around, therfore the nurses that we do have have to work very long hours for days. A lot of them are really getting burned out because of the demand from their jobs. It is terrible really.

What careers in Japan are in high demand for people who speak both English and Japanese?

If you could speak both Japanese and English, honestly that's the great advantage to get a job.

As domestic market is shrinking smaller and smaller, most company are trying to expand their market outside of Japan. (The number of elderly is stably rising.)
And there's really few people who can speak both languages in Japan. ( We are really conservative. )
About 1 percent of us can speak English enough to do one's job. And the others are struggling to learn it, or gave up with it.

Take this situation as a good opportunity for you.

And the careers you should train is totally depends on what you want to do in Japan.
There are as many kinds of jobs as you can find in your country. But if you want to enter the normal style company where you work on the desk, I can give some information for you.
Those careers ( certifications ) makes you to get job easier in trading companies, automotive / motorcycle companies, or some other product makers.

Get an accountant certification like 簿記検定
Japanese language certification of 漢字検定、日本語検定 would be an strong evidence.
if you can speak other languages like Spanish, Deutsch or French you should prepare.
Driver's license is essential. You should get manual transmission if possible.
And to make sure you'd better to get TOEIC. Maybe you can get a score of 990 (perfect)
Microsoft Office Specialist is the evidence of that you can use computers normally.

And MUST train and learn Japanese typical manners. We (except me) strongly require workers good attitude and behavior even if you are a foreigner. (That's the one of traditional Japanese style I strongly hate.)

How deep you should bow is depends on the situation. You should master it.
When you are moving with your customer, in the elevator, car, or even restaurant, the place where you can sit is important. Usually you should sit down after the customer or your boss sits.
After trained this manner, you can try the examination of ビジネス検定 so called B検. Even some Japanese young workers can't get this certification. For you, it's good opportunity to show how you can behave.

That's extremely tough... But once you master those manner you'd be treated well, and you can get some opportunities to earn more.

Is SAP BI/BW a good option for career growth? Is there demand for this now in the industry?

There is going to be plenty of work for SAP BI/BW work in the future.  SAP has a huge amount of market share in BI/BW.  SAP can be a rather complex ecosystem of products, and so people with skills in this area are always going to be in demand.  My caution would be there is significant disruption in the BI/BW space recently.  There are many innovations happening from Netezza, Teradata, Greenplum, Vertica, Tableau, etc.  There are literally too many to list. This is all being driven by:1. Data is growing by leaps and bounds.2. Companies are competing more and more using Analytics.3. Analytics companies are innovating to make getting answers easier.4. Schools are providing more programs around DataCompetition is becoming heated.  Data Warehouse, Visualization, ETL Tools, all have serious innovations happening.   Companies like SAP are going to be around for a long time, however they are going to have a harder time keeping all of the pie.  There are many advantages to using a non-SAP solution.  Many are cheaper, not as complex, and easier to digest.  You can start on solutions like Pentaho or Talend very small, and they can grow with you.  Some companies like MicroStrategy have a very easy to understand product set.One of my points is, that to learn SAP, and understand it very well, may consume your entire career.  If I personally had to choose being an expert at SAP Business Objects and BW vs. riding the wave and understanding all the other cool innovations out there, I would take the wave.  I would say BI/BW in general is a great career right now.  If you make it SAP specific, it is still great, but I think that is limiting yourself more than you should.  You have to ask yourself what it is you like to do.   Do you like to play with databases, build visualizations, solve analytics problems?  Focus on what you like.  If you like BI/BW in general, than you should try to learn Databases, ETL tools, Statistics, Visualizations, Data Management and more.  A generalist in todays explosion of data, one that can play on a team, is much more valuable than a specialist in my opinion.

Is there a demand for Archaeologists? … Is it a good career for young people to take up?

There is definitely a demand for archaeologists in the private sector. There are a few caveats however. First is that many of the jobs that are out there are what we affectionately call “shovel bum” jobs. This means that most of your time is spent digging in the field, paid hourly at an acceptable rate (but definitely not great), and the analytical part of archaeology is left up to someone else. The beauty of these jobs is that you can definitely move up pretty quickly if the company is hiring and if they let you contribute to the analyses they will give you an even better opportunity in the long run.The second caveat is that advancement in the field requires at least a Master’s degree. Even if you “shovel bum” for years you will never get to the level of project manager or principal investigator without at the very least a Master’s and an RPA certification (Register of Professional Archaeologists). If you do have this, your opportunities are great, you just have to work in the lower levels for a little while. I even know many people who started “shovel bumming” and got their Master’s degree while working at the same time.Lastly, you have to realize that archaeology in the private sector is a service industry, you’re just serving a variety of interests like the developers, the native groups, the state archaeologists, etc. It can be amazing at times and super rewarding and sometimes it can feel a little depressing, but that comes with pretty much every job.If you’re thinking about academic archaeology, that’s a whole different ball game.

Is psychology a good career to study and is it a high demand job?

Cons...

However, there are two cons of becoming a psychologist. Psychologists have highly challenging tasks! They often have to work under stress and great pressure. And not always they can see the results of their work!

One more con is a long educational way. You have to study quite a lot to practice independently as a psychologist! To get a license you must pursue Ph.D. in psychology. All the other psychologists' career paths demand well-rounded education and practical experience as well. So to get a highly-paid job you have to study for seven years or even more!

...and Pros

Still, let's talk about pros of becoming a psychologist. And they're quite multiple as compared with cons! What are the benefits of becoming a psychologist?

For starters, you'll acquire a deep knowledge of human nature. Why people act in a certain way, what do they mean acting like this, what are their real thoughts and intentions. Understanding the nature of people's behavior is vital everywhere, no matter what professional field you choose! Throughout the academic studying you'll be able to gain a valuable knowledge which you can apply in your future profession. You'll study the theories of human behavior and many different therapeutic techniques in detail. Isn't it interesting?

Next pro - attractive salary. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, median annual salary in the fields of clinical, counseling and school psychology comes to $84,220. Those who work in the industrial-organizational sector can make $117,470 a year! Well, but we talk about psychologists with some experience. For those who are just starting their career salary would be $41,070 on average. The highest salary have psychologists in private sector. Yep, it's quite costly to visit a psychologist!

What else can be added? Becoming a psychologist is a rewarding, but rather challenging path. Just consider all pros and cons of this profession and decide what is more important for you. Becoming a psychologist can turn into prosperous career for hard-working and persistent people. But are you the one?

What are some good careers/jobs for creative people?

The only things that I am good at are being imaginative and creative. I'm not very practical at all, and I have lost several jobs due to the fact that I have been required do just do things "right" but the "right" way never makes sense to me. I'm a brilliant writer and philosopher, I believe I have great ideas for anything from movie scripts to comedy sketches. I hope to one day be a published novalist, but that isn't going to make me money right now. I need to make money now so that I can move to Melbourne and study, but nobody is going to pay me for the only things I am good at.
Any suggestions?
