Spending a summer in LA?
Hi, next summer (2015) I'll be 18, headed into my senior year of high school. Before I graduate, I want to go to LA for two-three months to experience auditions and see how some of the acting industry works there. I wanted to get some information and perspective on how much it will cost. I have a job right now and will be working for the next year. I am willing to pick up more shifts and do a babysitting job on the side in order to make more money if needed. Does anyone have a semi-close guesstimate? Also, my parents want me to try and find maybe a family or something that will take me in, if possible. Of course, that is because it would be cheaper and safer. If anyone has ideas or know of organizations for non-college grad students that can assist and give even more information on this, that would be so wonderful! Thank you for your time.
What are the best summer internship ideas for aerospace engineering in Los Angeles?
Most aerospace companies don't want nor need high school students hanging around. However, many engineering colleges will set up a Co-Op program for you for second term of your Junior year in college. I attended MIT and in second term junior year one of my professors arranged for me to get a Co-Op job at (then) North American Rockwell that had a huge plant next to LAX. I worked on the B-1A bomber and needed to get a DOD security clearance as a Co-Op student. If you have family/friend connections you might be able to wrangle an internship working at a GA airport in the greater LA area.

Best place in LA to live for the entertainment industry?
Ever since I was in 4th grade I knew I wanted to become an actor! I was just waiting until I graduate High School so I can go and move there! And right now I'm in my senior year and I'm planning on moving to some place in LA to become an actor/entertainer! I don't want to hear that "Give up on your dreams" BS because I'm already for sure about moving there this summer, but just need to find the best location when entering the Entertainment Industry. I have a entertaining Youtube channel with over 1.5 million hits and I've taken acting classes, went to a Performing Arts School for 2 yrs, been in a couple plays and musicals and I even performed my first standup gig when I was 16. I also went to LA last summer for a convention and got into some "Industry" parties and met a few celebrities and talked with some "Industry" people and they were backing me up and telling me to move out to LA because I had the look, the personality and the charisma to make it! So I couldn't be anymore ready to move out there!\ I work at a Italian restaurant aswell for about 1 year and work anywhere from 30-40 during the school year. And I saved up several thousand to make sure I was set for a few months once I get to LA. So to wrap this up! Where in LA should I be looking into if I want to get into the entertainment industry? People have been saying The Valley is the spot or West Hollywood. I want to know what you guys think! And should I join the SAG? Thanks for any feedback! :-)

What are some part time jobs for international students in Los Angeles?
As an international student you cannot work part-time anywhere in USA until 9 months and some required units of classes according to university requirements. ( See university requirements for CPT application) After that you can apply for CPT and work as a part time employee in your major of field.Also, I would suggest you find an on campus job which you can work from the first day of your classes.
Anybody know of any teen jobs in Los angeles ?
A great job for you, which I did when I was a teen and it worked out really well, is work for Citywide Aquatics. You can work for the City of LA, Parks and Recreation at the public swimming pools. You can be a Locker Room Attendant and make close to $10 an hour which is better than most fast food joints and a lot easier and better environment. All you do is clean the locker room, watch customers belongings while they swim and respond to emergencies in the pool. You can swim before or after work and get better. Then become a lifeguard which is better in pay than a pool manager. You can continue working and even make a career as a city employee. That is the best advice I have for you. Good luck.
What other good career or job options do I have in Los Angeles if I don't wanna work at a store or restaurant for a part time job as a college student with no experience?
I’d understand this question if you were in Omaha, but in LA, it’s borderline crazy.Just scroll through craigslist and see the amount of jobs that require MORE skill but actually pay LESS money than a restaurant. You are also in college, so apparently you can type and use a computer, which opens up 1,000 doors and really, any office job will take you on.Ecommerce, tech, film, music, artists, and so on need tons of part-time and greenfield help, like administrative assistant, transcriptions, taking phone calls, and so on. It’s a big world, and really, in LA, the problem isn’t so much that you have no options, but that you have more options than you can list in a telephone book.
