What Are The Courses One Can Do In Birkbeck University London After 12th In India

I am in year twelve and want to study Law at a good London University (KCL/LSE). What are the best things I can do to better my chances?

Your GCSEs are below the level of the typical student at those universities. However, LSE, for example, places weight on AS grades, so you would be well advised to get excellent AS results. If your school doesn't offer AS, you will need to get predictions of AAA or higher at A level."LSE believes that AS levels offer significant benefits, both for the student and for universities. Our evidence indicates that AS levels are an effective indicator of performance at undergraduate level and for this reason we continue to use AS grades (and in some cases the associated UMS scores) in our admissions assessments. We recommend that, wherever possible, students sit AS level examinations at the end of year 12. These AS results will help the LSE selectors better assess the application in a fair, consistent and transparent manner and will ensure that more subjective indicators of academic potential such as predicted grades are less important factors in the decision making process.LSE understands that there will be some schools and colleges that are unable to teach AS levels alongside the new linear A levels and we will not disadvantage students who submit an application without AS level grades as a result. In these circumstances we will use the information presented on the application form to make our decision (possibly in conjunction with some form of additional assessment)."

How can I get admission in a London university after my +2?

The universities in the UK use the UCAS website for all their undergrad applications. The UCAS allows you to apply to 5 universities and the same UCAS application can be used for any and every university you plan on applying to.Your 10th marks (CGPA) and 12th predicted scores are very important in this regard. The SAT is NOT required for any UK universities, although Oxford and maybe a few other universities will require you to take it once they offer you a conditional offer. However, the IELTS is a must but this also can be done after you receive offers. The most important thing on the application is your personal statement in which you need to showcase all your extracurricular as well as academic achievements. All the best!

What are the requirements for undergraduate studies in law at Oxford, King's College, London School of Economics or any other top UK university for an Indian student?

The same as for any other student. They are written in their prospectuses. It is generally a list of excellent A Level grades. Extracurricular activities and hobbies do not generally matter a lot in UK universities unless they enhance your application and depth of knowledge in some way.

Can a student in Pakistan who has done the FSc do a two year LLB in Europe or in London?

The 2 year LLB at City, University of London, and at Birkbeck College, University of London is for graduates with a Bachalor’s degree or higher in any subject. The FSc degree in the UK is only an associate degree equivalent to the 1st year of a Bachalor’s degree. But I am not a lawyer, so it is best to check for yourself the entry requirements for the 2 year Qualifying Law LLM on Birkbeck College’s website. www.bbk.ac.ukHowever I shouldn't forget there is a 2 year LLB Law degree at The University of Buckingham. But it is a private university. Their fees are high, but cheaper than studying for 3 years in the UK. Most undergraduate degrees at the University of Buckingham are 2 year degrees, apart from Medicine, a 4.5 year degree. There is no long summer holiday at Buckingham University. That’s how they complete their degrees in 2 years rather than 3. www.buckingham.ac.uk
