How often do happily married or committed couples fight/argue with each other?

Happily married or committed couples never fight with each other and only very rarely argue. I define “fight” as yelling, screaming, throwing or destroying property, slamming doors, deliberate snark/insults, below-the-belt behavior, and someone ending up in a solitary room for hours. In tears.Arguing is a step down from fighting and can involve a little tension or misunderstanding, but there is a quick apology and all is forgotten by the end of the day. This is inevitable. I’ve argued with my mother and father before, especially when I was younger. I’ve had a few arguments with significant others—nothing I can remember. But I can remember my ex-husband attempting to pick big, nasty fights over trivial issues. Because that’s what he grew up seeing his parents do. That was his normal. He thought that all couples had hideous fights, frequently, if not daily. No marriage counselor we saw could convince him that it wasn’t a good idea to pick at me and try to get me to rise to the bait. That’s frankly one large reason why we’re not together. This said, I don’t think that it’s a good sign if there are no arguments ever. If you never argue, you’ve either checked out of the relationship or you’re holding back a lot of resentment for your partner’s past infractions. That’s going to eventually gurgle up and erupt one day, and then it’ll get totally nasty. This is precisely why passive-aggressiveness is so destructive and why it is considered abusive behavior, even when someone doesn’t mean to be abusive. And if you’ve ever had someone do this to you—unload years worth of sh*t they’ve been holding in—then you know how painful and devastating it is, and how it makes you feel like one big nothing.Zachary Z also touched on a point—if you’re having the same big fight over the same thing … it’s never going to be resolved. Either capitulate to lifelong drama or get out. There’s no resolution. You’re highly incompatible. End of story. It’s funny. People often say that they’re married to their “best friends”. How often do you have a major falling-out with your best friend? How often do best friends get into loud, screeching fights that escalate into wall-punching and tearful blaming? I think most of us would say never. Number of fights I’ve had with my best friends: 0.My best committed relationships involved no fights and very few actual arguments—maybe one every year or two. It’s no surprise that these are the only exes that I’m on friendly terms with today.

Who is the biggest fluke in boxing?

Joe Calzaghe. Fifteen years a pro, and NO big fights.

Calzaghe won a VACANT WBO strap by beating a fresh out of retirement and weight drained Chris Eubank (who took the fight at short notice after Steve Collins retired through injury), then went 9 years without fighting a single top ranked fighter.

During the last fifteen years Calzaghe avoided the likes of (young) Roy Jones jr, (young) Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Jermain Taylor, Antonio Tarver, Glencoffe Johnson and Carl Froch.

Every single time their names were mentioned, Joe suddenly had broken hands, then the minute they set up alternatives, Joe gets in the ring to face past it pugs, bums and reality tv stars. I mean, who's heard of David Starie, Tocker Pudwill, Evans Ashira, Mger Mkrtchian, Kabary Salem, Mario Veit, Miguel Jiminez, Has-been Charles Brewer(who had 8 defeats going into the fight), Branko Sobot, Peter Manfredo etc, etc, I could go on forever. Whilst fighting this lot, and more, the aforementioned were facing each other for supremacy, while Joe was wondering why he was getting no respect - durr!

Then in 2007-08 he fights over-rated bum Jeff Lacy (who, without a left hook, knows nothing about boxing), and beats Mikkel Kessler who went into the fight with a broken thumb. Then Joe fights 42 year old Bernard Hopkins and escaped with a dodgy decision, then beat a completely shot 40 year old Roy Jones who was coming off TWO terrible KO defeats, and had NO world ranking. After beating the last two mentioned (who have a combined age of 82) Joe thinks he is the gretest boxer of ALL TIME!

Now he spends all his time ridiculing all 4 of the super-middleweight champions, yet he's supposed to be a light heavyweight and won't even dare look at Chad Dawson and Adrian Diaconu.

Joe is a fake, and REAL boxing fans can see straight through him and his padded out record.

I call him, JOKE FALSE-AGHE, the greatest con-man and flluke of ALL TIME!!

Me and my boyfriend got in a HUGE FIGHT!!!. Help please!!!!!!!!!?

