What point of view is dialogue?

I don't know about you, but I consider dialogue to simply be those words spoken between two people.

The story can be in any point of view. Dialogue doesn't have a point of view, it is simply the words between the quotation marks.
Whether it's written as 'He said, "You have to go." ' or as 'He says, "You have to go." ' ...the dialogue remains just the words "You have to go," which have no point of view.

Only the speaker (character) has a point of view, not the dialogue itself. Dialogue can have dialect put into it, or stuttering, or insanity... there are many choices... but none of them are 'point of view.'

Is there a dialogue in Les Miserables?

Please try to understand what *THIS* film version is all about.

It is the FIRST time, THIS, has been attempted.

It is not a re-telling of the BOOK., per se.-...but rather a FILM ADAPTION of the PLAY. (which of course is based on the book. )

Therefore and to whit, what they wanted to do.....was take the Broadway play....to the LARGE SCREEN.

Not just FILM a straight version of the PLAY......which they have already done several times with the 10th and 25th annivesary Dvd's....

No, .....they wanted to make a MOVIE version, of the play. It's splitting hairs....but here's the difference. On SCREEN....they can add amazing CGI effects, and special effects, and sets and and all that......PLUSSSSS you get CLOSER to the actors and their reactions, than you do in a play.

That is why, in this version....that wanted ACTORS......NOTTTTT singers.

They wanted trained ACTORS......to ACT OUT the songs.

So to answer your question.......YES, this movie, tells the story, like the play, in SONG after song.......but ACTED OUT, with all the special effects not possible, on a stage, in such GRAND sweeping scale.

It's actually done, *QUITE WELL* and was clearly a BRILIANT success.

Yes, its all SUNG, from start to finish, with only a few joining words, here or there thrown in, to move the story along, but no, mostly 99% song.

But you go for the spectacular FILM MAKING......and keep in mind, the singing will NOT be Broadway quality, as they didn't ***WANT***** Broadway singers, .....that they easily could have hired.....
they wanted good ACTORS......who wouldn't be afraid to tackle the tough songs.

No, Russell Crowe will not win any awards for his SINGING......but that's the POINT......it's Russell Crowe....singing Broadway show tunes!

Give the man some CREDIT.......he was game enough to try, and he was a wonderful Javert!

It was an excellent choice. Anne Hathaway, clearly blew her role out of the water, and she won an Oscar for it. It was a GREAT movie.

Does the musical "Hamilton" contain dialogue?

No, there isn’t any dialogue to transition the songs. There are some scenes, however. (the following is spoilers if you are going to see the musical live, and is based off of what a friend told me when she watched it)One scene is the “Redcoat Transition” where one ensemble member acts as a redcoat while two others act as patriot spies. One of the spies passes a note to the other and quickly walks offstage, and the other spy gets her neck “snapped” by the redcoat. This is a transition between “You’ll Be Back” and “Right Hand Man.”The other scene (sort of) is after “Dear Theodosia” and it’s called “Tomorrow There’ll Be More of Us” (Lin Manuel-Miranda posted the lyrics to this on his Tumblr, but I can only find the Genius lyrics for it right now) which is when Hamilton finds out that John Laurens was killed by British troops while he was in South Carolina.
