What Are Some High Paying Careers Not In The Medical Field

What are high paying careers that are not related to the medical or IT fields?

As far as “not related to IT,” it can be argued that software engineering and computer science are not necessarily related to information technology when the practitioner is working on embedded software in products such as cars, aircraft, consumer products, telephones, and so on.And a lot of practitioners in software engineering and computer science are not necessarily “high paid.” So, it’s important that we define the term. I would define “high paid” for an entry level software engineer as being above $50,000 per year, plus benefits (medical, dental, vacations, etc.).However, to address the question, other occupations that I would consider high-paid include the following:AccountingActuariesSome lawyersProject managersMany civil engineersJust take a look around at the people you deal with every day. Many are well-paid, productive and happy.

What are some high paying medical careers not many people know about?

In the medical services industry itself, definitely MDs and pharmacists do well financially. That being said, these careers require many years of schooling and will put you in a good deal of financial debt. If you take a step back and look at the pharmaceutical/medical device industry that supplies the tools and medicines that doctors and pharmacists deal with, there are some fairly high paying jobs in the fields involving FDA/EU regulation. Many people know that a regulatory body oversees the manufacturing of drugs and medical devices, but I don’t think people know how much money, effort and time goes into maintaining regulatory compliance. I work as a consultant doing ‘validation’. Validation is ensuring that your equipment, process, software, etc is robust and performs according to the end user’s requirements. It also involves ensuring that this process is performed in compliance with regulatory bodies. Basically, when the FDA or some other regulatory body is involved, there is usually a lot of money on the line. If the FDA doesn’t like what you do, they can shut you down, potentially costing millions or even billions of dollars. I don’t make an obscene amount of money, but I do alright for only having a 4-year degree.

What are the highest paying jobs in the medical field?

The medical field has many different types of jobs, ranging from clerical/administrative, supervisory, clinical, to healthcare support. The main difference is between clinical and non-clinical roles. Most non-clinical and administrative roles are paid an average salary. Within clinical positions, specialty doctors are the ones who have the highest salaries. A firm called Merritt Hawkins, who specializes in physician research, conducted a 2017 study of clinical providers’ salaries. Family physicians average around $200,000, which is fairly modest. Psychiatrists average just slightly more at $250,000. Orthopedic Surgeons and Radiologists average $426,000 and $579,000 respectively. Dermatology is an odd one that ranged anywhere from $421,000 to $1 million. This most likely depends on the area that the dermatologist is practicing in. Most of these position’s salaries are dependent on the city and socioeconomic status of the area that they are practicing.  Neurosurgeons also have one of the highest paying medical professions. Their median starting salary (yes, starting salary, not average) is anywhere between $395,000 to $500,000. However, it takes an incredible amount of education to become a neurosurgeon. Someone going into this particular field should expect to complete 4 years of their undergraduate degree, 4 years of medical school, a year-long internship, as well as 5-7 years in residency. In the first years of residency, neurosurgeons start off by handling general surgery then gradually work their way to neurosurgery.  Needless to say, it takes a long time to put your neurology skills and education to work. Although it may take many years to finally be able to practice as a surgeon, their unemployment rate is extremely low at just 0.6%. Orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, general surgeons, pediatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, urologists and trauma surgeons will always be paid more than general family physicians, simply because of the nature of their work and the risk involved.

What are some high paying jobs outside of the medical field?

Medicine related subjects protect & save life so they are highest paid jobs. The second category is that which “destroys” human life are the second highest paid - knowledge of nuclear amrs, missiles, chemical warfare, for many nations wants to prove their military superiority which gives them economic muscle - USA, Russia, China are few best & worst examples for they spend more on destructive things than on improving life.Space technologies though much in demand, most governments being short of funds & with long gestatio n periods, do not give high salaries

Healthcare administration. In the higher levels, healthcare administrators can make big money. People in charge of a big hospital can pull down a half million a year.Because really, if the sight of blood grosses you out, you cannot work as any sort of care giver.

What scope is there for high paying jobs in the medical field other than a doctor?

What is high paying and what is “the medical field”?Is a software developer who does work on medical devices “in the medical field”? I’ve done that for a few jobs, it pays pretty well and comes with the sense of helping people and improving lives. There are lots of lab tech, specialist imaging jobs, and things like that. I don’t really know what they pay but I don’t think it is terrible, and you can get into them with a 4 year degree usually. It is also worth keeping in mind that the amount of worked required to get the different jobs is different.Getting qualified as a doctor with the right speciality seems to pay pretty well, but it takes 10+ years of your life and you do it pretty tough getting to that point before you make great money, and the high paying jobs have on call work and things like that. You then need to keep up on current developments and keep studying to stay current in the field. It may not be worth all of that for a fat pay cheque.
