What Are Some Rights/values Of A Child At A Nursery

How does a nursery nurse apply the care value base in their day to day tasks.?

1) -ensuring that you dont assume a girl with baby is playing a nurse-girls can be doctors!!!
-a child from mixed race background does not mean they do not speak english!
-support children in being independent-EVERY child!
2) -Do not talk about children outside of work or to anyone not related to the care of the child.
-have a locked cupboard to store info.
3) Look up the UN Convention on the Rights of The child (see Bernard Van Leer Foundation online)
-give child choices so they can make own decision
-call them by their name-do not shorten or change proununciation without their permission!
4) -Have images around room showing celebrations and images of variety of faiths not just one particular culture!
-Praise all celebrations-new born baby, using toilet on their own, putting own coat on!
5) Having regular obs so that you notice if child is acting differently all of a sudden!
-staff must have up to date safe guarding training.
6) Positive body language- show your interested-get down to their level, eye contact etc.
-spend time with the child playing wth them not just watching or directing them.
7) Key person system so an adult will know the child well rather than learning about whole group!
-Go by child's interest not adults!

I didnt put 3 for each because i was hoping I have given you some ideas so that you can build from these!

Study guides such as NVQ3 or NVQ4 are great to help with questions like these. I had one by MacLeod-Brudenell and it was a life saver!!!

Interview answers for nursery job?

Why do you want to work with children? I love to work with children because they are a joy to be around and I care about their well being and developmental skills.

How would yo deal with a crying child? I would calmly ask them what is wrong and try to figure out the cause of their distress. If its an infant I would check the basics( dirty diaper, thirst hunger or possable illness)Then I would try to calm them down in a positive manner.

Tell me about yourself? Just be honest with them about your self.

Your strengths and weaknesses? Same thing.

I havea rough idea, but would love some advice on what to say. Thank you

oh! and why do you want to work at our nursery? Tell them the nice things you have heard about their nursery and maybe the comments that other parents have made about it.Telling them it seems like a place that you could make a career out of. If you give them the idea that its only a temporary position that you are looking for they are more likely not going to hire you.

What is the value of a mother in Islam?

We are talking about ‘The Personality’ who gave us birth, facing hardships from her pregnancy but never giving up on us. The one who you can consider by your side at any point in your life. The selfless love you get is not describable.ISLAM, in general, protects the rights of women but the rights or value of the women approaches next level when she becomes a Mother. To have an idea of how much Islam values a Mother just let me tell you all. ALLAH ALMIGHTY when talked about HIS love for mankind said that HE loves mankind 70 times more a mother loves her child. ALLAH ALMIGHTY used mother’s love for her children as a measure for his Love for mankind.Let us recall about a personality named Syedna Owais Qarni (R.A) who was far away from Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) when he embraced ISLAM. Being a Muslim, his first wish was to see Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) [ Muslims will know what this means to them) but couldn’t because his mother was ill and he kept serving his mother.Few months / years later, After he got some time meet Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W), HE (S.A.W.W) left the world already. So basically, Syedna Owais (R.A) missed a chance to meet Prophet Muhamamd (S.A.W.W) because of Serving his mother. One day, while he came to the region for Hajj, Syedna Umar (R.A) & Syedna Ali (R.A) found him and asked him to pray for them and said Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) directed them to have us got prayers from you . As a reward of serving your mother.Muslims know well, The status of Syedna Umar (R.A) and Syedna Ali (R.A) in ISLAM. And know the intensity of the reward when such personalities ask someone to pray for them. There is a lot more to say. But words are just not enough to describe what I am feeling right now.

What are the benefits of preschool?

A highly structured environment helps young children learn to make friends and play well with others. This doesn’t mean there are lots of rules or that adults constantly direct children’s activities. Children have several choices of activities; a child who is wandering aimlessly is encouraged to choose one that interests him. Children learn to take care of themselves and others.Preschool-age children’s language skills are nurtured in a “language-rich” environment.Day boarding School in C.G. is place where your baby got safety and all concerns and will enjoy learning.Between the ages of 3 and 5, a child’s vocabulary grows from 900 to 2,500 words, and her sentences become longer and more complex. Teachers observe, ask questions and listen to children’s ideas during these activities — “correct” answers are not the goal.Young children show growing interest in pre-math and pre-literacy skills.

Can I send my kids directly to class 1 in India without any nursery/kindergarten schooling?

I totally understand your concerns about the financial/ commercialisation aspect and the stress, we are all facing this. But kg has been there since a long time, even we as kids used to attend school at this age. Maybe playschool is an additional concept now.As far as I can see, it helps the child build social relationships, kid learns to stay away from parents (they cry a lot initially but eventually they have to learn to stay away at school for a few hours), and these are the building blocks for their main schooling. We cannot expect them to go from staying at home to straight 6 hours of studying in school (class 1 onwards). You might get some advice on Quora regarding home schooling that is practiced in the US. However, to understand from the Indian scenario, one thing you can do is to compare the syllabus of kg to class 1. Also do find out the selection criteria in the school which you eventually want admission into. If you find no additional value and the prospect school has no prerequisites, you could perhaps teach your child at home, but ensure she gets some external exposure among other kids of the same age so that going to school doesn't come as a shock.Of course, you also know that in India this would be entirely experimental, a very brave step. But I understand you wanting to keep the child out of the rat race as long as possible (don't we all want to?), good luck with that and do share your experience. Here is an another answer to a similar question on Quora, do see if it helps.Should my child skip kindergarten?

What's the most important thing in a child's education?

Three things:1/ That learning is not over (should not be over) as soon as the education ends. Having the lifelong learner mentality is important.2/ That learning is not about mindless memorization of facts that can be found in less than a second in Google search. Rather, it's about asking good questions (good questions are more important than "correct" answers) and getting to the heart of things.3/ That learning is an exciting process, not a drudgery - if approached in a proper way.Education has its end but is not the end.Diploma is not a destination.Often we identify education with learning. It’s a mistake. A fatal one, as it turns out.Education is not the same as learning.I remember that when I was in school I thought education was the same as learning. I think most of us did. We saw the learning process as something that has its beginning and its end. Education was learning. Period. And obviously there was the beginning and the end to it.We didn’t know better. Turns out most of our parents didn’t know better, too.The logic went: “If you want to learn more, stay at the university and pursue an academic career. But if you think that academic career is not for you, your learning process ends once you get that diploma.”That was (still is) so broken! Here’s the secret.Education, as we all know it, is the formal introduction to the learning process. It’s not even the real beginning of it. It’s the formal beginning. Learning starts as soon as we are born – a human being doesn’t need a teacher to start the learning process. Formal education starts much later. The word ‘to educate” comes from Latin verb ‘educere’ which means to bring out, lead forth, lead out (from ex- “out” + ducere “to lead”), thus to introduce, to make a beginning. The word ‘to learn’, on the other hand, comes from Old English verb ‘leornian’ which means “to get knowledge, be cultivated, study, read, think about”.As we can see, education requires that there is a teacher and a student whereas learning is detached from the teacher figure. It’s a huge mistake when we (and our parents) put the equals sign between these two. It’s fatal because young people come to believe that diploma is the destination. Naturally it’s not, and we all learn throughout our whole lives but since we think learning is over once we’ve finished our formal education the learning process is severely limited because we don’t support it the way we should.
