One year, the sunroof blew off in traffic, taking part of the roof liner with it, and, thank God, bounced off the road before it hurt anyone. Another year, a motor seized up 6 months after he took delivery. Another time, the transfer case locked into 4 wheel drive low, and committed suicide in the process.Somehow, we have come to a place where newer is always better, and new is cool, and like sheep, we go for it. My son just bought the latest and greatest Brand X, and thought is was brilliant that he saved $200 on thousand dollar PHONE!!! I explained to him how I was so proud that his $200,000 education I paid for and my excellent parenting had given him such excellent judgement.
