What Are Some Mystery Novels/films With Ballroom Scenes

Which are Bollywood's best thriller(genre) movies ever?

Bollywood has not been good at making good suspense movies. So many times the thrillers end up being a ripoff from a foreign film to the extent that you already know the content of the movie. Though there ain’t a lot of choices my favorite suspense movies are as follows :1. Jewel thief: Hands down the best Bollywood suspense movie I have ever seen is Jewel thief. Be it the impeccable performance from the cast or the scenic backdrop of Sikkim, everything fell into place. At no point, I could guess the suspense. The incredible music was icing on the cake. The movie is a timeless classic.2. Kahaani: After a long dearth of ripoffs there came a mainstream movie which felt original and equally entertaining. The ensemble star cast of Vidya, Nawazuddin, Parambrata, and Calcutta make it so believable. The movie is pure delight. Not to be missed.3. Manorama Six feet under: This lesser promoted movie at the time had all the ingredient for a good suspense thriller - an unknown terrain, lesser-known (well not very active in the recent times ) cast and totally unexpected story line. The small town worked like a charm and so does the Abhay Deol but the real hero was the good story line. Must watch.4. Ugly: This one is my personal favorite from all the movies that Anurag Kashyap has directed. The movie is more philosophical than adventurous. The movie deals with the Ugly side of the human nature amid a kidnapping backdrop. Like most of Anurag’s movies, the cast did a commendable job but watching Ronit Roy was the real deal. Totally worth it.5. Ittefaq (1969) : Back in the days when Yash Chopra used to direct a diverse variety of movies. This is one of the rare Hindi movie with no songs and captivating enough despite being shot in a limited area (one house for most of the time). Movie rode of the star power of Rajesh Khanna and superb performance by Nanda. After a very long time after I had watched the movie I came to know that this movie was a remake of British movie Signpost to murder.Peace

Are there any good movies where the bad guy wins at the end?

The first movie that popped up in my mind after reading this question was THE DARK KNIGHT.This movie is directed by the genius Christopher Nolan and the beauty is that we don’t even realise that the bad guy JOKER has won at the end.Batman along with Lieutent Jim Gorden and District Attorney Harvey Dent try to wipe out the organised crime from Gotham. Joker on the other hand is an agent of chaos who terrorizes Gotham and plunges it into anarchy.Joker comes up with a master plan and kidnaps Dent and his girl friend Rachel.Dent is somehow saved by the Batman but Joker kills Rachel.Joker then meets Dent and brain washes and manipulates him to take revenge on those who were responsible for Rachel’s death including himself.Dent falling to Jokers trap goes on a killing spree and kills all those who he thinks are responsible for Rachel’s deathAlthough in the end Batman successfully defeats both Joker and Harvey Dent,Joker was successful in influencing and turning The White Knight of Gotham Harvey Dent into a brutal murderer. This can be considered as a victory to the bad guy THE JOKER.
