I presume you mean an appropriations (spending) bill. Normally, there are several of them each year, and any single one could be vetoed. Sometimes they combine some of them into one big bill as well, which is likely again this year.Both the House and Senate would need a 2/3rds vote to override the veto. This is unlikely, but it has happened. I checked, and the last time Congress overrode a president’s veto of an appropriations bill was in 1982.Because it is so hard to override a veto, Congress usually tries to avoid it by negotiating with the president over a bill’s contents.By the way, a budget resolution (often called a “budget”) is a non-binding guidance document that lays out how spending will proceed that year. Hey. I just completed my application. It all depends on which organization that you go through. I go through AFS because I live in Connecticut & I had to write FIVE short essays. Tips for the essays are to be honest, express uniqueness and humor, and make sure that they know why you want to go. What to NOT put in the essay: "I wanna go to Germany because: I wanna drink, party, skip school, have sex with German girls, ect." Just try to keep it clean and actually know why you want to go. I heard that the program isn't too hard to get into because not many Americans know about it. But, don't get your hopes up to high. Just write and express many emotions that will "WOW" the admissions officers, and you'll have a good chance of getting in.
