What Are Some Things To Consider When Going To Buy My First Car

What are some things to know before buying your first car?

Research any vehicle you are interested in for reliability ratings to see if it is reliable. Do more research on the car until you have a full understanding of it's pros and cons. Some cars will be very reliable one year and then be unreliable the very next year. Once you settle on a car you like and can afford take it to a trusted mechanic and have them go over the car. The $50-100 you pay them will be money well spent. This will go a long way to prevent you from getting a money pit. Also ask to see the Carfax on any car you are buying. If it has a salvage title walk away. If it has over 3 owners walk away. Here is a great website for research. http://www.truedelta.com

I know nothing about cars and I'm buying my first, what to look for?

I'm 19 and I'm looking to buy my first car within the next month and I don't want to be ripped off.

The only things I know to look for are superficial things like mileage and number of owners.

When looking under the hood of the car, I have no idea what I'm looking at.

What are some things to check (tires, engine, whatever else there is...) so I can try to assess the quality of the vehicle?

Thanks in advance.

Leasing my first car?

I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to look at cars. I have my pay stubs and license, will I need to bring anything else?
I have about 15 hundred for a down payment and then 500 or so saved for plates/registration/etc and insurance.

I know you need to show proof of insurance before you leave the dealership with the car.. So I was wondering how I'm supposed to show proof of insurance before I get there if I haven't looked at cars and don't know what car I'll be leasing yet? Can they fax the information to the the dealership right away? Or will I have to wait?

This is my first car so I'm nervous I wont be prepared!

-My parents are helping me with payments, but everything will be in my name.

-are there lease to own options?

-does anyone have any advice that would be more beneficial?

I've been looking for cars everywhere!!

How do I buy my first car?

I think the main thing you have to watch out for when buying your FIRST car is to make sure1. It's reliable2. It's cheap3. It's slow4. It's very strongComing from a guy living in the country with the shittiest drivers, this is why I think those are good standards when you're buying your first car.It has to be reliable because this is your FIRST car. If you don't know anything about cars you won't know how to fix it when you run into problems. Go Japanese like Honda, Toyota, etc. Make sure it's cheap. You want to MAKE SURE it's cheap because it is your first car. You don't want it to be expensive because it's your first car. It's the car you use to practice and become a better driver. If you crash, it will be no problem because it will be easy to repair and you won't worry about it more. Most people would worry about crashing it because it's a brand new shiny toy. But it's something for you to practice driving with so it should be cheap for when you get in an accident or when you need to repair it for messing it up.It has to be slow. I can't stress this enough, IT HAS TO BE SLOW. I live in China, the country with some of the shittiest drivers in the world. I've heard endless stories of people getting into accidents with their 400+ hp BMW's and also killing and injuring others while at it. These are mainly little spoiled 18 year-olds after just picking up their licenses. They don't know how to control the power and they don't understand the danger of 400+ hp. So you need to practice with a slower car. Last idea is that it has to be fairly strong so if or when you get in an accident you will be ALIVE. RIP Lee family I will miss you all

Buying my first car at a dealership what do I need to know?

Iv been working at my job for over a year now and I make 15 dollars an hour. I have bad credit but I just want to have an idea of what it's going to be like. Will the dealer sell me a car that day if I find one I like? I'm thinking about a used car 15000 and under maybe 10000. I can put like 2000 down. What do I need to take with me besides my money?
