Can I get into the air force academy without a varsity sport?

I'm very smart and in the top 3% of my class(1500). I, however, don't have a sport. Will this be a problem during admissions(getting in) and can you get into the usafa on academics alone?

What are the air cadets?

Yes, you will learn marching in air cadets. You will learn a variety of subjects ranging from citizenship to aviation subjects.

War tactics? No. Although cadets are funded by the Canadian Forces, no war or combat topics are ever taught.
Survival? Yes, you can participate in survival exercises.
Shooting? Yes, you start on air rifles and may shoot .22s

Air cadets can earn the glider pilots licence at age 16 and their private pilot licence at 17.

If every state of the USA declared war against each other, which would win?

I’m not sure if I really believe it, but since no one else here is making the case, I’ll name my home state.California.California is bordered by three states: Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona. Oregon and Nevada would have to be out of their minds to attack CA directly simply due to overwhelming numbers (as well as geographic barriers). Oregon troops would have to travel hundreds of miles just to reach Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevada gives a perfect defensive barrier against Nevada. Meanwhile, the border between Arizona and California is largely desert, and while Arizonans might be able to mount a significant first offensive, they’d get beaten back pretty quickly. While the other western states scramble to get organized, California could send troops as far as Canada and the Great Plains before it encountered an army large enough to stop it. This is ignoring military bases and military hardware (both of which CA has in abundance) and assuming that territorial gains are the goal of the war. If the goal is simply self-sufficiency, California could easily beat back attacks from other states given its strong natural borders, all while running a perfectly healthy economy off of agriculture and tech. It could also form a potential alliance with Mexico— the only other contestant for that not-insignificant prize would be Texas. In time, other states (especially Nevada) would be forced to give up resistance to California simply due to a need for resources. We practically upended the entire country’s food supply due to a measly drought— what will happen when we cut off those food supplies completely? Then there’s the fact that tax dollars levied from states with larger economies (California, Texas, Florida, New York, Georgia) end up going to expenses in smaller states, making them even more vulnerable economically. While Texas would certainly be able to push for a military victory, California would win the economic war.

How can I make up for not having served my country in the military? I come from a military family on my father's side.

You don't need to feel guilty about serving, but since you do there are many ways to make up for not serving. First and foremost support those that do serve. If you see a soldier having a rough day go up to them and talk to them. By talk to them I mean truly talk to them don't just thank them for their service, sometimes being thanked for their service actually upsets them more. Don't use the IPhone ring tone "alarm" this alarm is so close to the  sound used overseas for when a base is being attack that when soldiers here is they react negatively. If supporting those that serve is not enough to you, then look into the state defense force for you state. The state defense force (SDF) may not exist in your state, but the states that have them use them frequently. California and New York are the states with the two biggest SDFs. I live and work in California so have regular encounters without SDF called the State Military Reserve (SMR). Our SMR is treated just like the National Guard except they aren’t controlled by the president. The SMR provides CA with almost all their legal needs. In fact one of the SMR JAGs has helped pass over 14 state laws dealing with soldier care. He has made it so our laws are called "SCRA on steroids". Please know that even if you don't serve there is always a way for you to impact those that do.

Can I get a hard part in the Army?

I'm in the U. S. Army and I was wondering if I could get a hard part in my haircut. If you don't know what a hard part is, it's a shaved line in the scalp that makes parting your hair a lot easier. I have a high fade and I'm trying to get my hair to do a combover and a hard part would make styling it a lot easier. The reason I ask is cause it doesn't say anything about hard parts in AR 670-1.