Well, I am 20 years old and me and my boyfriend have been dating for about 2 years in a completely committed relationship amd everything really is jist perfect. I love him so much.
We have our fights and arguments and idk what happened last night, but we got into an argument over something totally stupid so I got my things together to leave and he kept saying comments that were frustrating me when I'd go to walk out the door and finally I got so mad and went over by him yelling and actually hit him like in the shoulder (he was sitting on the bed) and in a matter of no time he hopped on top of me and pinned my arms down and got in my face, which I didn't like so I spit in my face and I normally would never never do such a thing.
I have no idea what came over me or why I acted this way and I know I am such a horrible person and I dont expect him to forgive me, but I have to try because this is such a freak thing and I would never ever do it again nor have I ever in the past. Please help me figure out what to do. He isn't talking to me and I text him saying I was so sorry. I baked him cookies and everything. I need help please!!! I dont want to lose him, we had plans to get married and we go to school and do everything together!!! Please help me!
normally whenever we fight even if things get heated we just talk or sit in silence until we figure out what to say or I go home and we figure it out the next day. I dont know what to do!

What were you doing when you were 20 years old?

6 years back when I was 20 !! I had no clue about what I was doing with my life.20th year of my life gave me the biggest disappointments :|I was doing my 3rd year of engineering, desperately wanted to get out of it !!Used to fight with my parents for no reason. They cursed me for having a child like me.I find I was the biggest failure.Broke up with my boy friend and I cried the hell out thinking that's the end of the world.I got drunk almost every weekend to get rid of my heartbreak. Hash was easily available in our college and smoking was a usual thing.Arrear papers started increasing one by one.Got suspended from college for misbehaving.Kicked out of the hostel because of too many reasons.I was blamed for the things, that I have never done.Low attendance because I never went to college.Lost some of the friends due to ego clashes.Met with an accident for the 1st time because I was driving in a wrong side.20th year in earth, I made a lot of enemies including my relatives and it's the worst year of my life !!!!But 21st year !! The final year of college... Some miracle happened. (May be I started learning from my mistakes) Cleared all the papers. Came out of the college with an engineering degree. Felt like throwing those certificates to my relatives face who thought I will never complete it. Finally spoke to my parents about what I really wanted to do. But they asked me to get married instead, so I walked out. Few years later, I proved they were wrong.6 years back I had no hope at all, I was a spoiled kid. I regret most of the things I have done back then. I was a big zero. I never thought I would reach this point. But hard work definetly gives you results. Now, I'm one of the happiest soul :) Few weeks back, I saw my parents telling my aunt that they are really proud of me, which is the biggest achievement of my life ;) ( I still do some terrible things tho... shhhhhh :p )

I need help! Drunk parents fighting, throwing things, saying call the police?

Anne, I must ans. your post! I'm a 20+ yr. sober alcoholic thru AA. Married to two ex husbands also alcoholics. Alcohol is a progressive, addictive, cunning, killer disease. I too did things to my 3 now adult children growing up. I've gone thru tons of guilt for all I'd done, but made amends with all of them. They are all so happy to have their Mother back! I KNOW ALLL you're going thru as I too did things in total "black outs", didn't remember what I'd done! While going to AA I also went to Alanon & have often said AA saved my life Alanon saved my sanity. IF your mom has gone to a "couple" AA mtgs. but it's done no good, she does honestly need a 28 day program to really learn about her disease & how to live a normal life. She also should then continue to go to AA on a REGULAR basis. I went to AA 8 times a wk. sometimes along with Alanon! You could either go to Alanon or Alateen, it would do you one world of good. Call the 800# for alcohol & see when the next closest mtg. is to you. I PROMISE you will not regret it. They are there to help you if you'd want them to, but do go to at least a couple or a few. I KNOW you'd like it & feel at "home". I ans. ALL posts on alcohol & so pray I can say just something that would be of help. I've walked in your shoes, walked in her shoes, know both sides of your story. Please I just beg of you to do something for yourself at least. Possibly she may even go to AA!!! If not, she does need a 28 day program to get & try to stay sober...I SO DO wish you all the best, honey...:)

Have you ever been in an actual fist fight?

Yes actually I have.

I was in 4th grade and this kid wouldn't stop making fun of me.

It had been going on since 2nd grade and I just ignored it for a while, and then in 3rd started telling teachers and such and telling him to leave me alone. He didn't.

One day he said his last comment and I turned around and held his neck against the wall and screamed in his face "WHO WON" and his voice was all shakey and he said "you" I said "SAY IT" he said "Ben won" I screamed even louder "WHO!?" He screamed "BEN!" I then punched him as hard as I could and he fell to the ground and I yelled out while pretending to hit a baseball with a bat "BATTER SWING" and ran away while he was crying holding his nose.

He never even looked at me again.
